| I saw her, every concert in the Phoenix area. I saw her on the last lupus cruise with Howie. She always caught my eyes, though Im not quite sure as to why. She wasnt a size 6, but she was pretty in her own right. Big brown eyes, wonderful smile, nice long legs, and a ghetto booty. AJ. I snapped out of my daze and glanced at my friend. Whats up D? You were staring at that girl Age. You dont remember her? He shifted his gaze and studied her for a few moments. No, do you? Oh yeah! She was at the Backstreet Boy concerts in Phoenix. Shes been on your cruises. Her name is Theresa. And you like her? Shes not your style. Yes, she is. Excuse me. I checked the street and walked up behind her. Now, the number one city of sin is no place for an angel, darlin. She turned around and locked eyes with mine. His voice, that voice! Why was he talking to me for? And why the hell was he calling me an angel? I think you have the wrong person. Nah, Im talking to you, Angel. Good. But, Im not angel. More like a she devil. He laughed and I liked that for his brown eyes shined. You should laugh more. Are you going to do that? I hardly know you AJ. Than I shall take you out so that you know me better, Theresa. Oh, yes, I know you girl. Remember you quite nicely. I smirked to myself. So, he does know, does remember me. But first please answer my question. Why am I in Las Vegas? Yes. Because I go into UNLV. Because Vegas is the perfect place to be. Perfect place to start my life. And what do you want to do in life? To have my magazine. I saw my friend walk out of the store and smiled. I grabbed his hand and jotted down my phone number. Call me. I dialed the number on my hand, so scared. The first time I met her, I hardly talked to her, but I think it was that smile that captivated me. Hello. Oh, hi. Is Theresa there? Let me get her. May I ask whos calling? Alex please. Hold on. I waited a few moments till she came on. Hello? Theresa. Oh, AJ, how are you? Better now. What are you doing this evening? Probably staying at home and vegging, why? Cancel those plans. I want to take you out. Okay, sure. Can you be ready in 45 minutes? I glanced at my watch, seeing the hands move to 6:30 as I awaited her response. Yeah. Oh, let me give you directions. I grabbed the nearby pen and wrote down all she told me. See you Age. Bye. I hung up my phone, a smile tugging at my lips. I got off the phone and stood still for a few moments. Uh, hello! I shook my head and smiled. Was that McLean? Yeah. AJ McLean? As in the fine one from the Backstreet Boys? That would be him. Than I suggest you go get ready because by my count, you have 43 minutes and 29 seconds left to go get ready. How do you know? Duh, I was listening on the other phone, now GO! I ran to my bathroom and quickly took a shower. 40 minutes later, I walked back out. I twirled around, the black skirt flaring around my knees and the blouse sleeves twirling around my elbows. Very nice. Not to rich, not to slutty. Thank you for your precious words, Jennifer. Girl, you look good and you know it. I smiled and headed toward the door. Prince charming awaits. You look outstanding. I blushed and held the door open. I walked into the room, not taking my eyes off this enchantress. She wore this one night at the club on the ship and I loved it on her. AJ, this is one of my best friends, Jennifer. Oh, and Terri, my other best friend. Theyre among the few I convinced to move here with me. Pleasure ladies. I smiled at each in turn but my eyes kept straying back to her. Sorry to be rude, but shall we? Dont wait up girls. I laughed and held my arm out for her. She took a sip of wine and smiled. I have to ask you something, Alex. God, that just rolled off her lips, such a sweet caress. And I hated it when anyone called me Alex. Ill answer anything you want so long as you keep calling me Alex. I took her hand within mine and placed a gentle kiss on the back of it. Im sure any female would understand why you even give them a second glance, but I dont. I dont think Im pretty, dont think Im that smart. What first caught my attention was your smile. She blushed and I smiled at that. Youre special Theresa. And so far you keep proving that. Dont doubt yourself. She bit her lip and tried to smile. Excuse me please. I stood up as she left the table, feeling a hand on my shoulder. |
