Ok, here is my impression of Paris – graffiti everywhere! It’s like the worst parts of Stockton and L.A. cramed into a very small area. I realize that it’s not fair to judge a city by it’s trains and metro stations, but I am. I’m sitting here in Paris-Est., killing 4 hours until the train arrives to go to Frankfurt. My oh-so-friendly porter, Alexander, the one who brought me an apple last night, woke me up this morning not with a kiss but with a cup of café au lait – my type of service! He also gave me a ticket for the metro – what a sweetheart!
The one good thing that I have discovered about Paris is these little brown and black sparrows, which hop around making "peep-peep" sounds, just like my baby quail. An older woman just sat down with a whole loaf of bread. She’s tearing it up into little bits and feeding all the birds.
