Koh Mook (Island), Thailand
About an hour after we stepped onto the longboat, we arrived at this exotic location... Koh Mook Island.
The surrounding islands jut straight up, into the sky.  I believe a James Bond movie was produced on one of the islands, and the movie, "Beach."
As we neared the beach of Koh Mook Island, I felt as if I was truely in paradise.  The little thatched cabanas, beautiful palm trees and white sand made this place almost perfect.  The fact that there were very few people on the beach pushed the "almost perfect" feel, into perfection.  This was my island!
As I jumped from the boat, onto the soft, warm sand, I almost landed on the biggest hermit crab I had ever seen.  The ole' boy was as big as my fist!
For four days, I strolled the beach, ate coconuts and fresh fish from the sea, snorkeled in water that was the cleanest I'd ever seen, and explored one very beautiful island.
Back to Thailand
One of the most amazing sites on the island was an open-roofed cavern, accessible only by a cave that was only large enough to swim through.
At low tide people can snorkel or swim it, at high tide, it's scuba time!
The cave was pitch black, and took about three minutes to swim through, and into the open cavern, that was about the size of a small house.  It was so perfect, I swore that it had to have been man-made.
