| Bro. Patten is the first martyr of the last dispensation, killed after the battle of Crooked River when the enemy was in retreat, one cowardly Missourian took a shot from behind a tree. Bro. Patten died a few days afterward. There is great strides being taken right now in Far West as to marking the Far West Cemetery and especially Bro. Patten's gravesite in the newly uncovered old town cemetery and other sites with the preserved Far West Temple Site. There are no excavations of graves allowed in this process. | ||||||||||||
