| Gundam Wing: Legend of Mystiks Chapter 5 What about them? Seraph tilted her head up toward the ceiling. At least two are obviously Mystiks. We will have to help them awaken those powers. The more help we have, the better. What if they dont want to fight? We will tell them what is happening and what is at stake. If they still do not wish to fight, we will not make them. It would do no good to attempt to train an unwilling student. Halcyon looked at Cosmos and Seraph. Do not tell them of this until we have had the first meeting. We will all attend the second meeting and tell them then. The two nodded and disappeared. *~*~* . . . Itai . . . Seraph smiled as she turned. Cosmos! Hes waking up! The other girl hurried over and bent over the boy. Youre right. When he wakes up completely, he might be surprised at seeing you. Make sure he doesnt move or else hell hurt his head again. Cosmos left to check the rest. The boy moaned again and Seraph cast a spell that would hold him gently in place, then watched him open bright blue eyes and stared back at him for a moment. Ohayo, she said softly, so as not to scare him. He jumped anyway and tried to look around. When he couldnt, he panicked a bit. Whats going on?! Who are you?! Its just a spell so you dont hit your head another time and Im Seraph. Seraph? Isnt that the name of the pegacorn that helped Duo and I get to sleep? Hai. I am that pegacorn. Then you must be a Mystik. Seraph decided the boy wasnt scared any more and released the spell. She helped him sit up. Hai. The Mystik of Light. Or Life. Whichever you prefer. What about her? He pointed at Cosmos, who was standing in a doorway, talking animatedly to someone only she could see. Shes a Mystik too, right? Hai. The Mystik of Death. Or Dark. Again, whichever you prefer. Death? But shes so . . . happy. She has not had to escort anyone to the afterlife for about a month now. She is making the most of the free time. Sou ka. So she can traverse dimensions? All Mystiks can, but she can do it with the least amount of strain. The boy, Seraph noted, was absorbing everything she said. Shes a lot like Duo. Mochiron. They are both Death. Both? Demo--- It will all be explained later. Save your questions for then. Aa. The boy looked around at his friends. Are they okay? They are fine. The formula of the gas the others used was possibly damaging to the brain, but Cosmos was able to lessen any it mightve caused. Your friends should wake within the hour. Matte . . . Wheres Duo? Dare? Duo. Looks like her,--he gestured at Cosmos--except hes a guy. Oh. Him. He woke just before you did. All right. The boy glanced up as Cosmos came back with someone, then did a double-take. There you are! Duo stopped, the sandwich half way in his mouth, and looked down. Oi, Quatre! Youre awake finally! Hai. Duo, is that the sandwich you made before? Sou. Somehow I zapped it into some inter-dimensional space pocket or something--- Zero-space, Cosmos corrected. ---and Cosmos here helped me get it back. Still tastes like I just made it. Duo almost stuffed the sandwich in his mouth. He finished the thing in less than twenty seconds, then turned back to the doorway he had come out of. Man, I am starving! Im getting something else to eat! Quatres stomach growled. Im hungry too. Whatre you going to make? Whatever I can! Anou, let me help. The others are probably going to be really hungry as well. Then we better clean out all the cabinets and the ice box, ne? Why not? Once in the kitchen, Quatre asked quietly, So what do you think about them? Duo opened a large sack of cheddar chips and shrugged as he put a handful in his mouth. Theyre legit, he replied around the food. At Quatres look, he raised his hands in surrender. Dont ask me how I know, I just do. Thats not what I mean. After waiting for the other to continue, Duo crammed more chips in his mouth and prompted, Im not a mind-reader, Quatre. I dont know what you mean. Youre gonna have to elaborate. Can we trust them? Is this a trick? Hai, and this isnt a trick. Both boys turned to see Cosmos and Seraph standing in the doorway, watching them. Nani?! How long have you been there?! We never saw you! They giggled as the boys spoke simultaneously. Almost the whole time, Cosmos answered. You two are awfully loud, even when youre talking quietly. We could hear you even when we were speaking in a normal voice to each other. How? Seraph tapped her ear. We just listened. Cosmos gently elbowed here. Oi, dont be so cryptic. She looked at Duo and Quatre. Animals have excellent hearing. And you told me not to be cryptic! Seraph humphed as the boys thought over what Cosmos had said. I wasnt being cryptic! Its obvious! Quatre figured it out. You retain the creatures senses even though youre not in that form? Hai, sometimes its not always helpful, Seraph acknowledged. But I was facing the door! Duo protested. I never saw you until then! Cosmos shrugged. Selective sight. We were only invisible to you because you didnt want to see us, didnt expect us to be there. The rules of that spell. Duo and Quatre shared a glance. Things wouldnt be easy with Mystiks around. |
