Faded Rattlesnake
Crotalus oreganus concolor
This subspecies is
quite small, and reaches a maximum size of 16" to 26". Blotches are
usually faded in adults. Coloration ranges from off white to shades of light tan
or light gray. There are usually somewhat muted facial markings including dark
bars with light colored edges that extend back from the eye to the corner of the
mouth. Young are blotched and have prominent head and facial markings. Midget
Faded Rattlesnakes are found in a small portion of northern Arizona near the
center of the Arizona/Utah border.
