Brian sighed and followed, leaving me by myself. Hi, I�m Nick. The only member of BSB not mad at anyone else. I sighed, knowing it wasn�t anyone�s fault. AJ and his girl broke up and he was crying all night long. Kevin had a huge fight with Kristen and Leighanne was going away to shoot a movie. And Howie, I wasn�t quite certain, but like everyone else, he was having girl problems. I slowly put my headset down and followed all the other guys. I watched as Brian took off, not even saying bye. I got in my car and tore to AJ�s house. �God damn Kevin. He doesn�t know what I�m going through,� AJ thought to himself, throwing a picture frame against the wall. It broke and shattered, leaving glass all over the place. �Good one AJ.� I turned around and started at Nick standing in my door way. �What do you want?� �To check to see if you�re okay?� �I�m fine man.� �No, you�re not. AJ, I know what happened last night, she called me up and I came over.� �I didn�t hear you.� �You were asleep. But, I knew you were in pain. And that�s why you did sound like shit today.� �I know, but so did Kevin.� �We all did AJ. You don�t know this, but Kevin and Kristen had a huge fight last night.� I just glanced at Nick. He was right, we all sounded like shit. Maybe this was a sign. �What are you thinking about AJ?� �Maybe this is a sign.� �What kind of sign?� �Maybe we need a break from each other.� Nick stared at me. �I�m sorry, Nick, I�m tired.� �No problem J. I�ll catch you later.� I watched Nick walk out and dragged my ass upstairs.� My house was quite, she left while I was gone. I took a sip of a drink and just stared at our wedding picture. I heard a car pull into the drive, hoping to find Kristen there. I heard the front door open and I turned to see Nick standing there. �What do you want?� �To make sure you�re okay?� �I�m fine.� �Oh yeah, I see the Scotch on the table. I�m well aware that Kristen left Kevin. I�m going to let you in on something. AJ and his girl broke up last night. He spent the whole night crying, which would make any voice sound bad. But, you have to admit that we all sounded like shit.� �I�m well aware of that. Maybe I need a break, hell, maybe we all need a break.� �Kevin, I�m not understanding.� I glanced at Nick and sighed. Everything in life had changed and I wasn�t sure I wanted to keep walking down the same road. �I think we just need to quit for a while. Get out lives organized.� �You know something Kevin, that�s the worse idea and I�m going to make everyone see that.� Nick quickly turned and left my house. I sighed and sat back down, enjoying the drink. The next stop, Brian. I felt bad for my friend cause I knew he didn�t want to be alone. But, he should have gotten married if he didn�t know he was going to be alone. Life wasn�t fair to many people. And I know you fall in love with whom your heart chooses. I sighed as I pulled into Brian�s drive. �He shoots, and misses. Gets the rebound, goes for the three�� �Carter gets the rebound. How are you doing Bri?� I just stared at Nick. �Fine, why?� �I�m aware of Leighanne.� �I�m happy for you.� �Be cool Bri.� �I�m just sad. We finally have time to be together. I planned this nice dinner, do all that romantic stuff and she blows it by saying she�s going away to shoot her movie.� �Damn, I�m sorry man.� �Thanks bro. So, what�s up with everyone else? We sounded horrible.� �Well, AJ and his girl broke up and AJ was crying all night. Kevin was upset cause him and Kristen got into a fight and she left. As for D, I�m not sure.� �He really has no reason to be such a fuckin� jackass.� �Hey Bri, chill. I know something is up, he just didn�t tell me last night.� I sighed and took the ball from Nick. I made a lay up and got it. �Lately, it seem we�re all pushing the wrong buttons. I think I�m going to say with Leighanne.� �How long?� �Till she�s done filming.� �That could be a while.� �I know. I think we need time away from everyone.� �No. You and everyone else is wrong! And trust me, I�m going to show you.� I watched him leave. Was I wrong? No, we really did need this time apart. �Okay, so everyone thought we needed time away. I have to prove we don�t. And how do you do that? By getting the best fans in the whole world,� I thought. I drove up to Howie�s house, feeling a little bit better. I flipped through the T.V. yet nothing was on. Just the same boring stuff. �D?� I turned and saw Nick walking through my door. |
