Yeah, yeah, okay, you know, shut up please, Jennifer said.  They shook their head and in silence we left for the airport.  Even there they wouldnt talk to us.  Once we landed though, and our heads still pounding, they couldnt keep quiet any longer.
What if the fuckin press saw you? Terri raged out.
And its all over the papers? Megan chimed in.
You guys need to grow up.  Fuck, I cant believe you guys! Shannon reared out as well.
Fuck, arent we adults.  Were legal to drink.  We didnt even drink at the club.  At least we waited.   And why shouldnt we have fun?  Were allowed to, I yelled back.
I know.  Im 25, I think I know what I can do and cant do, Jennifer said.  I rolled my eyes and walked away from them.  Jennifer did the same and we met up with the guys.
Whats going on? AJ asked.
We went out last night, went back to the hotel, and THERE, got drunk.  Now, theyre having a big ass fit about it, I answered.  AJ just stared at me and shook his head.
Whatever, Jennifer mumbled.  I nodded my head and leaned against D.  Lets go home, she said.

A month and a half later, we waited as the limo stopped and we heard the screams, the screams of all the fans who made the trip out to see to their favorite stars.  It was officially, the MTV Music Awards.  We stepped out of the limo, the Boys stepping right behind us.  We smiled at all the cameras and waved as we passed by the fans.  One of the reporters from some magazine pulled Jennifer, Kevin, Terri and Nick over.  Serena from MTV pulled D and I over.
Hey guys.
Hi, I said.
Excited?
Thats not even the feeling.  Nervous, overwhelmed.  Yeah, excited.
Nervous?  Why?
Cause this is a huge deal.  This is our first award show and were up against the Boys.
Yes.  Well good luck, both to Trinity and to the Backstreet Boys.
Thanks Serena, D said, smiling at her.
Yes, thanks.  We waved bye and hooked up with the group again.  We quickly found our seats, good seats of the stage.  I took a deep breath, getting the end seat.  I glanced around us, checking everything out.
You look wonderful, D said.  I smiled at him and gave him a kiss.
Thank you baby.  I bite my lip and felt someone touch my bear shoulder.  I turned around and found Hayden there.  I just about coughed.
Just wanted to say good luck tonight.  And to you too Howie, Hayden said, shaking Howies hand.
Thanks Hayden.
What are you doing here?
Oh, Im presenting an award.  Best Single.  I blushed slightly and smiled.
Than Im sure well see ya than.  The lights dimmed and he smiled back.
Yeah.  Bye.  I waved bye and felt Ds eyes on me.
What?
You guys became good friends?
Not really.  Ive just been seeing him around a lot.  Kinda surprised, you know?
At seeing all the stars?
Yeah.
Quite down there, Jennifer said, seating on the other side of Howie.  I glanced at her, and the rest of the girls, and smiled.

Deep breath, in, out, no coughing Megan, Terri said.
I cant help it.  This is big!  Huge!  I cant remember the song, Megan cried out.  I laughed and coughed.
Come on.  Dont think of them.  Were back home, jamming out, I said.
I can think like that, she said, nodding her head.  We took our positions and watched as the lights dimmed.  I waited a few seconds, listening to the clapping and finally counted us off.  My sticks hit the drum and let the beat go on for a few bars.  Slowly, the keys and the guitars came through.  Than Terris voice filtered over the speakers.
First I was afraid/ I was petrified/ Kept thinking I could never live/ Without you by my side/ But I spent so many nights/ Thinking how you did me wrong  I glanced over at Terri, than at Jennifer, the one who came in with her.
I grew strong/ I learned how to carry on/ And so you're back/ From outer space  I glanced at Shannon and smiled as she smiled at me.  We all joined in, our voices mixing together nicely.
I just walked in to find you here/ With that sad look upon your face/ I should have changed my stupid lock/ I should have made you leave your key/ If I had known for just one second/ You'd be back to bother me   I did a roll off, hitting one symbol and smiled as the we picked up a little more speed.  Terri smiled back at us and started a little dance, which Megan and Shannon picked up on and followed her.  Terris voice once again started off the chorus, and us picking up with the third line.
Go on now go walk out the door/ Just turn around now/ 'Cause you're not welcome anymore/ Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye/ You think I'd crumble/ You think I'd lay down and die/ Oh no, not I/ I will survive/ As long as I know how to love/ I know I will stay alive/ I've got all my life to live/ I've got all my love to give/ And I'll survive/ I will survive   I softly hit my drums, letting Jennifer have a key solo for a few seconds, rocking the keys.  The crowd cheered and we beamed.  Than Shannons riff took over, as her fingers moved over the strings.  Than Shannons voice came through the speakers as she took the leads for this part.
It took all the strength I had/ Not to fall apart/ Kept trying hard to mend/ The pieces of my broken heart  I heard Megans voice as it blended so wonderfully with Shannons.
And I spent oh so many nights/ Just feeling sorry for myself/ I used to cry/ Now I hold my head up high  I played a riff with Megan and she smiled back at me, almost missing the opening for us to begin singing again.
And you see me/ Somebody new/ I'm not that chained up little person/ Still in love with you/ And so you felt like dropping in/ And just expect me to be free/ Now I'm saving all my loving/ For someone who's loving me   We all played for the chorus, and Terri, Shannon, and Megan, all went back to dancing.
Go on now go walk out the door/ Just turn around now/ 'Cause you're not welcome anymore/ Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye/ You think I'd crumble/ You think I'd lay down and die/ Oh no, not I/ I will survive/ As long as I know how to love/ I know I will stay alive/ I've got all my life to live/ I've got all my love to give/ And I'll survive/ I will survive   I slowed down as did Jennifer and we softly finished off the song.  The crowd stood up and cheered, clapping as loud as they good.  We waved bye and walked offstage.  I beamed, loving that feeling.
Oh good Lord, Megan said, jumping up and down.
That rocked, I yelled.
