WELCOME!

Thanks to the folks who have taken the time to identify themselves and share a little bit of their individuality with me. If you are just "looking", why not go back and make an entry in my guest book to share with me and those whose curiosity has drawn them here. Thanks!

Joe Laufer

Berlin (Germany) I just want to say Hello. I guess we are not related, but I'm a proud Laufer and I think we all are. Usually all Laufer families (as the name is a German word) are originated in Germany. Maybe our grandest grandfathers were brothers..? Who knows? I like a l things related with the medieval age. (is it spelled this way?) In the last few weeks I read some books of Philip Vandenberg (German books only), Umberto Eco (Foucault's Pendulum) and Donna Woolfolk Cross (Pope Joan). I am absolutely fascinated by the l fe in the early times of our civilization. But I think, I wouldn't want to live there for a long time. (Most people didn't, anyway. Even if they wanted.) On the other hand I'd like to see the days, all people can fly to the moon and to other places in spa e. It's always the same: Everybody wants to be anywhere else. ;-)

Greetings to the Laufer World!! Would like to know if we descend from the same clan???? My grandfathers name was Laufer. I have only begun my quest for family roots today. 8hrs. into my search, I have found your lovely family. I live in Michigan, but am originally from Wisconsin. I would love to hear of your genealogy research. B.

Hi, Laufers, I'm enjoying your site. There is so much I have to learn how to do on this machine. Sometimes I feel like the Pacific Ocean is the data available on this machine, and I'm in a 10 foot rowboat in the middle of the ocean with a 5 foot fishing ine. I am certainly having fun learning, however.

This is a test. Several people have told me they had difficulty sending the guest book entry. My understanding is that after it is sent, it goes into a central depository at geocities and then appears on my "read my guestbook" page later -- a delayed re ction. So I'm testing it to make sure this is the case. Cheers, everyone!
