Meet the First Lady...
Webmaster: Crystal J. Anderson
First lady Fernsene Anderson is the daughter of the late Deacon Kelly Monuel and the late Missionary Mother Margaret Middleton-Monuel.  Fern (affectionately called First Lady) was born October 19, 1951, into a family commissioned and dedicated to the Lord and His work.  Fern's mother encouraged her at an early age to work in ministry an work at developing a love for the Lord.  Many prophetic utterances and prayers covered her life and did lead her into the ministry where she presently works.

The second daughter of 3 girls, she began playing the piano at the age of 3 years old.  Fern received music lessons from a family member, Mrs. Bettye Gibbs-Jennings.  She later joined the evangelistic team of the now, Bishop Walter Camps as Minister of Music and Organist.  During the beginning of her college years she traveled extensively on weekends throughout the USA with the revival team.  Fern gained a wealth of experience and knowledge of dealing with people and building ministry team leaders and workers.

Fern was a very easy going but firm type with the personality to effectively get a job done, with people willing to work.  The virtue of patience was engraved in her spirit and had proven to allow the Holy Spirit to be present and at work constantly in her.  She gave lots of credit to her mother for her guidance.  Fern also credited the teachings and benefit of workshops and  the late Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark.  "As a member in the Church of God in Christ Music Department (during her presidency), you were always presented with the opportunity to sit under Dr. Clark's teachings", Fern once said.

Fern served for 27 years as Assistant Minister of Music to her husband, Supt. Hugh Anderson, II in the Gainesville (FL) District Music Department.  She was founder and CEO of the now Solid Rock Conservatory of Music & Performing Arts, a ministry of the Solid Rock Ministry Network.  Her mission is to teach music to reach into the heart of every student so that they too will cherish the ministry and love God as she does.  First Lady Fern was also Worship Leader and Administrator of Women's Ministry.  She held Worship & Praise Conferences annually and is Chairperson for the"Women in Ministry Conference."

One of Fern's goals was to create a music ministry at Solid Rock where other Musicians will gather to become accomplished Ministers as well as Worshippers of God.  Fern once said, "Latter Rain's Music Department believes that Musicians are worthy, and deserve to be given respect for their work and not be used.  The music in worship today should place you clearly where God is (in His presence); if your music only entertains you and you can only clap and shout, you are missing the very heart of God.  A church or ministry without an effective and fair music department is a church or ministry without."

Fern met her husband, Supt. Hugh Anderson, II in 1971 while at work with the evangelistic crusade.  Her ministry since has been clearly dictated by God and His directions are taking her where He apparently wants her.  Fern is the mother of 5: Hulaunda (elementary school teacher), Montria (food service worker), Crystal (University of Florida graduate), Hugh III (Sante Fe Community College student), and Christian (Buchholz High School junior).  Her hobbies were playing the piano, collecting all styles of Gospel Music, listening to Classical Music, cooking gourmet meals for her family, shopping, and decorating.  Her recent plans were to open a second business of fine desserts with older daughter who is a great cook as well.
