Dont worry.  Lets have some fun.  And damn, girl, Nick is looking hot, and hes waiting for you.  Terri laughed and they went and hit the dance floor.
Hey, Theresa, right, from Trinity?  I turned and there stood J.Lo.
Ahh, yes, Jennifer, how are you?
Im good, and yourself?
Im fine.
Just wanted to say, I love that song.  The way you guys redid it, its hot right now.
Im glad you like it Jay.
I love dancing to it. You kick ass on the drums girl.  Maybe you should come play for me.
Sorry, I love my sisters to much.  Sides, they would go nuts without me.
I know.  Oh, hey D.  Good job with the awards tonight.
Thanks Jen.  Ill catch ya around, save me a dance?
Sure, no problem.  I waved and turned around.
A dance?
I love dancing with her.  She knows how to move.
Of course she does.
You dont like J.Lo?
Didnt say that, now did I?
You didnt have to.  I turned and looked at D.
No, Im not a huge fan of J.Lo.  After some shit that got said, I really dont care for her.
Yet you talked to her.
She talked to me first.  I wasnt raised without manners.
Nah, just to act like a bitch.
Whats that supposed to mean?
Theresa, you gotta learn that in this business, you gotta be nice, regardless if you want to be or not.  You never know who can help you out of a bind.
I see.  And Im being a world class bitch.  At least I didnt tell her to fuck off.
Thats true.
Ugh, just go have fun, I said, walking away from him.  He shook his head and went in search of his friends.  I walked to the bar, ordering my favorite drink and walked to the table.  I plopped down and sighed.
You know, you should leave him or just stop fighting.  I glanced up and into some chocolate eyes.
Oh my gosh, Will.
Thats me.
Smith.
Last time I checked.
Hi.  He laughed and sat down.
Do you mind?
Not at all.
Let me first say, Trinity is doing very well.  If you ever want to do a duet, give me a call.  And second, I know this is hard to hear, but D was right.  Sometimes you just gotta be nice.
I wasnt mean, hes just a dick.
You guys fight a lot?
Sometimes.  What about you and Jada?
Yeah, all the time.  I laughed and took a sip of my drink.
You know, the critics may not like your new song, but I love it, I told him.  I laughed as I stopped to hear the opening beats to his single.
Wanna dance?  I looked around, still kinda shock I was rubbing elbows with these people.
Sure.  He lead us to the dance floor and I felt Shannon slide up next to me.
Hey girlie.
Hey Shannon.  Will, Shannon.  They smiled and she left just as quickly.  And once the song finished, he lead me back off and we sat down once again.
Thanks, for saying you like it.
The beat always has me nodding my head.
Thats the whole point.  Hey, I hate to talk and go, but I gotta make the rounds.
Its all good Will.  Ill talk to you later.
Yeah.  Give me a call, for real shorty.  He gave me a quick hug and left.  I sighed, not knowing what to think at all.

I glanced around, looking for my man.  It bugged me that we ended like that.  I was actually feeling bad, until I glanced at the dance floor.  I bit my lip as Ds body flowed with Jennifers.  And yet, could I really blame him?  I mean, we fought, but whos started it?  Him, its always him.  I sighed and sat down at the table.
Dont let him get to you darlin.  I glanced over at AJ and smiled.
Why not?
Cause D aint worth the time.  He wants to be like that, let him.  But that fight, was all his fault.  Hes the one who should come crawlin back.  I smiled and shook my head.  Im off to find my baby and dance.  See ya.  I waved at him and glanced around the room.  P.Diddy, Usher, Ashanti, Ja Rule, the works of the lot were here, the hottest of the music scene.  I saw Missy as well as Lil Kim talking about something over by the bar.  I liked this setting.  No flashing lights, no damn press.  You could be yourself.  You could do anything, and the only way word was going to get around, was through the throng of people.  And they didnt see and tell.  My eyes fell toward that dance floor and I cursed myself.  You knew he was having a grand time and you were here, acting like a fan.  Well, maybe you still were a fan.  But at the same time, you were the singer now too.
Hey girl, how are you feeling?
Missy, what a pleasure.  Im great, and you?
Im having fun.  Theresa, Lil Kim.  I shook her hand as she sat down.
You know, this is so amazing.
What is?
The fact that Im talking to people like you Missy.  I mean, Im rubbing elbows with the stars.  It seems like not to long ago, we were just fooling around.
Oh, the shot to stardom.  Yeah, it comes rather fast.  But its a blast when you stay up there.  I saw you sittin here all alone, so Id thought I would come say hi.
Thanks.
Wheres D at?  I glanced at Lil Kim and smiled.
On the dance floor.
With J.Lo.  I saw Missy look at someone and than nod her head.
Yeah.
