| Third son of Peter Whitmer Sr. In D&C 15, the Lord calls John to declare repentence & bring soles to Christ. He was also later called as Church Historian and to keep the records of the Church, but through his slothfulness was released, refusing to hand over his records. He was eventually excomunicated while serving as Asst. Pres. of the Church in Clay County for unChristian-like conduct. He never denied his testimony of the Book of Mormon. | ||||||||||||||
