| �What are we doing tonight?� I asked. I glanced around the room, a bunch of tired faces. �Anyone?� �Resa, let�s just go to bed,� Terri said. �I�m game with that,� Jennifer said, nodding her head. I rolled my eyes and sighed. �We�re tired, we�ve worked really hard,� Megan complained. �I�m game for going out,� AJ said, nodding his head. �You don�t mind baby?� �Not in the least. Have loads of fun baby,� Megan said, placing a kiss on his cheek. He smiled at her, yet his eyes trained on someone else. Her eyes stayed on them and I vowed to learn her secret. �I�ll go baby,� Howie said, pulling me on his lap. �Anyone else?� �I�m far from tired! I can party!� Shannon said. She glanced at Brian and just shook his head. �Sorry love, count me out. This cold is kicking my ass.� �I�m sorry. Want me to stay�� �No, I�m just going to bed. Have fun.� He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, waved good night and walked into his room. I glanced around the room, knowing Nick and Kevin were to tired. �The four of us is fine.� We bid our good bye�s and left the hotel room. I stood back, observing the three other people. They were in a deep conversation and I didn�t want to intrude. I lifted my eyes up from them and glanced at the crowd. No one cared who was here and that was a good thing. I watched this little group again and felt Howie place his hand on my leg. He smiled at me and I smiled back. Life, I believe, was what they were talking about. I lifted Howie�s hand away and quickly got up. I walked over to the bar, watching the crowd. �You having fun?� I held my hand in a fist and slowly turned around. �Britney, how are you doing? �I�m fine. But, I want to know something, did you marry Howie?� �If I didn�t, or did, it�s no ones business.� �I don�t think you did. I honestly think he knows he can do better. Maybe someone like Jennifer.� I just smiled and shook my head. �They�re friends Spears.� �And your point?� �Look, me and Howie are nothing like you and Justin. When it comes to us, we don�t have to lie and look stupid.� �I look stupid?� �You know you do. But, whatever. You have nothing to say�� �Well, yes I do. I wanted to say I�m sorry.� �Okay, thank you.� I moved to walk away and she grabbed my arm. I looked down at her hand and back up to her. �You�re supposed to say you�re sorry back.� �Let me think, um, no. For me to say that, Britney, means I regret what I said and that I want to take it back. But, I�m not sorry, not in the least.� I snatched my arm away and walked back to the table. As any time before, the moment we set foot in the room, flashes were going off. A month from the start of our tour and we were tried. The news, the shows, the endless interviews, it just never stopped. We took our seats and waited for the questions to start. �Bob here. Theresa, is it true that you ran into Britney Spears a while ago?� �Yes.� �And isn�t it true you spoke to her?� �Yes.� �What was said?� �She apologized for the things she said. Nothing to much went on afterwards.� �Thank you.� Shannon looked over at me and I mouthed �the club�. �Hi. �Let Dog�s Lie�, your second album is, and well, has been, at number one, how do you guys feel?� �Scott, right?� Terri asked. The young man just nodded his head. �We�re loving it. We had more control for this one, wrote a lot more songs.� �Sally. �Let Dog�s Lie� was the first single and it raced up the charts and stayed there, only to be knocked out by your second single �Love�. Currently, �Love� still holds that spot, how do you guys like that?� �I can�t believe it. Trinity broke a record. Well, if �Why Fight� does the same. I guess you never look upon yourself as someone who made a great impact but we have. I truly is a wonderful feeling,� Shannon said, having a huge smile on her face. �George. Theresa, you wrote �Why Fight�, how come?� �As many of the fans know, D and I were always fighting. He was, is, the love of my life. And when we broke up, it hurt beyond words. So, I thought a song expressing my feelings would be good.� �And are you ready to admit you two are married?� I could only laugh. �I still don�t think the press needs to know everything, but I can tell you we�re happily engaged.� �Debbie. Why did you release �Why Fight�?� �We got a lot of fan mail stating that song helped them threw their fights. No matter if it was parents and kids or lovers. We figured it helped them maybe it could help everyone, or at least someone,� Megan said. �Kim here. You guys have been in this business for a while, what�s some advice for people who are starting?� We just all glanced at each other. �You never know everything. People who have advice are people who know what�s going on. So, just don�t leave it in the air. We�ve been going strong and still take advice from people,� Jennifer said. We all smiled, fully agreeing on that answer. �Veronica, any chance Trinity might be breaking up?� �Those are lies, just rumors,� I stated. �We enjoy our friendship, enjoy our fans. And unless we cheat when another member�s man, than we�ll be together,� Shannon said, laughing. �Bobbie, does it matter who sings the leads?� �Not at all,� Terri answered. �Who picks the person to sing?� �We draw names out of a hat.� She laughed at that. �We know the voices well enough to know who can sing the part right. Happy, strong, sad�the list go on and on.� We watched, as once again, the flashes were going off. The press conference was done. I smiled to myself as we left the building, walking out the awaiting limo. �Not so bad,� Jennifer said. �True, I�ll even give them props,� I said, laughing. I sipped my wine and looked at Howie. His eyes were red, and I knew he wasn�t tired, so he was angry. �What�s wrong?� |
