Bobby Shavonie -
But, alas, that match does not occur til later on
tonight. Right now we pick up where we left off just
minutes ago, with the second of the OWF Tag Team title
matches. Nick Burst - As
talented as Doc Holloway and Adam Wilson are, I fully
expect this match to be even better than the first. It's
obvious this is about more than just the tag team titles
for Talon and Jackrabbit, and this has been building for
a long time. Taking a
microphone into the palm of her right hand Missy draws a
nice applause. Bobby Shavonie -
It's time to settle the score! Take it away Missy! Missy Janson - If
I could have your attention... as it is time for the next
match on our card... A mostly silent
crowd allows Missy to keep on speaking uninterrupted. Missy Janson - It
is scheduled for a one-fall, with no time limit, and it
is for ONE-HALF OF THE OWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS! A bit louder than
they were for the first half of the defense, the fans get
excited knowing they'll see a showdown many have been
waiting for. Missy Janson -
Coming to the ring first... the Challenger... from Parts
Unknown... TALON! The lights in the
arena cut out. "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack hits
and after a few lyrics two spotlights focus on the ramp.
A figure stands there in a trenchcoat, head bowed, hair
covering his face. As the music plays one spotlight then
the next flickers off. A few moments
later both spotlights focus on the ring. Standing on the
second rope at one of the turnbuckles, facing the ring,
is Talon. His arms are stretched out to either side with
a piece of lead-piping held in each. Bobby Shavonie -
The issues between The Jackrabbit and Talon, former tag
team partners, go deep. They go back to OWF Blood Bath in
August when Talon made his arrival and sent The
Jackrabbit off the platform, keeping him on the shelf for
a month. Nick Burst -
That's the same night The Jackrabbit and Doc Holloway won
the Pool of Blood match to earn a shot at the OWF Tag
Team titles; which they won at OWF Rise or Fall in
September. Then last month they successfully defended
them against the team of Talon and Adam Wilson at Shock
and Terror. Bobby Shavonie -
Now at Brawltopia... this defense is like no other, but
for Talon and Jackrabbit this has been about more than
the belts. Nick Burst - Yeah
they wanted to go at one another in a one-on-one capacity
months ago but CJ forced Talon to get a partner, and then
he booked these matches to stop all the havoc they were
creating. These guys just flat out don't like one
another. Bobby Shavonie -
And remember, Talon was the one who showed aggression to
Jackrabbit first; so there is a lot resting on his
shoulders tonight, because he started all of this. Nick Burst - And
he's realized that The Jackrabbit isn't going to just
dick around and look for hugs tonight. These two are
rabid animals being let out of their cages in a wrestling
ring. After glancing
around the arena he hops off the rope. Discarding the
lead pipes to the mat in his corner, under the ropes, and
removing his trenchcoat Talon prepares for his match as
his music fades out. Back on the outside of the ring
Missy Janson, the OWF Ring Announcer, is still on her
feet and speaks into her microphone once again. Missy Janson - And
lastly... he is one-half of the Current OWF Tag Team
Champions... THE JACKRABBIT! The arena lights
dim, and hysterical laughter sounds through the arena. A
series of rabbits appear on the big screen, their eyes a
crimson red. "Out Of My Head" by Puddle Of Mudd
begins to play, as smoke fills the entrance-ramp and blue
strobe lights scan the arena. Onto the ramp steps The
Jackrabbit. He is wearing one of his trademark T-Shirts,
and his plaid, wrestling shorts; wearing the OWF Tag Team
Championship, upside down, around his waist. Nick Burst - I've
been impressed with The Jackrabbit. At first I thought he
was just being a bitch when it came to Talon, but he has
stepped up to meet this challenge. Now if he's going to
win, that's another story. Bobby Shavonie -
You have to expect he will be at his best tonight, with
the Brawltopia match as an afterthought right? He wants
to keep the Tag Championship intact, right? Nick Burst - That
I do expect, but Talon is pretty fucking good too. I
don't want to say Jackrabbit has bitten off more than he
can chew, but it's possible. I also know that it took a
long time for Doc to warm up to The Jackrabbit, and
losing tonight won't help that relationship any. Bobby Shavonie -
It's also possible that this is the moment Jackrabbit
stands up for himself and gets Talon to back off his
case. Nick Burst -
You're absolutely right, and that's why we have these
matches; because we could discuss this to death, but it's
up to those two. And I'm fucking excited. Bobby Shavonie -
So are the fans here in North Dakota. Our second match of
the night and it feels like a Main Event atmosphere! The Jackrabbit
begins to walk down the ramp as the music picks up, and
he then runs and slides into the ring as blue strobe
lights scan the arena. He climbs the nearest turnbuckle,
and laughs outloud to himself, raising both arms and
wriggling the index fingers on each as the fans cheer
him. The Jackrabbit then jumps back down, and paces the
ring, looking entirely as though he has no idea where he
is as he heads to his corner; his music quickly fading
out. OWF Referee Dean
Stern approaches and takes the Tag Team Title from
Jackrabbit's waist, heading to the middle of the ring to
hold the belt above his head. He receives a huge ovation
and quickly moves to the side of the ring nearest to the
time keepers table; handing the title over the top rope
to Missy Janson. He turns around
and checks on both men, who are staring across the ring
at one another with the desire to go at it. That's all he
needs and he calls for the bell. VS (Ding, Ding,
Ding...) Talon remains in
his corner but The Jackrabbit walks right up into the
middle of the ring, motioning for Talon to join him. He
is hesitant but joins his former tag team partner, where
he is crushed with a right hand to the face. This takes
everyone off guard; Talon, the referee, the fans. But
Jackrabbit stands strong, his face emotionless, holding
his ground. Nick Burst - Well
Jackrabbit finally legally got his hands on Tal--OH shit! Talon retaliates
by ducking down, lifting The Jackrabbit up and rushing
him back-first into the nearest corner with devastating
force. It doesn't end there as Talon repeated sends his
right shoulder into the abdomen of his opponent, doing it
exactly three straight times before Dean Stern moves in
to give him a warning. A fourth and fifth shoulder thrust
hit Jackrabbit straight on and there is nothing he can do
about it, forcing the referee to start his manditory five
count. 1, 2, 3, 4; Talon breaks away, standing
himself up straight, showing he is listening to the
referee. In that split second of no contact The
Jackrabbit sees an opening and takes advantage of it,
grabbing his opponent around the back of his head and
switching positions with him so that Talon is now
back-first in the corner. Jackrabbit steps back and
delivers a lifting knee to Talon's sternum, followed by a
second to the same exact spot; and guess what, a third to
the same location that gets the crowd back on his side.
Getting lost in the moment Jackrabbit doesn't hear the
referee give him the same warning he afforded Talon, and
he begins to get counted on. 1, 2, 3, 4; he
snaps back to reality and holds up his arms in a sign of
good faith to the OWF Official. Seizing on this brief
lull in the action Talon steps forward and headbutts The
Jackrabbit right on the bridge of his nose, then delivers
a front kick to his opponent's right knee cap. The sudden
shot to the leg sends Jackrabbit hobbling backwards and
in a blur Talon rushes past him, turning to hit the ropes
behind The Jackrabbit back-first. Springing off of them
he goes low looking for a chop block; but Jackrabbit
leaps high into the air so that Talon flops down upon his
stomach after missing his mark. Landing back on both feet
causes a bit of pain to his right leg but it doesn't
prevent one-half of the Tag Team Champions from reaching
down and wrapping both of his arms around his opponent's
waist; using that hold to bring Talon back to his feet.
From there he doesn't look for an offensing power move
like most would, but instead he runs forward to slam
Talon chest-first into one of the corners. Taking two
giant steps back The Jackrabbit plants the toes of his
boots into the fabric of the canvas and darts forward
before taking flight and connecting with a turnbuckle
splash. The impact that sends Talon against the
turnbuckles forces him into a backwards stagger in the
direction of the middle of the ring and trying to use
this to his advantage The Jackrabbit turns and hits the
ropes with his back; directing himself towards his
opponent. As he approaches Talon snaps back to reality
and plants his feet in order to hoist The Jackrabbit up
into a gorilla press position above his head. It seems
like he has him held tightly but The Jackrabbit slips out
of the sticky situation and lands on his feet in front of
Talon. Thinking about his options Jackrabbit instantly
grabs his opponent's left hand and looks to irish whip
him, but it's easily reversed by Talon who sends The
Jackrabbit slamming into the nearest corner. He follows
it by running in behind The Jackrabbit and leaping into
the air to crash into him with a turnbuckle splash of his
own. Just like Talon did earlier The Jackrabbit stumbles
out of the corner, this time into the waiting hands of
Talon who lifts him back up for the gorilla press hold;
and then stepping forward to allow Jackrabbit to fall
face and chest first down into the mat of the squared
circle following the gorilla press drop. The first real
advantage of the match goes to Talon and he doesn't let
it spoil as he moves in, grabbing at The Jackrabbit's
right leg and wrenching it violently in a way it
shouldn't be bent. When his opponent starts to show some
fight Talon puts the sole of his right boot on the back
Jackrabbit's right thigh, doing even more damage as OWF
Referee Dean Stern can only move in to ask The Jackrabbit
if he wants to give up. It's clear that is not even an
option as he digs his fingers into the mat and claws his
way towards the ropes, eventually latching onto the
bottom ring cable to break the hold. Only problem is that
Talon isn't giving up on it even under the prodding of
the referee. There is a distinct look of pain on The
Jackrabbit's face as he now has both hands on the bottom
rope, just as Stern begins another five count with Talon
risking disqualification. 1, 2, 3, 4; Talon
gives up the submission and takes a step backwards to
show his intent, but just as the referee moves in to
scold him he brushes past Stern to grab The Jackrabbit by
the right leg trying to pull him away from the ropes. Nick Burst - These
guys are risking disqualification just to do more damage
to one another, not to mention trying to one-up one
another as we go. Bobby Shavonie -
And they are dangerously close. I've counted three
4-counts from the referee already, and while it shows
just how badly these two have been waiting for this match
you have to wonder what lengths they will go to when it
comes time to win. Flipping over onto
his back Jackrabbit punts Talon upon his face with his
left foot, which releases his right foot from his
opponent's grasp. Holding his head Talon moves back a few
steps but he is ready to go at The Jackrabbit before he
can even get up to his feet, but when he approaches he is
taken down with a drop toe hold. Talon's throat comes
across the bottom rope and it chokes him up, which
Jackrabbit notices. Jumping to action he grabs the bottom
rope and plants his left kneem trying to keep the right
from further damage, upon Talon's back, trying to choke
the life out of him in the next five seconds he has
before being disqualified. Dean Stern doesn't bother with
the warning, he just starts to count. 1, 2, 3, 4;
Jackrabbit lets go but is sure to pull Talon up to his
feet as he stands back up, grabbing him in a full-nelson
hold and moving him to the center of the ring. In the
time it takes to get to the middle of the squared circle
Talon has already broken both of his arms free and sends
a back elbow with his right arm into the side of The
Jackrabbit's head, rocking it backwards. The two men both
seem to feel everything they've put each other through at
the same exact moment and they spin around to square
their shoulders to one another. The crowd is about to
give them a rousing applause but Jackrabbit interrupts it
with a open left handed slap to Talon's face, followed by
a smack to the opposite cheek of Talon with his right
hand. Wiggling his fingers around in the air The
Jackrabbit draws the cheers of the fans but all of it
stops when Talon unleashes a wicked open handed palm
strike to The Jackrabbit. He wobbles on his feet, mostly
due to his right leg being in some pain, leaving him in
range for a left handed slap as Talon imitates
Jackrabbit's combination of strikes he calls Slap Happy;
which Talon had just prevented his opponent from
completing. The only thing different is that Talon
doesn't waste time wiggling his fingers, but he does take
a step back and nail Jackrabbit with a big boot directly
to his face. The shot is so powerful that The Jackrabbit
drops to a single knee bent over, allowing Talon to leap
into the air looking for an axe-kick. At the last
possible second The Jackrabbit pulls his head out of the
way of the axe-kick that would have completed the move
Talon calls the End of Reason, and stands upright very
dazed from the boot he received to the face. Getting his
legs back under him after the miss Talon turns around
right into a boot to the stomach from The Jackrabbit's
left foot. Unable to shake away the cobwebs Jackrabbit
still knows where he is in the ring and steps in to
butterfly his opponent's arms behind his back and flips
Talon over with a double-underhook suplex that brings
both men down to the mat. The crowd is quiet
until they see The Jackrabbit pop up to his feet with a
determined look on his face, limping away to the nearest
corner; and they all jump up to their feet. They watch
him climb to the top rope from inside of the ring all
while Talon does his best to sit up, but he cannot get
out of the way as The Jackrabbit backflips from the top;
landing flush across the abdomen of Talon with the
moonsault he has dubbed the Laughing Matter. It's a move
he should go for a pinfall for and he wants to, but his
right leg hitting the mat as it did causes him extreme
pain for a few crucial seconds that prevents him from
just crawling forward to lay upon Talon's chest.
Eventually he dives forward and reaches at Talon's legs
trying to hook one but comes up short; but the referee
still counts the loose pin. 1... 2... Talon
pushes The Jackrabbit off of him and sits right up,
already looking for a way to stand back up to his feet. Bobby Shavonie -
Would you believe that's the first pinfall attempt in
this whole contest? Nick Burst - Of
course I would. Both of these guys wants a victory over
the other, but they're not going to settle for small
stakes. They want to send a message to one another.
That's why The Jackrabbit went for the pin after the
moonsault, instead of the double-underhook suplex,
because that would have made a huge statement had he
gotten the three on a move from the fucking top rope. Realizing just how
quick Talon is to collect himself after those series of
high impact moves, The Jackrabbit struggles to get up to
his feet ahead of his opponent. Although he accomplished
that feat by a second or two, it is Talon who gets the
upper hand by running in and snatching up the right leg
of The Jackrabbit; pulling to fully extend it while
forcing his opponent to balance all of his weight onto
his left leg. Stepping forward Talon drives a downward
elbow to the right knee of The Jackrabbit, bending it the
way god didn't intend for it to bend. The pain is evident
on Jackrabbit's face yet he somehow manages to remain
balanced on his left foot only, with a bit of help from
Talon who tries to keep his opponent standing. Executing
the same exact elbow attack he just performed Talon steps
in and drives his left elbow down onto the right kneecap
of his opponent, but at the same time The Jackrabbit
kicks his left leg into the air. His left foot connects
with the back of Talon's head, and as a result of the
enziguri Talon falls lifelessly down to the mat. Right
now both men are face-down on the mat just feet away from
one another, in various states of disarray. The referee
for this contest, Dean Stern, stands tall over both men
and with nothing left to do he begins to count them both
down on the mat. 1... 2... 3...
4... The fans boo him
mercilessly, but they quickly change their tune when they
see The Jackrabbit pushing himself up towards the ropes.
He uses them to balance himself, while Talon uses the
strength in his body to get up to his hands and knees. At
this point both men are unaware of the others location. 5... 6... Getting to his
feet first Talon stares across the ring to see The
Jackrabbit standing upright after using the ropes to
anchor himself. The crowd, most of which are on their
feet at the moment, cheer but are hushed up when Talon
charges forward towards The Jackrabbit. A gut reaction
from The Jackrabbit results in him pulling down the top
rope and Talon is sent flipping out of the ring, but
somehow he lands on his feet on the concrete floor at
ringside. The shockwave of impact keeps him in the same
position he handed in while his body copes with it,
allowing The Jackrabbit to pick himself back up and
secure a hold on the top rope with both hands. He
slingshots himself over the top rope but as he does so he
notices Talon dive back into the ring under the bottom
rope, so now it is The Jackrabbit to has to stick the
landing on the concrete floor. He manages to do so but
the impact on his right leg brings back the pain he had
felt earlier in the match. As a result he has to extend
his arms so that he can rest his hands on the edge of the
apron to remain standing, and that opens him up to
Talon's next plan of attack as he dives forward with both
of his boots directed to The Jackrabbit's face. Avoiding
the baseball slide Jackrabbit slides back into the ring
so now Talon is back standing on the outside; continuing
this do-si-do the two have engaged in that the fans are
absolutely eating up. Now allowing his opponent a free
pass back into the ring The Jackrabbit backs up on his
heels and the moment Talon enters he takes off to the
ropes on the opposite side of the ring, turning so his
back hits them. Propelling himself forward Jackrabbit
sees Talon charging past him which takes him totally off
guard and causes him to apply the brakes, halting his
progress to only the middle of the. He turns around just
in time to be hit with a running knee to the chest that
doubles the Champion over with his arms crossed over his
midsection as he tries to collect his breath. Seizing the
opportunity provided to him Talon moves to the left of
The Jackrabbit and wraps his right leg around his left
knee and engages his upper body around the shoulder area
only to violently swing himself backwards to complete a
russian leg sweep. A move that is usually not that strong
is delivered with such force that the back of
Jackrabbit's head snaps against the canvas and leaves him
laying upon his back while his opponent has all the time
in the world to stand back up. For a brief second the OWF
Official moves in to check on The Jackrabbit but he is
pushed out of the way by the Challenger who reaches down
to grab his opponent by the right arm, determining for
himself that Jackrabbit wants to continue. Bobby Shavonie -
Dean Stern is giving these guys a bit too much leeway for
my liking. Nick Burst -
Bullshit, he has been fair and right down the middle.
He's adminstered pinfalls, manditory five-counts and
counted these men out all during that span. You want to
see a referee who bends the rules? Be sure to check out
Calvin Mills and watch that first match over again. Bringing The
Jackrabbit back up to his feet Talon encounters some
resistance in the form of a left jab to his face, but
using his hold on the Champion's right arm Talon irish
whips The Jackrabbit into the nearest corner. Slamming
back-first into the turnbuckles with a great deal of
force The Jackrabbit remains on his feet, and actually
does one better as he runs from the corner and clobbers
his opponent with a running clothesline to the face. With
no intentions of staying down for long Talon returns to
an upright position just as Jackrabbit turns around,
prompting him to charge forward to deliver a second
running clothesline. Dropping to the mat and lifting
himself right back up from it just as fast as he fell,
Talon squares his body to Jackrabbit once again only to
see him darting forward. The third clothesline attempt is
countered with a wicked standing powerslam from Talon,
who crushes the Champion to his back but keeps a hold of
him. At first it looks like he is going for a pinfall but
in actuality Talon rises up to his knees, pulling The
Jackrabbit off the canvas and into a fallaway slam
position as he powers back to his feet. Dropping back to
a knee Talon executes a backbreaker on his opponent only
to straighten his back and toss The Jackrabbit over his
head, performing the fallaway slam he was hinting at just
by using this position. As a result of the big move The
Jackrabbit rolls onto his stomach to give his back a bit
of relief while Talon sits himself up on his rear maybe a
foot away from his opponent, taking his time in moving up
from the canvas. Using his arms and legs in unison
Jackrabbit starts to push himself up as he turns his
head, watching every movement Talon makes on his way back
to his feet. Approaching his opponent Talon lays a stiff
kick to the ribs of Jackrabbit trying to make it as
difficult as possible for him to stand up. It does the
trick as just when the OWF Tag Team Champion shakes the
cobwebs loose and goes for a second attempt, another
similar kick to the stomach forces him to hesitate;
unable to defend himself while on all fours. Amplifying
the control he has Talon sits upon the back of his
opponent and reaches forward, interlocking his fingers
infront of Jackrabbit's face as he yanks backwards on the
rear chin lock submission. The referee doesn't bothing
coming in to check on The Jackrabbit as it soon becomes
obvious that this move is solely being uses as a manner
in which Talon can easily bring his opponent to his feet,
while still keeping a tight grip on his movements once
there. It doesn't look so good for Talon's control as
Jackrabbit throws his right elbow backwards into his
stomach two consecutive times which do enough damage that
Talon's grip briefly breaks. Doing his best to get away
from further attacks The Jackrabbit takes one huge step
forward but is stopped dead in his tracks as Talon
reaches up and grabs a handful of his hair. Pulling the
Champion backwards Talon secures both of his arms around
Jackrabbit's waist and dumps him over his head;
delivering a beautiful back drop suplex that folds The
Jackrabbit up like an accordion. The crowd is
rather silent, even if entertained, as Talon has taken
full control at this point in the contest. Flopping over
to lay on The Jackrabbit's chest Talon reaches for, and
grabs, JR's right leg and hooks it tight as he goes for a
pin. The referee drops down into his proper position and
makes the count. 1... 2... The Jackrabbit kicks
out, thrusting his right shoulder off the mat, which
doesn't surprise Talon much and he uses it to his
advantage. He takes hold of that same right arm of
Jackrabbit and rolls him over onto his stomach, locking
it in a seated armbar variation. With his face pressed
into the fabric of the canvas The Jackrabbit has to tell
the OWF Official Dean Stern that he doesn't want to quit,
even though the pain is excruciating. Every movement The
Jackrabbit makes only amplifies the pain felt in his
right arm, and it looks like hope is all lost until the
fans start to get behind him. They chant "LETS GO
'RABBIT!" over and over again, getting just as loud
as they were when this contest started and most of them
are already on their feet trying to project their voices
into the ring. Shockingly enough it seems to work as The
Jackrabbit fights through the pain in order to get
himself up off the mat, digging his knee caps into the
canvas which forces Talon to lose some of the leverage he
had in his submission. He struggles to keep it applied as
both men move to their feet and when that fails Talon
goes to 'Plan B' which is to rush at The Jackrabbit, lift
him up over his shoulder, and seat him on the top rope.
Upon release Talon is instantly booted in the face which
shocks him so greatly he falls down to his back, rolling
back to his feet in the center of the ring. By that time
he looks up to see The Jackrabbit standing on the top
turnbuckle and can't get his body to follow his brain's
orders as he sees Jackrabbit come flying from the top
rope. He lays out and executes a missle dropkick that
shoots Talon backwards like he was fired from a cannon,
and both men lay on the mat; with the fans in an absolute
frenzy. Bobby Shavonie -
This is The Jackrabbit's chance! He has Talon down! Nick Burst - Yeah
but Jackrabbit took a nasty fall as a result of that
offensive move. These fans energized him to do it, but
they can't force his body to do something it can't
physically do right now! Bobby Shavonie -
He went for a high risk, high reward maneuver and it paid
off. Nick Burst - That
is yet to be seen. For now, it certainly dealt Talon a
great deal of damage and could possibly get The
Jackrabbit back into this match. Many moments pass
but The Jackrabbit is first to get up from the canvas,
moving up to a kneeling position. On the other side of
the ring his opponent, Talon, is just now catching his
breath. The two men take two different paths in returning
to their feet, but seem to be making very close progress
to one another. The Jackrabbit uses both hands to push
his upper body under his legs, which hold up his weight
for the time being. Meanwhile Talon uses the ropes and
stands up maybe a second after Jackrabbit does, but both
men have no clue of their opponent's progress. The two
spin around and catch a glimpse of one another and they
move close and start swinging. The Jackrabbit throws a
wide right hook that Talon ducks under, and after pulling
himself together the Challenger kicks his right leg
towards his opponent. Swatting it away with both hands
The Jackrabbit avoids the toe kick and winds up, throwing
his right elbow straight at Talon's face. Using both of
his forearms Talon blocks the strike from the Champion's
right arm and steps around behind Jackrabbit, grabbing
him in a reverse waist lock; a hold that The Jackrabbit
is easily able to escape from. He does so and ends up
behind Talon but locks him in an abdominal stretch and
with whatever strength he has left swings his opponent up
onto his shoulder in a front powerslam position. This is
the setup for the move he calls The Standing Joke and
just as he gets ready to drop Talon on his head he loses
hold of his opponent. Talon slides down to his feet
behind The Jackrabbit, pulling him back into a standing
dragon sleeper; then kicks out his feet to punish him
with a strong reverse DDT that lays him out in the middle
of the ring. He is tired and pretty beaten up but Talon
rolls over to the nearest set of ropes and before he even
gets to his feet he makes his exit through them so he
ends up on the edge of the ring apron. Bobby Shavonie -
Where is Talon going? Nick Burst - You
know where he's going. He's going up top for the swandive
headbutt he finishes all of his matches with. Why he does
that, I don't know. Moving as fast as
he can he begins ascending the turnbuckles of the corner
from outside, making sure to stay steady as he perches
himself on the top rope. He locks his eyes back on the
ring and is shocked to see The Jackrabbit already on his
feet, running right at him, and pushing Talon backwards
so he crotches himself on the top turnbuckle bolt. Nick Burst - And
Jackrabbit knew he'd do it too! He was waiting for it! Right off the bat
the fans applaud and cheer on The Jackrabbit as he starts
to climb the ropes in the same corner, right in front of
Talon. He stops at the second rope to pick Talon up,
hoisting him to his feet on the top turnbuckle bolt;
where The Jackrabbit sticks his head between his
opponent's thighs. Bobby Shavonie -
No... The fans go
silent. They know what The Jackrabbit is preparing for
and they audibly gasp as they realize he intends to hit
The Last Laugh off the ropes; which would ultimately
spike Talon's head into the canvas from four feet in the
air. Nick Burst - This
is what these two wanted... Bobby Shavonie -
It's not what I want! I can't watch! As he goes to lift
Talon he is stopped, and then he realizes how vulnerable
he is with a short right knee strike to the crown of
Jackrabbit's head. It compresses his neck and he falls
lifelessly down to the mat, with Talon barely keeping
himself balanced on the top rope. Without thinking twice
he extends both arms away from his body and falls
forward, driving his forehead into the skull of The
Jackrabbit; completing the swandive headbutt off the top.
Nick Burst - Death
From Above! Bobby Shavonie -
Whaaaat? How the- Nick Burst - You
should have been watching... Now the cover! Talon hooks both
of The Jackrabbit's legs and puts his full body weight on
his chest, as the referee slides in and makes the count.
1... 2... 3! Missy Janson - The
winner of this match... and... NEEEEEEW OWF TAAAAAG TEAM
CHAMPIIIIIIIION... TAAAAALON! Nick Burst - Well,
fuck. Bobby Shavonie -
Incredible match! Rising to his
knees Talon stares down at The Jackrabbit who is already
rolling to get back up to his feet. Dean Stern moves out
of the picture and receives the OWF Tag Team Title from
Missy Janson, then turns himself around to award it to
the winner of this match. Nick Burst - The
Jackrabbit fucking killed it. He did everything he could.
But Talon was the better man tonight, and may have proved
he was the better member of Fusion. Bobby Shavonie -
My thoughts are, how in the hell are Doc Holloway and
Talon going to co-exist as Tag Team Champions? And how
will Jackrabbit react to that? Nick Burst -
That's a story for another night, I believe. When Dean hands
the Tag Title to Talon, The Jackrabbit gets up to a
crouching position and tackles Talon to the mat; causing
the referee to hand the belt right back out of the ring.
The fans cheer this attack after the match as Stern moves
in trying to separate the two men. Nick Burst -
Definitely a story for another night, because these two
aren't done with each other! In the ruckus the
referee is shoved to the side and The Jackrabbit manages
to pull Talon up to his feet, laying a headbutt to his
face that sends him back-first against the ropes. There
is no rebound off of them, as the newly crowned OWF Tag
Team Champion rests himself on the ring cables, which
gives Jackrabbit an open target as he puts his full body
into a running clothesline. The result of that
simple move is The Jackrabbit landing on his feet on the
concrete floor at ringside, unharmed; but Talon isn't so
lucky. In flipping over the ropes his neck somehow became
wrapped up between the top and middle ring cable, and his
face is turning a bright shade of red incredibly fast. Bobby Shavonie -
Oh my god! He can't breathe! Nick Burst - He's
basically being hanged! Bobby Shavonie -
This is so sickening. I can't watch! Looking up at
Talon's face The Jackrabbit pauses and watches the
referee try to release Talon from this death sentence, to
no avail. The crowd grows restless and Jackrabbit hangs
his chin to his chest, exhaling deeply. Bobby Shavonie -
Somebody has to do something! A second later he
reaches up and lifts Talon upwards, breaking him free
from the ropes and lays him gently down on the concrete
floor. Nick Burst -
Jackrabbit released Talon, thank fucking god. Bobby Shavonie -
Maybe, just maybe, Jackrabbit remembers his friendship
with Talon and couldn't let it end like this even if he
lost this match. Nick Burst - In a
fairy tale that would be the story. In real life, maybe
he just didn't want to be accused of murder. He immediately
turns around and walks away from ringside, when Doc
Holloway with the OWF Tag Title around his waist walks
down the ramp. The two men, Jackrabbit and Holloway, come
to a meeting point about a quarter of the way up from
ringside and they exchange no words. The Jackrabbit
brushes past Doc Holloway and heads up the ramp in a rush
it seems, leaving the crowd unsure of how to react. Nick Burst -
Whatever that was all about, there we have them. The OWF
Tag Team Champions... Doc Holloway and Talon. Bobby Shavonie -
That just sounds so weird to hear. Dean Stern hangs
around at ringside for a moment as he isn't sure how Doc
and Talon will deal with one another. Nick Burst - Hey
if they can work together, they've got the tag titles on
lockdown. The Jackrabbit on the other hand, I have no
fucking idea what he thinks about this or where is mind
is at going into the Brawltopia Match. Bobby Shavonie -
Doc came out here to talk to The Jackrabbit, and he was
blown off. There are so many things you could possibly
say right now regarding this situation, but I suppose
time will tell.
