Luis A. Rodriguez - Saxophones

 

Luis Rodriguez is a Jazz Composer who started his studies in the Music Specialize school "Libre de Musica Ernesto Ramos Antonini" in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, where he earned a music diploma and a medal for his outstanding musicianship during his school years. He also studied two and a half years in the music department of the University of Puerto Rico. In 1997 he won a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music where he graduted suma cumlaude on May 2001. He was selected in 1999 to represent Berklee College of Music at the Heineken Jazz Fest in Puerto Rico.

 Luis Rodriguez has earned recognitions from Berklee College and from the NCMLA "National Collegiate Minority Leadership Awards" for his outstanding leadership and musicianship. For the past two years Luis Rodriguez has been teaching and giving private tutoring lessons at Berklee College and The University of Massachussets. Luis has performed in stage with musicians like Tito Puente, Giovanni Hidalgo,Lalo Rodriguez, Victor Mendoza, Oscar Stagnaro, Eggie Castrillo, Bobby Sanabria, David Sanchez, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Walfredo de los Reyes and Paquito D' Rivera among others. Currently his working in a Master’s Degree in Jazz Composition from the University of Massachussets at Amherst.

Eduardo Tancredi - Piano & Vocals

 

    With vast experience conducting vocal groups, he has traveled extensively through Europe and Latin America during the 1980‚s leading the Choral Group Upsala, a group that officially represented his native Uruguay. A graduate of Berklee College of Music and currently an Assistant Professor, Eduardo was a recipient of the Quincy Jones Award in 1991, 1992 and 1993. Also recipient of the Outstanding Latin Act 1991, 92, 94 and 1997, and nominated with group Sonabo for the
Best of World Music from the Boston Phoenix. The Boston Music Awards and Boston Phoenix Music Awards have nominated Eduardo this year. Eduardo is been part of the Sophia‚s Latin Band in
Boston since its opening in June 1998. He is also the musical director of Sonabo, a Latin American Vocal Ensemble that tours regularly throughout the United States.
