| �You woke him up?� Nick asked me. �Yeah. Theresa�s charm always wakes anyone up.� �And what�s that?� Kevin asked. �I give you three chances to wake up.� �And if you don�t?� Brian asked. Before I could respond, AJ walked through, rubbing his stomach. �Then she jumps down on your stomach,� AJ answered. �Get used to it. She may do it a lot,� Shannon butted in. �Shannon, how dare you. You know�okay, you know that�s true but still. I�m sorry AJ. I didn�t mean to hurt you.� �I�ll live,� he mumbled. We just laughed but quieted down when he shot us an evil look. �Okay, what are we doing today?� I asked. �Whatever,� everyone just mumbled. �I want to go shopping,� I told everyone. �I�ll go,� Shannon said. I just glanced around at everyone. �Anyone else?� I asked. Everyone just shook their heads. �Fine. It�s a girls day then.� I went into my bedroom and started thinking. I didn�t even realize that anyone had come in. �Theresa?� I jumped in the air and turned around. �Yeah Howie?� �Are you okay. You were in here for like thirty minutes.� �Really? Wow, I didn�t even know. But yeah, I�m all right. I was just thinking.� �Okay. Everybody left. Shannon said she�d be back around 11:00, okay?� �Yeah. What time is it now?� �Um, 9:15.� �Okay. I�m going to lay down, care to join me?� �Sure,� he said, throwing me a smile. I woke up when I heard someone on the door. I glanced around and saw Howie asleep. I got up and found Shannon there. �Aren�t you ready?� she asked. I just shook my head �no�. �Give me 30 minutes, kay?� �Yeah.� Thirty minutes later, we were in the limo heading to the mall. �You know Resa, we have done tons of shopping in the last week. Why are we doing it again today?� �I figured we needed to talk, just you and me. Shopping was just something to do.� �I see now.� Shortly after this, we arrived at the mall. �I�m hungry.� �So am I.� We both headed to the food court. �Chinese,� we said at the same time. We glanced at each other and laughed. We ordered our food and found a place to eat. We started talking about little stuff before we started talking about our problems. �Shannon?� �Yeah Resa?� �Brian?� She just sighed and looked down at her food. �Theresa, have you ever kissed somebody and felt like something was missing?� �Yeah.� �That�s how I feel about Brian. I mean, I do feel things when we kiss, but I just feel like something isn�t right.� �Well, girl, the best thing I can say is give it time.� �I know. So, moving on, how are things with you?� �Well, um, I guess everything is okay.� �Nope.� �Okay, everything is fine.� �Your really not going to tell me what happened yesterday, are you?� �Nothing happened.� �Fine.� She left it at that and decided neither one of us was hungry anymore. �So, Squeaky, where do you want to go?� �I don�t care Resa. Actually, let�s just walk around?� �Sure.� We got up and threw our food away and started walking. Two weeks passed and AJ and Shannon became close friends. We were walking in a park and of course, Brian and Shannon were in their own world. �Wanna go out tonight?� Brian asked Shannon. �Sure. Dinner?� She felt Brian wrap his arms around her waist from behind. �Sounds good to me,� he said. �Shannon, can we just sit down and talk?� �Sure Bri.� Brian grabbed her hand and led her over to the bench. �Sweetheart, I think we need to talk.� �What about?� �Shannon, I�Okay, I think�.No, Shannon, I care for you a lot, I love you but�� �Brian, let me take a guess at what you�re trying to say, okay?� Brian just looked at her, but nodded his head. �Okay then. Brian, I care for you. And I love you too. But not in the boyfriend sense. I think we are better just as friends.� �Yeah, I think so too. Actually, I guess I felt like that for a while.� �Yeah. I wasn�t sure how you felt. I felt the same way. Maybe it�s because we are more like friends.� �True. Well, I�m glad you don�t feel bad.� �Same here.� Shannon looked down, thinking how badly she wanted her real guy. �Shannon, what�s wrong?� Brian asked. �How pissed would you be if I wanted to go out with AJ?� �What? Pissed? Never. If you want to go out with AJ, that�s cool. I think you guys would be totally great.� �Thanks Bri Bear.� Shannon gave him a hug and then glanced over at AJ. He was talking to Howie and had his head down. �Bri, I�m going to go and talk with AJ.� �Sure.� She gave him a peck on the cheek and got off the bench. �D, look at her. She�s happy with B-Rok. Face it man, I don�t have a chance.� �AJ, man, you just need to stop. Why can�t you trust your best friends?� �I do.� �No, you don�t,� I said, coming behind Howie. I wrapped my arms around his neck from behind and gave him a hug. He grabbed my arm and pulled me in front of him. I looked at him and he smiled as he pulled me down on his lap. �Let�s not get to comfortable,� I whispered into his ear. He just looked at me but than saw Shannon walk away from Brian. |
