Oh, yes, to the wench, he was with.  I strangled her.  I got the telephone wire and tied it.  I laughed as she clawed it, trying to breathe.  I bite my lip and watched all the emotions play on his face.  He was scared, angry and enthralled, all at the same time.
Well, thank you for clearing that up.
Oh, my pleasure.  He quickly turned on his heel and walked out of the kitchen.  I laughed and shook my head.  Eh, maybe saying something wouldnt be so bad, my mind told me.

Kevin, what did Theresa do?
What do you mean Nick?
You only told us that Theresa went to trail, you didnt say she committed murder in the 1st degree.
The judges didnt say she did.  She was trailed with attempted murder.
Than shes lying.  She just told me it was in the 1st degree.  Kevin shook his head and headed into the kitchen, along with the three other guys following him.
What the hell are you telling people?  I turned around and stared at everyone.
Im not telling them anything.  You seem to be loving the fact that Im an ex-convict.
Cause you are.
Yes, I am.  I did five years at Miami State.
You did it here? AJ asked me, disbelief written in his eyes.
Yes, I did.
And Howie knew?
Yes, AJ, Howie knew.  Remember when he was gone for a month? Yeah, he went to my trail.
I cant believe he didnt tell us he was holding a prisoner here.
Oh, wait, no, I didnt escape, I got out on good behavior.
Whatever the point is, youre an ex-convict Theresa.  Thats something we dont want to be mixing with.  I folded my arms over my chest and looked at Kevin.  He stared me down, finally turning away.
Do you all feel that way?
Well, its not a typical thing for us, Brian started.
Of course, reject the unfamiliar.  Trust me, I know that all to well.  Ive dealt with ass holes like you all my life.  You know what, give me an hour, Ill get my shit and Ill leave you guys alone to deal with your happy little lives.  But you know what, you just lost one of your biggest fans.  And I hold a lot of power in the fan department, so if you see your sales drop, dont wonder why.  I turned away from them and stomped up the stairs.

Resa?  I turned away from the bar and stared him in the eye.
Howie, what are you doing here?
Looking for you.
Oh, um, you found me.  I needed a job.
So you do what, exactly?  I looked down at the skimpy skirt, the knee high boots, the bra that was barley containing my breasts.
A waitress, so to speak, I guess.
Here?
You know, I spent another two weeks after I left your place, trying to find a decent job.  But with a record, you dont get those.  You have to start from the bottom and work yourself up.
I dont want you working here anymore.
Just what right do you have to tell me that?
I supported you when you needed it?
And?  You dont own me, you dont date me and surely dont stand up for me amongst your friends, so I ask again, what right do you have to that?
Put like that, I dont.
No, you dont.  You helped a friend in need and I can never repay you.  You and I both know that.  But I was not going to stay with you and have your friends snicker behind my back.  Sides, they all but kicked me out on my ass.
What do you mean?
Oh, they didnt tell you huh?  Have a seat, Ill explain it all.

He stormed into Kevins house without knocking.  Sure to his thoughts, they were all seated in Kevins living room.
Thought you were going out tonight?
I did Alex, and I found what I was looking for.
And what was that?
The woman that I love that was working in the worst place possible.
You love?  Thought you loved Jennifer?
No, that wasnt love.  That was buying time.  Time for you to accept her.
Her? Kevin asked, raising his eyebrow.
Yes, you ass.  Theresa.  All eyes opened wide and all mouths hung open.  I have loved her for almost six years.
But shes
I know what she is AJ.  I know why she was put there.  Because the judge and the jury were stupid.  She didnt commit murder damn it.  It was fuckin self-defense.
He died in that bed, Howie.  Howie rolled his eyes at Kevin.
And you didnt listen to her, Im guessing.  He raped her Kevin, not once, not twice, but three times.  Three times, you ass hole!  And finally, she tries her best to defend herself, she beats him, knocks him upside his head, he falls down the stairs and dies in the bed.  And what happened to her.  She was told she was never gonna have kids because of how rough he was.  The original case had dropped the charges against her, called it self defense.  But because he died, she got slapped with murder.  Hauled off to prison for five years, because of some people who were stupid.  I honestly thought you could guys would at least ask me before you assumed anything and went to her.  They sat there, stunned.  No one could say anything.  After all, what was left to say?
Howie, I didnt
You didnt know, right Kevin?  Howie shook his head, his temper fading.  I can only ask you to accept her.  I know its hard to look past that ex-con part of her.  But shes an amazing woman who had a rough time.  And you guys didnt help any.  And when she told me what you guys said, I was ashamed to call you friends.  In the past, what 13 years, I have never been ashamed of you all.  Im not ashamed of her or what she did.  She didnt fight the systems, she got out on good behavior.  If nothing else, that has to count for something in your eyes.  He turned his back and walked back out the door, closing it behind him.

Theresa Lambe?  I stared up at the officer as she unlocked the door.  You made bail.  And young lady, by the looks of this one, I would suggest you stay outta here.
