| �Yeah, sure, have fun. He�s worse then AJ when you wake him up,� Kevin called out to Nick. I turned myself over thinking the phone was ringing in my dream. I opened my eyes and the clock read 10:05. I reached over and picked up the phone. �Hello?� I asked sleepily. �Hi. Did I wake you?� Nick asked. �No Nick. I just sound like this.� �Oh, sorry,� Nick said, sounding a little sad. �It�s okay. Sorry for saying that. So, what can I do for you?� I asked, sitting myself up in bed. �Want to go on a picnic with me and the guys?� �Oh, sounds fun. Do we need to bring anything?� �Yeah, some food. I don�t trust Brian�s or Kevin�s cooking.� �Hey,� they called out in unison. �Okay. We�ll make something,� I said, laughing. �Kay, see ya at 12:30,� Nick said. �Okay. Bye.� �Who was that?� Howie asked. �Oh, Nick,� I said. �We�re going to have a picnic.� �Oh, okay. I�m going back to sleep,� Howie said, turning over. �Nope. You need to help me,� I said. I started tickling him and soon he was up and getting ready so that he could get away. He went to the kitchen while I got dressed. �So, have you thought about what we�re going to take?� I said, giving him a hug. �Probably chicken salad. We don�t have much time, so, anything quick and easy. Will you watch this so I can go take a shower?� �Sure.� I went over to the CD player and put in �Kumbia Kings�. I totally loved to listen AB play the bass. 15 minutes later, Howie was done. �Oh, is that �Kumbia Kings�?� �Yeah. I bought the CD before we came down.� �Oh. Here, let me finish so you can get ready.� I jumped into the shower around 10:45 and when I finally got done getting dressed, it was going on 11:15. I walked out into the living room to find AJ on the couch and Shannon helping Howie. �Oh, I didn�t know you guys had come,� I said, giving Shannon a quick hug. �We just got here. I need to get ready. So with that, I�m off,� Shannon said, going to her room. �Hey AJ,� I said as I sat down next to him on the couch. �Hey girl. What�s up?� he asked, giving me a hug. �Nothing much. And you?� �Oh, nothing much.� I guess we knew each other well enough to know that we were thinking the same thing. �Look,� we said at the same time. �Go ahead,� I told AJ. �Take care of her. And I promise as soon as you guys are done with school, we�ll pick you guys up and take you guys are tour.� �Okay. You promised so, I�m holding you to that,� I said as I gave him another hug. �Excuse me, I know she�s pretty but she�s mine,� Howie said, coming to sit down. �Oh, yeah. Can�t share?� AJ asked. �Hell no,� Howie said as he pulled me closer to him. Shannon had finished by the time we had finished this little joke. �What�s so funny?� she asked. I told what happened and she just laughed. �Sorry guys. She�s mine.� That sent us into another fit of laughter. The timer went off and I went to go finish making the stuff. �Need some help? Shannon asked. �Sure.� By the time we finished everything it was already 12:15. �Okay, let�s go,� Howie said. We are decided on Howie�s car. We reached the park in record time. It would have taken minutes, but Howie got us there in 10. �Look, there�s the guys,� AJ said. We got everything from the car and went to join the group. We sat down and got comfortable. AJ turned on the stereo on and the song �The Hardest Thing,� by 98* came on. We unpacked the lunch and enjoyed. We sat there, eating and talking for 2 hours. The song �I Want It That Way,� came on. �Can I have this dance?� Howie asked me. �Sure.� He offered his hand and helped me up. �Let�s follow them,� AJ said. Shannon grabbed his hand and followed him. During the middle of the song, Brian came up and asked if he could cut in. �Hey Theresa, Howie, may I cut in?� Nick asked. �Sure buddy,� Howie said as he let me go. As the song ended, another song by 98* came on: �Invisible Man�. Nick looked down but still danced. �Nick?� I asked. �What?� he asked, still looking down. �Look at me.� He brought his head up and I looked into his eyes. Why didn�t I notice it before? �Nick.� �It�s okay. I know you love D. But please remember that if he ever hurts you, let me know, and I�ll hurt him,� he said. �Thanks, your such a great friend,� I said as I gave him a kiss on the cheek and a hug. �Brian, um,� Shannon said as she heard the beginning to �Invisible Man�. �No Shannon. I like you. I won�t lie. But I�m not going to try anything. I can see just how much you love Bone. Just know that I�m always going to be here for you.� �Your such a good friend. I know I can always count on you.� �Yeah, just don�t forget us,� he said, laughing. �What? Me forget my Boys!? Never,� Shannon said. She gave him a hug. �If I don�t say this in the future, thanks for being there.� �Your more then welcome.� The song came to an end and we all sat down. �I want to play basketball,� I said. �Can you play?� Nick asked me. �Yeah. Me and Shannon can hold our own,� I answered. |
