What's Hollywood's Problem?

I'm sure that by now we have all heard about the live action Dragonball Z movie that Fox is working on.  No matter what your oppion, fan of DBZ, hate DBZ, or just know that it's out there but don't care about it, you have to admit that where the movie is leading isn't go for us Otaku.  If, and I mean IF the DBZ movie is a hugh hit, Hollywood plans to do live action remakes of Akira and Ninja Scroll.  Who knows what.s next after that, Princess Mononoke perhaps.

I can't speak for the entire Otaku generation, but I can speak for myself, and I don't think that there is any need to remake a classic film such as Akira.  Even if it turns out to be good, it's ment to be anime, not LA (Live Action for those that don't know my lingo)  Some Hollywood remakes have been better than the originals, The Mummy and Titanic for example, but those wheren't really classics, were they?  They made so many Mummy movies the name got played out, and Titanic too.  What would happen if they remade Casablanca into an anime, would you watch it?  Would Hollywood be upset?  You bet they would, and rightfully so.

I'm not against all anime going LA, but the classics, you just don't mess with. But we must all have our oppions, and this is a place for otaku to voice them.  Thanks for your time.
