| "Of course. Come on, it's going on 2 and I'm hungry." AJ and Megan went to pay for their stuff and then decided on heading over to McDonald's for lunch. Theresa glanced at the clock, 2:15. She had to pick up the kids around 2:30. It was Monday, the 21st, and the first day of school for Justin and Savahana. Theresa climbed into the car and arrived at the school at 2:35. She walked into the school and went to the kid's room. To her surprise, the only person there was the teacher. "Excuse me. Miss Langley, but have you seen Justin or Savahana Lambe?" "Oh, Miss Lambe they left about 5 minutes ago. Their father picked them up." "Miss Langley, I'm sorry to inform you but they don't have a father." "Oh, I'm so sorry. This guy told me that he was and he looked so much like them." "Thank you. I know who picked them up. Bye." Theresa walked out of the room and ran down the hallway. She climbed into the car and sped back to the house. She raced in and picked up the phone. "Hello," she heard Megan say. "Megan, God, girl, the kids," Theresa said. "What do you mean?" AJ asked, getting concerned. "Alex got a hold of the kids and, and, I don't know where he is or anything." "Yeah, that's great. Just shows how great of a mother you are," Howie chimed in. "Oh, fuck you D." Theresa yelled. "Look, Theresa I'll be there as soon as I can. Just let me kill Howie first." "Please do," Theresa said. She heard screaming and yelling in the background and she just hung up. "God, where is he?" Theresa mumbled out loud. She glanced at her watch and it read 3:00. She then heard a car outside and flew open the door. "Where in the hell have you been?" Theresa yelled as she glared at Alex. "Picking up the kids, of course," Alex said, getting the kids out of the car. "Hey Justin. Hey Savahana. Look, I want you guys to go up to your rooms, okay?" Theresa asked the kids once they reached the door. They nodded their heads and went inside. "Good, we need to be alone," Alex said, walking up to her. "No, listen to me. You are in no way their father. To them, their father is gone. You have no right to see them, or anything else. So, the next time you wish to play daddy, go fuck some other whore. "Theresa..." "Don't even you jack ass. I'm tired of your shit, and you've been trying since you got here to be in my life. It's my fucking life. Those kids are six years old, where and the fuck have you been? Doing God knows what and I'm letting you know now that I don't want you fucking hanging around. Plus, the people at the school know who you are now, so really, don't try any shit. Theresa turned around and walked back into the house and slammed the door shut behind her. She sighed and watched the kids walk down the stairs. "We're sorry Mommy," Savahana said. "Oh sweetie, it's not your fault. You didn't know, but I"m sure he gave you something." "Yeah, $50 a piece," Justin said. Theresa just smiled and hugged the kids. "Okay, well go upstairs and get out of your school clothes." The kids walked back upstairs just as the front door opened. Theresa looked up and there was Megan, AJ and Howie. "Did you get the kids?" Megan asked, walking up and giving Theresa a hug. "Yeah, they're upstairs getting changed. Who wants to stay for dinner?" "Did Alex bring them?" Howie asked. "Yeah he did. What in the world happened to you Howie?" "Some crazy bitch tried hurting me." "Hey! That crazy bitch is my girlfriend," AJ said, sitting down at the table. "Whatever, she's still a crazy bitch. Anyway, I would love to stay, but my mom wanted me to come over. I'll take a rain check. Later all." He waved and walked out the door. "Okay, so, are you two staying?" Theresa asked. "Yeah, we planned on it anyway," AJ said. Theresa nodded her head and started making dinner. Megan opened her eyes to the sunlight streaming into her room. She heard her door open and quickly close. "Good morning Aunt Megan," Justin said, sitting on the edge of her bed. "Good morning. What time is it sweetie?" It's 10:15. Time for you to get up." "Hey, shouldn't you be at school?" "Mommy said I could stay home, well, Savahana and I, because it's easier for Leslie to watch us." "That's right. So, is Mommy getting ready?" "No, she's still asleep." "Well, go and wake her up. It's a long drive to Sarasota and the awards start at 7:00." "Fine, fine. I'm going," Justin said as he climbed off the bed and walked into Theresa's room. He climbed on her bed and watched her sleep. "Yes, my darling son?" Theresa asked. "I thought you were asleep." "I heard you come in. So, what did you need?" "Aunt Megan said that it's time for you to get up, and start getting ready." "Thanks, so you want to help me make my bed?" She asked him as she got up. "Can I help, too?" Savahana asked, standing in the doorway. "Of course, love." Together the three of them made the bed. "It looks good. Do you two want to see what I'm going to wear?" "Yeah," Megan said, stepping into the room. "I know you do, but you are going to have to wait until I'm out of the shower and ready to go." "You suck, you know that. Then again, I'm going to make you wait to see my outfit, too." Theresa smiled and tossed a pillow at Megan. "Whatever. Leslie will be here around 2:00. Just to let you know, Mark is picking me up by then. "That's fine. I'm going to go jump in the shower." Megan stepped into the bathroom, looking through her make up bad. She grabbed her eye shadow, and applied some blue, making her eyes stand out. She then applied some white on top. Mascara and blush came next. She smiled to herself and pulled her hair up. Fifteen minutes later she had her hair finished and applied her lipstick. She took a look in the mirror and nodded her head. She grabbed her jacket and started down the stairs as she put it on. "Hey baby," AJ said, looking her over. "Hey, you look good," she said, giving him a light kiss. "What are we waiting for, anyway?" AJ complained. "Sisqo. Besides, I want to see what Theresa is wearing. All that she told me was that it was purple." |
