Emotions

My stupid emotions, they stand in my way,
And never my fears, they off the road sway.
Left with no dream, no trust in my heart,
Going and moving with the traffic, with dust.
That dust on the road is lifted above
And covers all feelings: pain, fear and love.
There is nowhere to go; there is nowhere to hide -
An old empty expression, but how can you turn aside?
If there is a wall on your right, on your left, up, down, beside,
If there is tight tension, and eye watching as you abide.
A heart has no fear; a soul has no mind;
But mind senses danger, and fear appears at sight.
There is no sense in hiding, when fear is everywhere and
It outreaches and grabs you with its death-breathing hand.
