Humility
Humility is vital
For our soul survival
Who can come before an Almighty Holy God
Except on bowed knees and
And an obedient heart
To do His will?
CHRIST, the only beloved SON OF GOD
Is our model of Humility;
HE disrobed HIMSELF of HIS GODHEAD
To obey the will of HIS HEAVENLY FATHER
By becoming our SUBSTITUTE
And died on the CROSS for our sins;
HE was obedient and completely surrendered
To His HEAVENLY FATHER’s will
To enable us to be reconciled to Almighty Holy GOD
WHO detested SIN;
HIS holy self-sacrifice won us
Salvation and eternal life.
Christ shows us that the way to Perfection
Is not to clamber up with our own effort
Through our own good works
Which is futile because it is vain-glory;
But the way to perfection is
Descent to HUMILITY!
It is when we throw ourselves at the feet of CHRIST
Begging for HIS loving Compassion
Repenting our sins;
Surrendering to complete trust in our Saviour
Confident in HIS omnipotent power as our Sovereign LORD;
It is when we lose our sense of self importance
And allow our triune GOD to have complete charge
Of our lives,
It is when we feel HIS GREATNESS
And our littleness,
When the in-dwelling Christ increases
And we decrease,
That we can humbly say
MY GOD, HOW GREAT THOU ART!
This is our LORD'S WAY to PERFECTION
HIS WAY to HOLINESS
THE narrow WAY to HEAVEN!
Then the fruit of THE HOLY SPIRIT
Will be manifested in us;
Christ’s indwelling will bring
The fruit of LOVE, PEACE, JOY
Which we are asked by CHRIST
to share with our neighbours!
