Seedling Grafting

I refer to the note in the web site written by a Japanese expert, nicknamed "Rampo" for the seedling grafting. He uses Harrisia jusbertii as the root stock but I use hylocereus undatus. Seedling, around 40 days after germination is the best for my method of the seedling grafting.

Root stock, Hylosereus undatus
Both of rooted and unrooted stocks are able to use for this method.
Necessary tools
Large craft knife:cutting ribs of stock
Small craft knife:cutting stock tip and scion
Chopsticks:handling scion
Paper cap:Stopping dry up of scion

Cut ribs, 2 to 3 days before grafting and wait shrinkage. Cut bottom of seedling  Cut tip of stock around 5mm and put sicon on the tip. This sicon is Astrophytum myriostigma v nudum cv red-bean kikko koyo
A wet day or evening is vest for this method.

Put cap on top to prevent dry up Sicon will be grafted and start growing in a week. Confirm the growing and cut top of cap to give light.

Remove cap Now the grafting is secure. You can repot.
