| Gundam Wing: Legend of Mystiks Epilogue Halcyon slapped his hand away. Dame da! Zechs laughed. Whats the matter? Ticklish? She grabbed his hand and twisted it this time, eliciting a yelp from him. Iie. Youll give the baby hiccups. He narrowed his eyes in calculation. I will? Hai, and thats not good for it right now, so stop. With a pout, he did as he was told. Where are they, anyway? Theyre always late. Why did you expect this time to be any different? Heero asked. I dont know. They probably forgot, Seraph said. Guess we should check on them, right? Airia inquired, bouncing her two-year-old son, Saren, on her knee. Hai, Terestria sighed. I dont think we should! Wufei growled. Their problem with punctuality is evidently unchangeable! Injustice? Pyre teased. Quatre sighed. Dont get upset. They have a good excuse. The last time I talked with them they were having a load of trouble with some new recruits talking back to the older ones and it was a big mess. I could hear the arguing in the background. Trowa, whod been spending quiet time in the noisy room with his four-year-old daughter Evra, looked up finally. What do they have, anyway? One, as far as I know. I could see her running around behind them. Actually, she was doing a lot of the disciplining. Wufei snorted. Their daughter is controlling everything. Hai, shes his little princess. But believe it or not, shes quite well-behaved in company. Thats what he said, at least. Ill believe it when I see it. Then lets go, Pyre suggested. If they really did forget, theres no point in waiting here. The others agreed and they all slipped to the Seventh Dimension where they were greeted by a strange sight. Well, strange for those who didnt think it possible. Both were in their black robes, but they were quiet. Cosmos stood still, her right hand holding her crystal-bladed scythe tightly to keep it up, her head down. Duo stood partially behind her, his arms around her waist and his head over her shoulder. His scythe, identical to Cosmos, was held loosely in his left hand, which allowed the blade to rest on the floor. All that could be seen was the tops of their heads. They were obviously asleep. If the others hadnt known the pair as long as they had, they never wouldve been able to guess who was who until they had lifted their heads and opened their eyes. The most obvious hints were Duos height ( his six-two to her five-eleven), broader shoulders, and somewhat larger hands. More discreet hints were the sensed breathing patterns, sleepy thinking patterns, and pulse. The others watched this silent moment for a long time. It was broken by the abrupt appearance of a three-year-old girl. She ran over to the sleeping pair and tugged on Duos robes. Otousan! Theyre fighting again! Duos head rolled to the right a bit, bumping Cosmos gently. He looked down at the girl. . . . What did you say, sweetie? Theyre fighting again! the girl repeated patiently. Duo sighed. All right. Could you wake your Okaasan for me? He disappeared. The girl moved forward and tugged on Cosmos robes. Okaasan, wake up! Theyre fighting! Cosmos groaned and acted as though she was going to settle down again, but she yawned instead and blinked. Okay. Im up. She finally took in her surroundings. Oh! I didnt see you all come in! How long have you been here? Seraph gave her a knowing, sisterly smile. Long enough. Cosmos allowed a faint blush to color her cheeks, then winced at the clearly audible yell from somewhere else. She listened a little longer, then became quite alarmed. She dove to the floor right after the little girl did, covering the back of her head with her hands. The mists closed around them as if to shield them. The others stared at her for a second, then ducked as a bolt of black lightning came through the wall and hit the floor by the little girl, who squeaked and crawled under Cosmos arm. Cosmos lifted her head and looked in the opposite direction the voice and bolt had come from. Otousan! Hes doing it again! The newly-retired Shinigami appeared and sighed heavily, then frowned and looked around. Cosmos? Im on the floor, Otousan. Oh. Another sigh. That boy . . . Hes going to kill one of them one day and the whole placell go straight to Hell. Its too late for that, Grandpa, the little girl said, peering up from under Cosmos sleeve. A third sigh. True, Lara. Next time, you take care of it, Cosmos. He might respond better to you than me. Might, Otousan. Might. *~*~* What is your problem, Maxwell? Wufei spat. Cosmos just laughed harder and pointed at Seraph and Pyre, who were both blushing. I cant help it! Its just too funny! Duo leaned toward her slightly. Tell me tell me! Cosmos raised her hand so the others couldnt lip-read, but she began to giggle again before she could speak. After several more false starts, she finally got it out. Duos eyes widened and he laughed. He told Lara, who was sitting in his lap, and she tittered in amusement. You better tell them before I do! Cosmos told Pyre and Seraph. The two immediately turned to their husbands, who gave them quizzical looks. Nani? Im pregnant, the two said quickly. Nani?! Quatre fainted after that and Wufei sat shocked. Duo and Cosmos just laughed. Oh man! Priceless! Priceless! |
