Our President got awarded for bringing in 11 members.
Gerd reported we have $958 in Savings Account and $2,265.32 in Checking Account. She would like to move the money from savings to checking as we are charged $8.00 a month for the savings account. Aage made a motion for this. Else 2nd that motion. Gerd is going to check with Bank of America on different accounts and fees. No decision made.
October 1, Gerd sent in $219 for Liability Insurance. No Financial report as Peggy is on a cruise.
Picnic scheduled for Sunday, April 22nd, 2007. Leif is organizing it. We discussed last years picnic being such a great success with 60 people. It will be at Heritage Park again.
Aage talked about the 2007 Membership Directory on whether to update it or not. Aage is holding many checks for advertising. We would need to make 200 directories.
Next social is November 18th with Norwegian meatballs etc. - we also discussed getting together before next social to organize and discuss our board members, as Aage is stepping down as President and Irene cannot do the Editor job.

Erik acting as President until Jan S. came in.
I read the minutes from 10/21/06 and they were approved as read. Financial Report Peggy still on cruise.
Treasurer Gerd has deposits shown on her bank statement and does not know where they were coming from. (Later when Jan S. came in he gave her deposit slips and that cleared it up). He also gave her numerous checks for the raffle of the 2 paintings. Jan S. gave Gerd receipts for miscellaneous expenses like postage for mailing out all the raffle tickets in the amount of $271.08. Gerd gave him a check. Jan S. gave Jan N. the raffle stubs. The drawing will be at the December social.
Gerd talked to Bank of America about our accounts and they are going to waive the $8.00 a month, as we have been good customers. So for now everything will stay the same. Gerd also brought up the fact that Aage Hansen has been using the Bank Debit Card, which is not right by the Roberts Rule. Techincally, the only person that should have this card is the Treasurer, although at some point it was approved by the BOD that the president was allowed to use it. She is going to ask Aage to destroy it. She also mentioned Aage put $6,000 in CD's, but her statement from Bank of America does not show this.
Gerd paid Leif $60 for the deposit to rent the pavilion at Heritage Park and is trying to get Pavilion 5 for next year.
Talked about our next social November 18th, to have some music, or a tape of Norway.
Our BIG topic for today is Who will be our President and Vice President in January, Also, Gerd will not be Treasurer anymore and Irene cannot be Editor anymore. We need new people!!! Erik is going to ask Leif if he would be President, and Laila was asked if she would be VP.
