HEBER C. KIMBALL
Kimball / Whitney Cemetery
Salt Lake City, UT
Neighbor and friend to Brigham Young, they found the gospel together and moved to Kirtland. Immediately the Prophet Joseph saw potential in this faithful man. Never waivering, never doubting, called as one of the original Twelve and called as Brigham's First Counselor in the First Presidency after the martyrdom for the remainder of his life.
He is buried just North of Temple Square between apartment buildings on his own property in the family cemetery.
Bishop Newel K. Whitney is also buried here, the Second Bishop of the Church and operated the first Bishop's Storehouse in his store in Kirtland. A memorial to him is inscribed on the back of this monument.
