| �Hi there. So, how are you.� He saw Theresa raise an eyebrow at Megan and then smiled at him. �Oh, I�m great. I feel better now that I got in my nightly fight. I mean, some guy thinking they can hit on the waitress or something like that.� �You must lead an exciting life then?� �Well, I don�t know on that one.� �Theresa, if�� �Coming Linda,� Theresa said cutting off the women. �Hey Megan, AJ, I�ll talk to ya later, okay?� �Yeah, wait you only have like 30 minutes, you do know that right?� �Yeah. See ya then.� Megan watched Theresa go. She just sighed and wonder when Theresa would get out of this job. �Earth to Megan.� �Sorry. Just thinking about Theresa.� �Oh, I see. I�m hurt now that you weren�t thinking about me.� �Ah, I still like you AJ.� Megan just looked into his eyes and once again got lost. She suddenly felt his lips on hers. And it was a soft kiss, one that she would remember forever. �Excuse me,� someone said. They looked up and saw Howie and Brian. �Oh, hey guys. Megan, this is D and Bri.� �Nice to met you,� D said, extending his hand. �You too.� Brian just smiled at her and sat down. They talked for the next few minutes. Finally Megan noticed that it was going on 2:00 and Theresa hadn�t returned yet. �Hey, AJ, have you seen Theresa?� �Theresa? No, why?� he asked. �Well, she was supposed to be off at 1:00.� Everybody started searching the room and they never saw her. �I�ll go check outside okay?� AJ asked. �Yeah.� AJ left the table and walked outside. He looked around and didn�t see anything. He then decided that he should turn left. He did, and then saw a dark alley. �God, please let her be happy,� he thought. �So, you think you could be a tough little bitch, huh?� he heard someone saying. �Oh God. Damn, why did you come back out here. I told you once to leave me alone. Don�t you understand English?� �God, she�s good at insulting people,� he thought. �Oh, your going to pay for that you little whore.� And then he heard a slap and a figure fall to ground. He walked a few feet and saw it was Theresa. She looked up and smiled at him. Theresa fell to ground. �Okay, tough bitch. Get out of this one,� Theresa told herself. She looked up and saw AJ there. She smiled at him and he just looked at her. �Oh, don�t tell me he�s scared.� �Okay, come on now. Let�s see what you got,� the guy said again. She was getting up when he pushed her against the wall. Now, she was scared. She was going to knee him, but he pressed his legs against hers, knowing she was going to do that. She had no way out of this. Finally she closed her eyes and then felt the grip loosen on her arms. She opened her eyes and saw the guy on the ground, AJ standing over him. �Thanks AJ,� she said, throwing him a smile. �Hey, no problem. But come on, Megan was looking for you.� �Oh she was?� �Yeah. You do know it�s already going on 2:30,right?� �No, I didn�t. Thanks.� They walked back to the club and she saw Linda searching for her. �Theresa,� she called out when she found her. �Yes Linda?� �Phone call.� She walked over to the counter and saw Megan following her. Theresa picked up the phone and just said �yeah.� After a few more moments, she hung up. �Who was that?� �That? Karrie. She said the kids didn�t want to be there and they were being annoying. Look Megan, I have to work until close. Can you go pick them up?� �Sure. I guess the party was done since you were working.� �You know I�m so sorry. Thanks.� �Hey, how will you get home?� �The buses start around 8:00. I�ll just wait a few hours.� �I�ll come back, okay?� �No, I�ll just find a way. You�ll have the kids and I don�t want them out that early.� �Yeah. Talk to ya in a few.� Megan gave Theresa a hug and walked back to the table. �Listen AJ. I have to get going,� she whispered in his ear. �Can I come?� he asked. She just nodded her head. He looked at D and Brian and said he�d call them later. He followed Megan to her car and hopped in. �Hey, can I take your order?� Theresa asked the two guys. �Yeah, Brian here would like a beer and I would like a Sex on the Beach.� �Good one Howie,� Theresa told him. �I wasn�t playing. So, are you going to take me up on my offer?� �Oh, is that what that was?� �Yeah.� �I�m not sure. Let me go get them and then I�ll tell ya.� Theresa walked away and talked to Saul. She picked the drinks up and walked back to the table. �One beer for the lovely Brian. And one Sex on the Beach for, yes, Howie.� �Damn Theresa, that was smooth,� Brian said. She just smiled at him and nodded her thanks. �But it would have to be later, I�m working right now.� She said, checking the time. It was going on 3:00. �I�ll be right back. I have to go take their order.� And then she walked back over to Alex�s and Jessie�s table. �How can I help you?� �Yes, a beer and a White Russian.� �Really hitting those drinks?� she asked. �Yeah. What can I say, great drinks a beautiful waitress.� �Stop it Alex.� �What? It�s the truth. By the way, please sit and tell me about Savanna and Justin.� �No, I�m not going to do that so you can walk out of their lives. You know, I really don�t want them to know about you.� �They don�t?� |
