I walked over to her and grabbed her shoulders. I turned her around and wiped the tears off her face. I gently kissed the tip of her nose. �Theresa, you�re everything to me. I�ve loved you, God, I don�t know how long.� �Are you serious Howie?� �So very serious.� I smiled as she smiled. She threw her arms around my neck and I laughed. I hugged her back and we slowly let go and just stared into each other eyes. It was seeing something new, or maybe just seeing something that was always there, just now expressed. We slowly leaned into one another and our lips met for our first kiss. Gentle and sweet yet loving and passionate. My head pounded and my heart exploded. The stars shone brighter and the waves crashed louder. Music was happier and children were laughing. The kiss was prefect. And once we pulled away, I knew I was finally happy. We had the start of a wonderful song. I couldn�t believe that he loved me. It was magic. It was something I always dreamed and here it was, coming true. We could be a happy family. Maybe that was pushing it, but we could still be happy. I felt him kiss my arm and I looked down at him. Everything about him, was perfect. I leaned my head down and we shared our second kiss. My head got dizzy and I could feel my body become weak. I only prayed that all our kisses weren�t like this or I would never live. We pulled away and just stared into each other eye�s. I stroked his cheek and he stroked my arm. I smiled and he smiled back. He was happy that Howie was going to be in our life more, if that was possible. I put my arm around Howie�s waist and my other arm around Dwayne�s shoulders. The two most important men in my life. Dwayne ran over to Howie and grabbed his leg. Howie looked down and picked him up. Dwayne laughed and I just about cried. They were already close. Everyone has always told me that friends make the best lovers. So far, this relationship is proving them right. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 10 years and three kids later, I can still sit here and remember when we wrote our song. The Boys put it on their Black and Blue album and released it as their final single off that album. It was still being played on the radio and that was nine years ago. A lot of DJ�s said it was one of the ultimate love songs. As for the Boys, talk about going strong. Dwayne loves their older music and I can hear him jam to songs like, �We�ve Got It Goin� On� or �Everbody (Backstreet�s Back)�. It amused me to the point of no end. Exactly one year later after the release of �How Did I Fall In Love With You� Howie and I got married. That was played as our song. My magazine is doing well. I love working there and the kids, they love making a mess there. I watched as D took a break from the kids and sat down next to me. He grabbed my hand and kissed it. �What are you thinking about?� �Just the past.� �Yeah. Been a wonderful road.� �That it has.� He smiled, gave me a kiss and ran after the children. I glanced down at my hand. Howie and I made a vow, almost like a dare to each other. We were to get some kind of tattoos that had the words to our song on it. He got a music line and wrote the words on it and it became an arm band. His only tattoo. As for me, I took the Spanish way and used the initials and put them on my fingers: C.M.E.D.T, meaning: Cuando Me Enomore De Ti. |
