       As a young boy he had a vision of many things of the restored Church, from the Prophet Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, the trek west, and even polygamy; this was before his conversion at the age of nineteen.
         He also served as Bishop in Richmond, UT; and President of the Logan Temple where he experienced many manifestations of the work, and even an encounter with the adversary. As an Apostle he was especially recognized for his wisdom, good judgement, spiritual insight, understanding and industry in material life.
