Lights drop as Oasis by Puya starts to play. A spotlight comes on and follows as Sirus Esteban Del-Norte slides out from backstage wearing his shorts, boots, and a white boxing robe with the word Quintessential written in blood red on the back, his hands up in the air as if in exultation. The lighting shifts to flashes of blue and white, as hundreds of smaller lights move in all different directions with the music. He has a smug look on his face as he waves condescendingly at the booing and jeering crowd. Walking down the walkway to the ring, he points at one wrestling fan in particular, mouthing something in Spanish before spitting on the ground and biting his thumb in the guys direction. Once to the ring, he grabs the top rope, pulling it down before using it to launch himself over the rope and into the ring. He pulls off his robe, flexing for the crowd before throwing it in the refs face, taking the time to flip the ref off while hes temporarily blinded by the robe. He then moves to a corner, rubbing his hands together in preparation for a fight. Zach King: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Vallejo, CA and weighing 240 pounds Sirus Esteban Del-Norte! Will Prydor: Sirus is on a tear after a huge victory over Marcus KaDerrion at Rebirth 3. Jake Steel: His opponent at Rebirth 4 got fired before the match! But SED-Ns got a whole different ball-game here against one of the front runners in the World Championship Round Robin. The arena lights dim and the sound of metal chains scraping a concrete floor can be heard across the sound system. They are broken up by a shrill laughter around the arena. As smoke fills the entrance-ramp area, Out Of My Head by Puddle of Mudd kicks in and the Jackrabbit appears at the top of the ramp. What is wrong with all my friends I know that I am unlike them Just another situation Dont hold me back I dont look up to them Steel chains drape across his shoulders and behind him on the ground as Jackrabbit slowly makes his way to the ring. Climbing under the bottom rope, he suddenly sprints to the turnbuckle and climbs it, staring out over the audience with a stony look on his face and his chains clutched to his chest. No ones ever listening The lines are crossed somewhere between My head is spinning like a top I dont not know when this shit is going to stop Zach King: And his opponent, weighing in at 235 pounds The Jackrabbit! Will Prydor: Jackrabbit remains undefeated so far in NLW- with big wins against Draco and Nick Perry in the World Championship Round Robin series. Jake Steel: Yeah, and then he took out Nikita- and true to his word, we havent seen her since! Will Prydor: For many, this is an anticipated bout as Jackrabbit and Del Norte have never faced off! We have a first time ever here, Jake! Jake Steel: The question is will we see ABUSE?!~ Jackrabbit breaks into a manic smile before stamping back to the middle of the ring. The referee tries to coerce the chains from him, but he pulls back on them, giving the referee a wild-eyed look before suddenly swinging the end of the chain across the face of Sirus. SED-N hits the mat with a thud! Will Prydor: What the hell was that!? Jake Steel: ABUSE!~ Will Prydor: This is not a No Disqualification match! Jackrabbit struck Sirus with those chains! Jake Steel: The bell hasnt rung yet, Will! This match isnt yet underway! The Jackrabbit leaps onto his fallen opponent, bringing lefts and rights down on top of his face as the referee tries to get between the two men to start this thing officially. He pulls Jackrabbit back off Sirus and as SED-N returns to his feet, the bell finally rings and the match is underway. Sirus looks wobbly on his feet, but he charges at the Jackrabbit in a fit of fury. The Unorthodox One rolls out to ringside. Sirus tries to follow but the referee pulls him back to the centre of the ring. Sirus is irate as the Jackrabbit returns to the ring, and finally released, Sirus aims a big clothesline at his opponent. Jackrabbit rolls out to ringside, out of dodge. Sirus stamps angrily on the mat as Jackrabbit paces casually around the ringside area. Will Prydor: Mind games from the Jackrabbit, getting into the head of SED-N in the early part of this match. Jake Steel: He tried to get into his head with that chain to start this thing off! Sure enough, a small cut has opened up on Siruss head and the sight of his own blood just enrages him more. Jackrabbit makes his way back into the ring, and Sirus waits for him to meet him in the center. Sirus aims a back elbow at Jackrabbits head, but again Jackrabbit hits the mat and rolls out to ringside. This time Sirus expected it and with a baseball slide under the bottom rope he takes Jackrabbit down. Sirus follows through out to ringside, and quickly mounts Jackrabbit, raining a series of his own fists down on the smaller man. Jackrabbit eats a number of blows before bucking Sirus off, and using the ring apron to drag himself to his feet. Sirus takes aim and runs Jackrabbit over with a big boot out on the concrete. The referee calls Five! on the count out, and Sirus grabs Jackrabbit by the long blonde hair and forces him under the bottom rope into the ring. Sirus follows, bull-rushing Jackrabbit up against the ropes. He begins to lay big fists into Jackrabbits sternum, doubling Rabbit over. The referee calls for the clean break, but Sirus does not listen, continuing the assault with a series of chops to Jackrabbits bare chest. The crowd naturally woos along with the chops as Rabbits chest gets lit up red. The referee pushes himself between the two now, separating the competitors. Jackrabbit takes advantage, leaning over the referee and driving a thumb into Siruss eye. Will Prydor: Angering SED-N has just encouraged him here so far. Jake Steel: Jackrabbit weathered a storm from Sirus here, but that rage just got him a thumb in the eye for his troubles. Will Prydor: The referee didnt see it and thats exactly how Jackrabbit planned it. As SED-N tries to regain his sight, Jackrabbit hooks him up under his arms and fires off a snap suplex, floating over into the cover. 1. 2.. Barely a two count as SED-N kicks free, still clawing at his own eye to clear it. Jackrabbit now fires off a series of closed fists, aimed perfectly at the bloodied forehead of his opponent. The cut widens, as the referee counts 5 on the closed fists. He has to push Jackrabbit off, but Rabbit rolls straight back onto Sirus, locking in a tight rear chin lock. Will Prydor: Thats across the throat, Jake, thats a choke! Jake Steel: Tell it to the referee! Sirus struggles against the hold, his face turning purple from the blood loss and the choke on his airways. The referee gets involved, telling Rabbit to break the hold, forcing both men back to a standing position. Sirus now holds his throat trying to regain his breath, and the referee admonishes Jackrabbit. This distraction allows Sirus the opening and he kicks Jackrabbit square between the legs. Rabbit buckles over, somehow maintaining a standing position, but all this does is allow SED-N to leap up into the air and land a perfect Jumping Reverse Bulldog. Both men crash to the mat clumsily. Sirus rolls onto his stomach, still catching his breath, and pulls himself to a standing position. Jackrabbit is still down, holding his crown jewels, and SED-N leaps up onto the middle road, springboarding off to land a twisting elbow drop direct to the gut. Jackrabbit is winded. Both men struggle to their feet and begin exchanging blows in the centre. Sirus grabs Rabbits arm, wrenching it around and then firing off the Irish Whip, but Rabbit reverses and send SED-N against the far ropes. Sirus comes back and ducks the discus clothesline, hitting the opposite ropes and coming back with a cross body block! Both men go down, Sirus on top but Jackrabbit rolls through but Sirus rolls through as well, landing himself neatly on top of his opponent and suddenly grabbing a handful of Jackrabbits shorts to hold him down. Will Prydor: Illegal pin attempt! 1. 2. Jackrabbit kicks out before the three. Will Prydor: Neither of these men are paying any attention whatsoever to the rules here! Jake Steel: Just the way I like it! Rulebook out of the window, balls to the wall! Will Prydor: Balls to the wall is what you like, huh? Jake Steel: Yes! No, wait, what? Both men are at a vertical base, and Sirus overpowers Jackrabbit, driving him back into the corner. He rains fists on the bridge of Rabbits nose, before bending Rabbit over and climbing backwards up the turnbuckle, hoisting his opponent up behind him. Will Prydor: SED-N looking for Via Dolorosa! Jake Steel: Of course he is, SED-N looking to put this one away! SED-N gets Rabbit up onto his shoulders, but Jackrabbit hops over his head and lands on the top turnbuckle precariously. He shoves SED-N down to the mat, then waits for his prey. SED-N scrambles back to his feet as Jackrabbit launches, but SED-N catches him on his shoulders and dumps him upside down on the turnbuckle in a Tree of Woe. He begins stomping JRs head, then presses his foot tight against Rabbits throat. The referee is exasperated at another illegal hold, counting a hasty 5 count then physically shoving himself between SED-N and Jackrabbit. Jackrabbit crumples back to the mat, but Sirus leaps on top, wrapping him up in a package-style pin. 1. 2. No, rope break! Jackrabbits gets an arm onto the rope, breaking the count at two. Both men back to their feet, SED-N forces Rabbit against the ropes and ties him up in them, trapping both arms in the tight wires. As the referee begins yet another five count, Jackrabbit tries to kick at Sirus, but to no avail, as Sirus takes a big run up then body blocks both men out to ringside. Jake Steel: Both men dumped back on the concrete! Sirus is in control! Will Prydor: Its been back and forth, trying to outsmart each other with their flexible grasp of the rules. Were seeing a more vicious Jackrabbit here as Sirus drips blood, but SED-N is not one to be outdone and hes turning it up! Jake Steel: Theyre making statements, Will! They both have championship tournaments to keep focused on. Sirus put away DaKerrion and Rabbit last defeated Nick Perry, so they both have everything to play for! Will Prydor: Not if they keep up this pace they wont! At ringside, the Jackrabbit has managed to turn the tables- literally, as he clears the commentary desk off and bounces Sirus bloody head off the top. Sirus crumples to the ground but Jackrabbit pulls him back up and fires him off the crowd barricade. He yells YOU WONT DEFEAT ME THIS TIME, TALON! as he pulls Sirus back up, and his time sends him shoulder first into the ring post. Sirus hangs there in pain as Jackrabbit sets up an Irish Whip and fires off Sirus, but SED-N reverses the whip again and its Jackrabbit who crashes bodily into the steel steps. Sirus takes the moment to catch his breath, rolling back into the ring as the referee continues the count out. He reaches 8 before the Jackrabbit rolls back into the ring himself, but Sirus is straight on him, pulling him up and setting him up in suplex position. He lifts Jackrabbit vertically, looking for a brainbuster, but Rabbit drives his knee down into the top of Sirus skull, and Sirus has no choice but to drop Jackrabbit back to his feet. Jackrabbit doubles Sirus over with ease, butterflying the arms and launching him overhead with a double underhook tiger suplex across the ring. Sirus clambers back up on instinct, holding onto the ropes, and Jackrabbit grabs him from behind, hoisting him up for a Lifting Inverted DDT, but The Quintessential Superstar spins his body over and uses a tilt-a-whirl arm drag to send Jackrabbit across the ring. Will Prydor: Given his size, its easy to forget that SED-N has accomplished skills in lucha libre. Jake Steel: We call it dumb flippy shit here in the States, Prydor. Will Prydor: You can call it whatever you want, Jake, but it just put the Jackrabbit on his ass in the corner. SED-N runs in for a boot in the corner, but Jackrabbit ducks out of the way and Sirus gets his foot tied up in the corner. Jackrabbit kicks viciously at the underside of Del Nortes calf. Sirus is still wedged, and JR swings another violent kick, this time dumping SED-N onto the mat. Sirus rolls back away from the bottom turnbuckle and doesnt see Jackrabbit ascend to the top rope. Turning around to face the crowd and the chorus of boos from them, Jackrabbit launches himself from the top but completely misses the Moonsault as Sirus rolls to safety. Sirus hoists Jackrabbit up, grabs his arm and shoves him forward, then pulls him back with the Irish Whip right into a DDT. Will Prydor: He calls that The Scourge. Jake Steel: I call it jumping off the turnbuckle like an idiot and landing flat on his face. Sirus just knows how to capitalize on an idiot. Will Prydor: Jake, you know they call it high risk for a- Jake Steel: Dont you dare finish that sentence. SED-N lays himself flat over the Jackrabbit, forcing his pinned opponents face down with his forearm. 1. 2. Sirus leaps up in agony as Jackrabbit has clamped his feet down on his wrist. Will Prydor: He bit him! Jake Steel: Maybe thats why they call him Jackrabbit? Sirus is demanding the referee call for a disqualification, and so he doesnt notice the Jackrabbit rise to his feet behind him. I AM BETTER THAN YOU, TALON! the Jackrabbit yells, firing off a spinning heel kick to the back of Sirus head. SED-N hits the mat hard, but instead of pinning, the Jackrabbit marches around the ring with his arm raised like he just won the World Title. Jake Steel: Does Jackrabbit think he won?! He didnt even pin him! Will Prydor: Actually Jake from what hes been saying, I think Jackrabbit thinks he just beat Talon Jake Steel: But that match is the finals of our Round Robin tournament! Talon isnt out here until his match with Draco in our main event. Jackrabbit must be fucking insane Will Prydor: For Gods sake dont let him hear you saying that, Jake The Jackrabbit continues his charade around the ring which gives SED-N the time to get to his feet, and from behind Jackrabbit he grabs his hair and tugs him into a Dragon Sleeper hold. The referee moves in for the submission, but as SED-N applies more pressure, both men realize that the Jackrabbit is actually laughing in the hold. Sirus looks frustrated, but he doesnt release the hold, instead modifying it into an Underhook Inverted Brainbuster! Jackrabbit hits the mat hard, and he isnt moving. SED-N drags him to his feet, and Jackrabbit is wobbly but conscious. Sirus bends him over and pulls him backwards to the turnbuckle. He climbs up onto the second rope, grabbing Jackrabbit up with him. Will Prydor: SED-N has Via Dolorosa in his sights! Jake Steel: If Sirus hits this one, count Jackrabbit out. Its done. Sirus climbs up one further rung to the top rope, dragging Jackrabbit up underneath him. He pulls Rabbits head between his legs, but Jackrabbit suddenly comes to life, lifting Sirus over the back of his head, and preventing the Back Body Drop by grabbing onto Sirus ankles. He holds Sirus upside-down on his back for a second, yelling YOUR FATE IS BROKEN, TALON! then leaps off the turnbuckle backwards, spiking Sirus head on the mat. Will Prydor: Last Laugh! Last Laugh! Jake Steel: Jackrabbit with the Last Laugh from the top rope! And hes covered Sirus! Jackrabbit lies backwards over Sirus body, laughing the entire time. 1. 2. 3! The bell rings as Jackrabbit flops off his opponent. Zach King: The winner of this match by pinfall THE JACKRABBIT! The Jackrabbit uses the ropes to pull himself vertical, and the referee attempts to raise his arm but he pulls it away, refusing the celebration. With his back heel, he makes the motion as though kicking dirt over Sirus, then drops himself out to ringside to collect his chains. Sirus is conscious, cradling his head. Will Prydor: Sirus Esteban Del Norte put up a fight here against a game Jackrabbit and proved why he belongs amongst the elite here in NLW. He has a bright future here, Jake! Jake Steel: He came up short, but theres no shame in losing to Jackrabbit. Hes off to face Talon for a chance at the NLW World Championship! Assuming somebody tells him this wasnt Talon he just beat in this match |
