Okay, Mr.Pearlman, Ill let her know. Oh no we wouldnt mind protecting them for the Millennium tour. Yes, for both the U.S. and over seas. Yes, yes, okay, bye now Mr.Pearlman. I hung up the phone and, leaned back in my chair and sighed. My door opened and Shannon walked in. Whats that look for? she asked me, setting down the food. Shannon, we have to protect the Backstreet Boys for their Millennium tour. She just looked at me and shook her head. Youre kidding right? she asked me. Nope. Oh fuck. I dont want to do that. Too many screamin fans. Yes, Shannon, I know. But still, I gave Lou our word. Fine, whatever, she mumbled. So, how many men do you think were going to need? Um, 1,000. I just gave her a look. Be serious Squeaky. Fine. Um, about, to make a good team, 50. I thought about it and nodded my head. Go pick them while I start setting things up. She just nodded her head. She grabbed her food and went to her office. I sighed again and turned to my computer. God, I dont want to do this, I thought. Two weeks later we were at Lous office. I glanced at Lou, wondering how I let him talk me into this. I quickly glanced at Shannon as the five boys walked into the room with one girl. Okay guys, this is your new security team, L&L Top Notch, Theresa and Shannon. Girls, this is Brian, AJ, Kevin, Nick, Howie and Claudia. I glanced at them and quickly smiled. How fun, I thought. I glanced over at Shannon and nodded my head. She quickly began talking about how things were going to work with us and who was doing what. Okay, now, any questions? she asked. Are we going to have personal bodyguards? Brian asked. You might, depending. Were very open when it comes to these things. There will be times when all you need is just a few guys or you might need a group. But again, just depends. Thats why we wish you let us know if you guys plan on doing anything. If you dont want to, you can have a personal bodyguard, I answered. They nodded their heads and I glanced at Shannon. She looked up and smiled. Anything else? she asked. Everyone was good and Lou finally talked. Tour starts in a month, he said. He got up and walked out of the room. Just great, I heard Shannon mumble. I feel the same way, I told her. She looked at me and we both started laughing. So, what do you want to do for lunch? I heard AJ ask right behind us. I looked back and the guys were talking. What are you going to do? Shannon asked me. Probably head back to the office. And you? Oh, sleep. Late night last night. I just shot her a look and we quickly busted out laughing again. Hey Theresa, Shannon, want to come with us? Kevin asked. No thank you Kevin. I have to settle some things at the office. And I have some things at home to do, Shannon said. I went back to getting things together. Im going to go. Everything is here, Shannon said. I just nodded my head. I heard her say bye and then heard the door close. What are you going to do? Nick came up behind me. Oh, some programs need to be started, make sure everything is intact and working. That kind of stuff. Oh, okay. Just wondering. Come on Kaos, Brian shouted from the door. Coming. Later girl, he said. I turned around and waved. I finished gathering things up and sighed. They think they are like, Gods or something, I thought. Yeah, we stay grounded. We havent changed, I thought, quoting what they said in my mind. What are you thinking about? someone asked from behind me. I turned around and there was Howie. Oh, nothing. Just checking things in my mind. Oh, okay. You guys arent like, always going to be around, right? I just gave him this odd look. My job is to make sure youre safe. Now, if that means that I have to follow you around, well, looks like Ill have to. Whatever. I just hope you keep yourself away from us. Well, I hope I can too. TO be honest, I know I will. Im sure I dont want to hang around you so much. Lord, Ill become deaf. You know, Claudia was right. You are a bitch. Yeah, just like youre a ass-hole Sweet D.. With that I turned around, grabbed everything and started for the door. See ya in a month, I said. I walked down the hall and out to my car. I dont fuckin believe this shit, I yelled as I drove to the airport. I repeat, Im not in anyway, shape or form, going to be that ass-holes bodyguard. Theresa, calm down. You have no choice, Shannon said. Fuck, I hate this, I mumbled. I pulled up in one of the parking spaces and got out. 15 minutes later, we were at the gate, ready to board the plane. He guys, AJ said, sitting in his seat. Shannon waved and went to sit next to him. They werent supposed to become friends, I thought. I took my seat, which was behind Howie and next to Kevin. I sat down and glanced out the window. 3 months of this shit, I said quietly. If you didnt like it, why did you take the job? Nick asked me. I looked up and saw him sitting on the other side of Kevin. Its not that I dont like it. But.wellokay, Lou is a friend and he asked us and I couldnt tell him no. I see. So, whats the problem? Kevin asked. This jerk up here, I said, pointing at Howie. D? Nick asked. What? Howie asked, turning around in his seat. Do you know who your personal guard is? I asked, staring out the window. No, Lou never told me. Didnt think he would either. You know, so tell me. I turned and looked at him, a major smile on my face. Oh God, such fuckin luck. Anyone but you, please. |
