Nothing, he bit out.  I sighed and just looked around us at the restaurant.  It was our anniversary, just of being together and at this moment, it sucked.  I saw a little girl glance at me and she waved.  I waved back and smiled, and once again, looked at D.  His eyes locked with mine and he smiled.  Im sorry baby, just, I got told something today, and Im not all to sure I like it.  He played with my wedding band.
What did you get told honey?
Really, I just want to forget about it.  Just want to look at you, think only of you.
Howie, dont lie, youre never very good at it.
I know.  But, I really do want to think of us.
Deal.  Just at least tell me who it has to deal with it.
AJ.  I nodded my head, taking another sip of wine.  I pulled it away and smiled at him.  He smiled back, our loving shining in our eyes.

Is Howie okay?  I turned around and stared at the man standing there.
Im not all to sure.  Hes rather upset these last couple of days.
I figured out as much, but he wouldnt tell me why.
He hasnt told me much either.  Would you like to come in bro, you dont have to stand in the doorway.
No, I just came by to see if everything was okay with you too.  I was on my way out.
For what?
Shopping.
Well, okay than.
Want anything?  I thought about it for a moment and smiled.
Some really cool shades.  He shook his head, yet grinned.
No problem girlie.  Later.
Bye.  I shook my head and went back to watching the TV.

He swung his bag back and forth, looking through the windows and watched as her face lit up seeing a nice ass outfit.
I have to have this.
Than get it Megan.
But, what if AJ dont like it?  He rolled his eyes.
Does it really matter if AJ likes it girl?
Not in the least Brian.  Brian watched as she quickly took it off the hook and walked back to go try it on.  He glanced through some clothes, not finding anything he liked for his girl.  Megan walked back out and spun around for him.  Brian nodded his head and smiled.
Looks rather nice.
Than Im for sure getting it.  Thanks.  Megan smiled quickly and walked back to change.  She walked out a few moments later, clothes all in hand.  She quickly paid and they walked out.  They talked for hours on end about the Boys and about Trinity.  Funny, that was another relationship that seemed to bubble up like nothing.  Brian joked around with her and she joked back.  A true friend, he often thought.  He smiled to himself, said something and she lightly nudged him.  He kept one hand in his pocket, his other holding the few bags they both had.  When they finally checked the time, they both found it time to be heading back.

How can you say that AJ?  She is so not pretty!
She is too!
In what sense man?  AJ just rolled his eyes and shook his head.
In that fact that shes nice and Lord knows has a nice ass body.
Ugh, men!  Thats all they tend to care about.
Not all of us.  Shannon just shook her head, keeping her feet on his lap.  He kept his arms around her leg as they watched BET.  What?
Nothing, just men!
Yeah, but you love us.
Some of you.
Does that mean you dont love me?  Shannon thought about it very hard for a few moments.  Im taking offense to that you damn bitch.
Queen Bitch please and yes, I do.  Other than the girls, youre like my bestest friend.  AJ put his hand over his heart and wiped an invisible tear away.
So very sweet.  I think Im gonna cry.
Oh, fuck you McLean.
When and where baby?  Shannon just laughed and shoved the pillow she was leaning on into his chest.  She glanced up as Brian walked into the room and just looked at them.
Comfty?
Yeah.  Were talking about the people in the music business.  He fails to see how I find people like Ja Rule and Nelly damn fine.  Brian just rolled his eyes.
Dont try to understand AJ.  Just let her be. AJ just laughed and got up.
I think Im gonna see what all Megan decided on buying.
Nothing to much, Brian said, laughing.  AJ just shook his head and left the room.  Brian smiled at Shannon.  Have fun?
Of course.  Sometimes its just nice to kick back and relax.
Yeah, that is.  Brian frowned at a thought that was going through his mind but quickly dismissed it.

I walked out of my bedroom and picked up the phone that was ringing off the hook.
Hello?
Oh, mama D, whats wrong?
I need to speak to Howard, please?
Sure mom.  I handed the phone to Howie and he just looked at me and I shrugged my shoulders.
Whats up mom?  His expression changed from one to neutral to disbelief and finally to a look of sheer pain.  On this end, I knew something was wrong and something was saddening him, but no clue as to what.  With just one month left in the tour, we were ready to go home for at least for a few days, and all we had left was just to finish off our U.S. tour.  Yeah mom.  As soon as I can, yeah, hopefully tomorrow.  A crack of thunder stopped him for a second.  Possibly later.  I think were about to get hit with a storm.  Of course mom.  Yeah, Ill wish her soul well.  Yes mom.  Love you too.  Good night.  He hung up the phone and hung his head.
Whats wrong baby?  He shook his head and walked away from my touch.
Dont fuckin touch me.  I jumped back, not knowing what to do at all.
Howie, dont push me away, what happened?
My grandmother just passed away.  I need to leave.
I can leave with you, take a leave of absence.
No, please dont.  I glanced at him, my heart wrenching within my chest.
