WILLIAM W. PRESTON
Logan City Cemetery, UT
Baptized by future brother-in-law Henry G. Boyle, and soon called in charge of Pacific Coast Mission, later called home because of the invasion of Johnston's Army. He settled in Payson, UT for a time, and soon relocated to Cache Valley where he helped found the present day Logan.
When Apostles Ezra T. Bensen and Orson Hyde were sent to organize Cache Valley, they called Bro. Preston as Bishop, and then to a mission in Europe, then to Echo Canyon, Ut, to help with the railroad, and back to Logan, now a busy city in the which he was called as Presiding Bishop over Cache Valley. It wasn't until the April 1884 General Conference that he was called as Presiding Bishop of the Church. He served in this capacity until 1907, where he resigned his position for ill health.
