Phnom Penh ~

Back to Cambodia
The second night in the capital city, as I was sitting at a computer, I witnessed thousands of people driving by on motorbikes, pick-ups and in cars, all chanting and cheering their support for one of two politicians in an upcoming local election.
Needless to say, I was glad I was moving on to Siem Reap the next day.  I wasn't interested in getting caught up in a Cambodian election, where a rumored two to six people had already gone "missing."
As I ventured down by the palace in downtown Phnom Penh, I almost stumbled right into this huge elephant, which just so happened to be strolling down the main street, in the middle of traffic, with his owner of course.
Very bizarre.
Street sellers cover Cambodia.  From the small girls selling trinkets at the Angkor temples, to gasoline peddlers selling petrol from barrels and glass bottles on the side of the road.
The picture on the left is of two peddlers selling hand-made hammocks, for about two dollars apiece.
Above, a cute little girl is trying to get rid of some day-old pastries, of which, I opted to fortfeit to the flies.
