Bobby Shavonie -
..The remaining three spots are up in the air tonight; in
three matches that all could be Match of the Year
Candidates. Nick Burst - The
talent is there Bobby. As is the desire. But in the end
three of those six competitors will end up eliminated,
and the other three have to prepare for a night from hell
on Pay Per View. Bobby Shavonie - I
personally cannot wait to see how everything shakes down.
The camera pulls
away from the two commentators to head over to the time
keepers table, where Missy Janson is sitting. Nick Burst - Well
it looks like we don't have to wait much longer. No
interruptions before our first match means the night is
starting off on the right foot. Bobby Shavonie - I
agree. With two men who have been involved in a lot of
issues on our shows, both Jackrabbit and Plague should
look to keep this match as straightforward as possible. Nick Burst - I'm
sure they'd both love to, but they're both hated by The
Movement; and as they said at the beginning of the show,
they're only looking to be more dominant than they
already are. What better way to do so than to take down
the opponent of Talon a peg or two before they even reach
the Pay Per View? Bobby Shavonie - I
certainly hope that isn't the case here. Getting up to her
feet the OWF Ring Announcer is sure to pick up her
microphone off the table, staring out into the mass of
fans who are rather subdued compared to how they were to
start the night. Nick Burst - Cross
your fingers, your toes and your balls, cause I sense
them coming. Bobby Shavonie - I
think if my testicles get crossed I'll have a hernia. Nick Burst - It's
worth the risk. Do it for the cause, Bobby! A few seconds
later Missy Janson lifts the microphone up and begins her
announcements for the evening. Missy Janson -
HELLO TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI! AND THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE
FOR OWF FRIDAY ADDICTION! The fans here in
Tupelo jump right back to the volume they were at
earlier, which Missy responds to with a smile as she
takes a deep breath; waiting for them to settle down. Missy Janson - The
first match of the night is scheduled for a one-fall,
with no time limit; and it is a Second Round match in the
2014 OWF Quest For The Best Tournament! A nice response
follows these words, but Missy Janson is quick to
continue on with her introductions. Missy Janson - Out
first... from Toronto, Ontario, Canada... He is the 11th
Seed in the Quest For The Best Tournament... Plague! The entire arena
goes black, and silent with exception of the occasional
camera flash and the cheers of the crowd. Suddenly the
the heavy riffs of Bullet with a Name rip through the
silence, followed by the lyrics leading up to the chorus. "I
GOT A BULLET WITH A NAME ON IT." Simultaneously,
flames go off on either side of the entrance ramp, and
Plague walks out from the back, pausing at the top of the
ramp, before shaking out his hands, and shifts his weight
from one foot to another like a boxer would. "A
BULLET WITH A NAME." With a smile to
the cheering crowd, he heads down the ramp bumping fists
with some of the fans as he goes. Bobby Shavonie -
Plague is coming off a rough loss at Campus Chaos, after
stringing together a good amount of solid performances.
Tonight he's going to have to be at his best to get into
the Quarterfinals of the Quest For The Best, though. Nick Burst - He
knows that, or at least he should. Nobody is going to
slum it in any of these matches tonight; and if they do,
they'll find themselves on the outside looking in. Bobby Shavonie -
Do you like Plague's chances? Do you think he has a shot
to run the table, starting tonight? Nick Burst - I
think Plague has gotten better as time has gone on, but I
don't think he has faced a challenge like this since he
has been back. Then again, it was The Jackrabbit who
eliminated Plague in the Brawltopia match back in
November; so if he needs extra motivation, he's got it. Bobby Shavonie - I
had almost completely forgotten about that. Nick Burst - I bet
you Plague hasn't stopped thinking about it since it
happened. What better way to get revenge than with a win
here tonight? Bobby Shavonie -
Well he can't be too focused on the past, otherwise the
future will slip right through his fingers. Halfway down he
breaks into a sprint and slides into the ring, heading
over to his corner once he stands. His music fades out he
prepares himself for the match. The camera cuts back
outside, and Missy continues her introductions without
skipping a beat. Missy Janson - And
introducing next... from Parts Unknown... He is the 6th
Seed in the Quest For The Best Tournament... The
Jackrabbit! The arena lights
dim and the sound of metal chains scraping a concrete
floor can be heard across the sound system. They are
broken up by a shrill laughter around the arena and the
crowd explodes into cheers. As smoke fills the
entrance-ramp area, "Out Of My Head" by Puddle
of Mudd kicks in and the Jackrabbit appears at the top of
the ramp. "What
is wrong with all my friends Steel chains drape
across his shoulders and behind him on the ground as the
Jackrabbit slowly makes his way to the ring. Nick Burst - I'm
proud and more than happy to say that The Jackrabbit has
gotten rid of EJ Slayer; a task I was hoping he would
pull off, and he did. Bobby Shavonie -
The violent streak we have seen from Jackrabbit was good
enough for Campus Chaos, but tonight those chains he
brings with him are for nothing more than decoration. Nick Burst - Well
he can use them if he wants, but he'll just be sent home
packing because of it. Don't worry about that though. The
Jackrabbit has proved himself to be more than capable
when in a normal match like this. He just can't let his
frustrations get the better of him tonight. Bobby Shavonie -
Well one of these men will be declared a winner here, and
if you ask me I think it's going to be the wrestler who
asserts himself first in this contest. Nick Burst - I can
understand why you'd think such a thing, that if Plague
or Jackrabbit can establish a flow their opponent will
have to follow their lead. Problem is when you have
talented guys like this they can flip the switch on a bad
situation in a heartbeat, so nothing is given. Bobby Shavonie -
Oh that's an understatement. Not just for this match, but
every match, our wrestlers have to fight with everything
they have to move on. We've seen men like Kid Dynamo, EJ
Slayer and Redemption get beat by lower seeds; who came
out of the gates firing. Nick Burst - And
trust me, The Jackrabbit is well aware of the talent
Plague brings. This match won't be a fluke win, in either
direction. Climbing under the
bottom rope, he suddenly sprints to the turnbuckle and
climbs it, staring out over the audience with a stony
look on his face and his chains clutched to his chest. "No
one's ever listening The Jackrabbit
suddenly breaks into a manic smile before stamping back
to the middle of the ring. The referee tries to coerce
the chains from him, but he pulls back on them, giving
the referee a wild-eyed look before finally relinquishing
them with a shrill laugh. The lights come back up as the
Jackrabbit takes his place in the corner, as his music
fades and the OWF Official discards of the chains to the
outside. Now that the two
competitors are in their corners, OWF Official Calvin
Mills checks with both to ensure they are ready; and then
signals to the time keepers table for the bell to be
rung. QUEST FOR THE BEST
TOURNAMENT VS (Ding, Ding, Ding...) Moving forwards out of their respective
corners Plague and The Jackrabbit move towards the center
of the ring, rearing their hands up across their face
obviously aware of what the other is capable of. When
they get within striking distance Plague whips a sharp
right kick to the outside of Jackrabbit's left thigh,
then steps back to bounce on the balls of his feet. The
Jackrabbit keeps moving around the squared circle and
approaches his opponent only to be met with a front kick
to the stomach that bends JR over at the waist for a
brief second, allowing Plague to hit a rising knee to his
face. Hanging back Plague allows The Jackrabbit time to
compose himself once he is back upright, shaking his head
from side to side to get his focus back. The two men
approach one another again and Plague goes for a haymaker
right hand, which Jackrabbit ducks under by just a hair
to pull himself up behind his opponent. As soon as Plague
turns around he is slapped across the face with JR's
right hand, which is followed by the left open hand of
The Jackrabbit; who pauses and raises his fingers in the
air, as if ready to parade around in a circle, but
doesn't dare stop his momentum as he coils up his right
arm and sends it driving forward towards Plague's head.
Having been a victim of Slap Happy, Plague is able to get
both of his forearms up in front of his face; blocking
the the strike easily, and immediately sends a roundhouse
kick up to the side of JR's head. This staggers him to
his right where he grabs onto the middle ropes on that
side of the ring, keeping himself from falling over; but
exposing his back for Plague to come up from behind and
trap him in a reverse waist lock. Refusing to let go of
the ropes The Jackrabbit makes Plague work for it as he
tries to tug him into the middle of the ring, and only
when he is ready does he let the tension in his fingers
go free. Plague takes The Jackrabbit towards the center
of the ring only to have his grasp broken, and then he
falls victim to a standing switch as it's now Jackrabbit
who has Plague in a reverse waist lock. It's only
maintained for a second before Plague throws his left
elbow back behind his head, connecting with the left side
of JR's face effectively breaking the hold he has around
his opponent's waist. Knowing exactly what he wants to do
next Plague bursts forward and turns his body so that his
back makes contact with the opposite set of ring ropes,
propelling him back towards the center of the ring; and
thus his opponent. The Jackrabbit collects himself and
sees this unfolding in front of his face and when Plague
approaches he steps to his right and drives his left knee
cap up into the stomach of Plague; briefly dropping him
down to his hands and knees, trying to suck some air back
into his lungs. Seizing the opportunity The Jackrabbit
approaches the head of his opponent and tucks it between
his legs, before butterflying the arms of Plague behind
his back. He doesn't even have a chance to try to lift
Plague up for the underhook powerbomb, as Jackrabbit is
back body dropped flat onto his back by his opponent who
stands up to his feet a renewed man. Spinning around on
the heels of his boots Plague turns to see The Jackrabbit
just now sitting himself up on his rear, and he dashes
forward; delivering a soccer kick to the exposed back of
his opponent, freezing JR where he is for the time being.
Plague backs off a few steps and watches in shock as The
Jackrabbit shakes off any sort of pain as he coils his
body back up to it's feet, staring ahead right into the
eyes of his opponent. The fans cheer out loud in firm
support of The Jackrabbit and Plague refuses to back down
from this challenge, engaging JR by walking in a circle
around the ring; forcing him to do the same. They come
together in a collar and elbow tie-up but it's evident
that Plague isn't going into this looking to be even with
his opponent, and he quickly transitions this into a side
headlock. He uses that to flip The Jackrabbit over onto
his back, giving him a clean release as Plague stands
upright following the headlock takedown. A bit stunned
but none worse for the wear The Jackrabbit rolls back to
his feet and lunges forward, instigating another collar
and elbow lock up; this one that he gets the advantage
on, locking Plague in a side headlock. Not a second later
now The Jackrabbit performs a headlock takedown on
Plague, as a firm receipt, and gets upright to stand over
him as now it's Plague who has to get up to his feet a
bit ashamed. When he does Plague slaps The Jackrabbit
across the face as hard as he can with his right hand,
and the crowd gasps when they see this. The Jackrabbit
stands his ground, turning his head off the slap to look
at Plague; and then leaps forward, tackling Plague to the
canvas with a double leg take down in order to mount him.
JR begins raining down right and left hands towards the
face of Plague, some of which are deflected by his
opponent's arms; but a good number find their mark.
Having been dealt a good bit of damage Plague reaches his
arms up, latching his hands around the back of his
opponent's head and rolls The Jackrabbit over onto his
back. Now he looks to get a bit of retribution by firing
away with short right and left hands, which are mostly
blocked by The Jackrabbit. When Plague moves onto
downward elbow shots The Jackrabbit can't do anything to
avoid the clubbing nature of the shot, then gets caught
with a left hook while his guard is down. Rolling himself
over onto his chest The Jackrabbit remains vulnerable as
his opponent stands up to his feet hovering over him
before reaching down, locking him in a sleeper hold.
Rearing upwards Plague pulls Jackrabbit up to his knees
trapped in the submission, bringing OWF Referee Calvin
Mills in to check on his condition. There's no need as
The Jackrabbit reaches upwards with both arms, grabbing
Plague's head and using the angle of his body he flips
his opponent over onto his back; escaping the sleeper
hold and bounding up to his feet from his knees. Again
The Jackrabbit stays back as Plague takes some time to
stand up, and gets to a standing position with his
shoulders squared to his opponent; finding themselves in
this position once again. Bobby Shavonie - Wow, Nick! We've seen one
heck of a match here so far! Nick Burst - This isn't a match, this is a
fight. Bobby Shavonie - What do you mean? We've
seen a lot of wrestling moves and counters here so far. Nick Burst - Sure, but that's part of the
process. These two are battling mentally and physically,
and they've been putting on a show to start this match.
This is what happens when you put two capable athletes in
the ring against one another, in a tournament setting. Bobby Shavonie - Neither man wants to
suffer a defeat here, for multiple reasons. But do you
think looking strong in defeat would appease either man? Nick Burst - Probably not, even if it
should be a bright spot to whomever loses. We both know
these men can go. We both know what they are capable of.
If the match continues like this, the loser will have
nothing to be ashamed of; because these guys brought
their A game tonight. There's no more picking their spots or
jostling for position between the two as Plague comes
forward with a right hook that is blocked by the rising
left forearm of The Jackrabbit. In retaliation he fires a
straight right hand into the face of Plague, knocking his
opponent back a step. When he looks to make up that step
with an elbow strike from his left arm The Jackrabbit
comes up empty as Plague ducks his head down, quickly
straightening himself up prepared for a response. Kicking
his right leg up is the first thing he does, looking for
a roundhouse kick to JR's head; but now it's The
Jackrabbit who ducks down, avoiding the kick by about a
foot before he stands back upright to throw a right
forearm to the face of Plague as he turns around. Oddly
enough as Plague spins around his idea is to throw a
right forearm and the two competitors clock each other
with simultaneous forearm shivs, bringing pause to their
next set of actions. Trying to dictate the pace Plague
steps forward to perform a european uppercut under the
jaw of his opponent, whipping JR's head backwards as he
struggles to remain on his feet. A little out of breath
Plague doesn't move forward until he is sure his opponent
is remaining on his feet, but as he does he gets caught
with a headbutt straight to the brow of his forehead from
The Jackrabbit; the result of which is Plague dropping to
a knee directly in front of him. His reaction is to grab
Plague in a front face lock and lead him up to his feet;
completely abandoning the hold as he gets his opponent
standing. The Jackrabbit moves forward, tucking his head
under Plague's left arm and extending his own right arm
to grab him around the left side of his neck. Lifting
Plague up The Jackrabbit manages to spin him around for
The Fatemaker; but his opponent frees himself from the
spinning uranage slam, landing on his feet behind his
opponent. As soon as The Jackrabbit turns around he sees
Plague charging at him and he leaps up into the air,
bringing his hands around the back of JR's head and
positioning his knees right in his face; reading for the
double knee facebuster he calls Infected. Somehow The
Jackrabbit summons the strength in his arms to clutch
Plague around the back of his knees and prevents himself
from falling forward, instead directing Plague to a seat
on the top rope in the nearest corner. Once he releases
Plague's legs Jackrabbit is met with a boot to the face
that sends him backpedaling towards the middle of the
ring, while Plague decides to stand himself up on the
middle rope inside of the ring just waiting for his
moment. When it comes he flys out of the corner with his
left knee directed at Jackrabbit's head, but JR dodges
out of the way just in time to avoid the shot which
forces Plague to land on his feet on the mat to avoid
wiping out to the canvas. By the time he spins upon the
balls of his feet to square his shoulders to his opponent
Plague is already met with The Jackrabbit's right
shoulder dug into his stomach; forcing him back-first
against the ring ropes. With no intention of keeping his
opponent pinned agaiinst the ring cables The Jackrabbit
takes a step backwards, pops his hips, and out of nowhere
delivers a beautiful northern lights suplex; bridging his
back to pin Plague's shoulders to the mat; bringing the
referee in to make a count. 1... 2... Plague
kicks out and the two men roll away from one another,
with Jackrabbit maybe just a step ahead of his opponent
at this point. Bobby Shavonie - That was the first pinfall
attempted in this match, which shows you just how hotly
contested it is. Nick Burst - And it shows just how quickly
this can end for one of these men. They both have some
gas left in the tank, but I fully expect them to be
kicking it into a higher gear from here on out; and all
it takes is three seconds, or a three taps on the mat for
the match to be over. At the same time, don't expect to
see many pinfall attempts here. These two are well aware
none of this early match bullshit is going to win them
the match. As The Jackrabbit regains a stance on his
feet the crowd greets him warmly, with just about all of
them standing on their feet cheering JR on as he is
proactive for the first time in the contest; reaching
down to grab Plague around the head, aiding him to a
standing position. Using some sort of motivation, whether
it's emotional or mental, Plague grabs JR around the back
of the head and delivers two weak knees to his opponent's
stomach; then a second later tosses him to his right,
sending Jackrabbit back-first against the ring ropes. As
he comes back off the ring cables JR cannot avoid being
flipped over flat to his back with a vicious powerslam
from Plague, who opts to roll away after hitting the huge
move; looking to recover with this advantage. Seeing a
great contest between two hard working individuals the
fans give a strong cheer to both men, as Plague is
already up on his knees keeping his eyes peeled on his
opponent. The Jackrabbit knows what to do and is already
over on his stomach, pushing himself up to his knee caps
and elbows, with no idea of where Plague is currently. He
finds out maybe a second or two later when Plague grabs
onto him with a front face lock, which he only uses to
tug The Jackrabbit up to his feet. Releasing his opponent
Plague crushes him with a front kick to the chest,
sending JR staggering back on his heels with Plague quick
to move in ready to strike. He connects with a right
forearm shot to Jackrabbit's face, forcing his opponent
back-first against the ring cables; where Plague comes in
to deliver a rising knee to the diaphragm of The
Jackrabbit. That shot paralyzes him for a split second,
allowing Plague to grab onto the left wrist of Jackrabbit
with his left hand; using it to irish whip him off of the
ring ropes into a sprint across the ring. As The
Jackrabbit turns so that his back can hit the cables on
the opposite side of the squared circle, he hooks his
arms over the top rope to completely stop his movement;
preventing him from traveling back towards his awaiting
opponent. When Plague sees this he jumps into action by
running forward, so fast that he cannot avoid the back
body drop attempt from JR; who flips Plague over the top
rope. Somehow Plague is able to use both of his hands to
grab that top ring cable, and sticks his landing on the
edge of the ring apron outside of the ring with both
feet. When The Jackrabbit turns around he is headbutted
across the bridge of his nose by Plague, who quickly
latches onto his opponent to set him up into a suplex
hold over the top rope; which brings the remainder of
fans who weren't already standing up to their feet.
Plague tries to suplex Jackrabbit to the outside of the
ring and manages to lift his feet off the mat by about a
foot or two, but cannot gain the leverage to do so.
Trying to get himself back into the bout The Jackrabbit
summons some strength and gets Plague up about half-way
into a vertical suplex, but the furious kicking of his
legs forces JR to set his opponent back down to his feet
on the edge of the apron. Thinking about the short-term
future Plague drops down to the floor, tugging The
Jackrabbit throat-first down upon the top ring cable as
he lands on his feet on the concrete. Meanwhile back
inside of the ring The Jackrabbit is trying to take a
deep breath or swallow, but neither seem to be working as
he walks towards the middle of the ring completely losing
track of his opponent. As quick as a fox Plague hops back
up to the ring apron's edge, clutching the top rope with
both hands just watching The Jackrabbit slowly spin
himself around to face him. Using his upper body strength
Plague pulls himself up to a stance on the top rope and
comes springboarding off of it, directing himself towards
his opponent looking for a cross body block. At the last
possible second The Jackrabbit takes to the air, lays
out, and drives both of his boots into the face of
Plague; knocking him dead out of the air with a beautiful
dropkick. The crowd cheers out loud as both men hit
the canvas, in their varying degrees of pain both trying
to pull themselves back upright as quickly as possible.
It's a slow go of it for Plague, but The Jackrabbit is
able to recover relatively fast; getting himself up to a
single knee, facing his downed opponent. Concentrating
only on getting to a standing position, and not worried
about Plague's progress at all, The Jackrabbit gets back
on his feet and the cheers of the fans get even louder
when that occurs. Hanging back, bending over to place his
hands on the top of his knees, The Jackrabbit moves to a
blind spot of Plague and watches him very closely as he
starts his progress up off of the fabric of the squared
circle. As moments pass Plague finally summons the
strength to get his feet back under his frame and he
turns around, only to have the head of his opponent stuck
between his thighs. Lifting upwards The Jackrabbit hangs
Plague upside down over his back, holding onto the back
of his legs in an overhead belly to back piledriver
position. Just as he's ready to sit out to hit The Last
Laugh, Plague unhinges his legs from JR's grasp and flops
over onto his back; grabbing onto Jackrabbit's legs and
rolling him up with a sunset flip. Instead of going for
the pinfall Plague pushes his opponent over onto his
hands and knees, then delivers a sharp kick flush to JR's
face as Plague lays right in front of him. Becoming
stunned for a few seconds forces The Jackrabbit to remain
motionless on all fours while Plague takes advantage of
this situation, bounding up to his feet to grab The
Jackrabbit by the back of his head. While bringing his
opponent upwards Plague also tucks JR's head between his
legs, and latches down around his opponent's waist with
both arms; not even waiting for The Jackrabbit to get up
to his feet before swinging him up to a seated position
on his shoulders in a powerbomb hold. Before Plague can
execute the move his opponent fights back, driving
repeated right hands down upon his exposed forehead;
resulting in Plague letting Jackrabbit off the hook, but
not by his own will. Now standing on his own two feet
again The Jackrabbit decides to go low, kicking his right
leg around looking for a leg sweep but somehow Plague
sees it coming and is able to hop up over it. Off the
miss Jackrabbit turns himself to face his opponent who is
already prepared for this, throwing a low left kick at
JR's face; which he just narrowly misses when Jackrabbit
yanks his head out of the way. Now running off the same
idea, but different applications of it, the two men
struggle to square their shoulders to one another when
they are both standing; and as a result they freeze,
unsure of what to do next when met with their opponent
staring right at them. Nick Burst - I'm not alone when I say that
you have to be thoroughly impressed by the effort of
these two guys tonight. Even The Jackrabbit and Plague
have to be impressed with one another. Bobby Shavonie - There's no time for that,
now. This match has been going on for a while now and if
you held a gun to my head I wouldn't be able to tell you
who has the edge. Someone has to win, and I think we're
going to find out soon. Nick Burst - Well technically these two
could wrestle all night; no time limit. But I agree,
their bodies are starting to fade; but their
determination is not. Bobby Shavonie - What a way to open up the
final OWF Addiction before the Quest For The Best Pay Per
View! Striking first Plague clocks JR with a
right hook to the jaw, but The Jackrabbit absorbs the
blow and retaliates with a right hook of his own;
continuing the stalemate between the two individuals.
Lunging forward Plague brings a rising knee strike up
into the gut of The Jackrabbit, which doubles his
opponent over; allowing Plague to hit a downward elbow
upon the base of JR's skull which drops him to a knee.
Ready to get back to work Plague locks JR in a front face
lock and yanks him up to his feet, only to find his
opponent pulling himself free a second later. Before
Plague can do anything about it he is met with a left
elbow shiv to the side of the face, followed by a right
forearm from The Jackrabbit that keeps his opponent dazed
on his feet. Going for the kill shot The Jackrabbit
twirls around, looking for a spinning back elbow to his
opponent's face with his right arm but Plague has enough
gas left in the tank to avoid it, ducking just under the
elbow of his opponent. When they turn around to face each
other, once again, they each nail one another with
mirrored standing clothesline attempts; which although
are stunning, don't pack enough punch to knock either man
down. A desperate Plague goes for a left hook with his
arm, but has it blocked by the right forearm of his
opponent; and when The Jackrabbit looks for a rebuttal,
his right jab is blocked by the left arm of Plague. Going
through the same brain function the two men take a step
back, then kick their right legs up into the sky;
connection with a roundhouse kick at the exact same
second as their opponent, sending both superstars
collapsing down to the canvas side by side. The audience
loves it, standing on their feet to project their voices
down to the ring and through the telecast. It's hard to
tell who got the better of that exchange for OWF Official
Calvin Mills as he stands over both The Jackrabbit and
Plague, neither of whom have signified that they want to
quit. Instead they both show signs of life by stirring in
their own ways; Plague rolling over onto his hands and
knees while The Jackrabbit cautiously peels himself up
onto his left hip. The struggle to get up on their feet
before their opponent begins with Plague maybe a step
ahead of The Jackrabbit at this point, when Plague moves
off of his hands to remain only on his knees. The
Jackrabbit joins him there a second or two later and is
already thinking about getting up onto his feet, while
Plague is content just being where he is. About ten
seconds later The Jackrabbit and Plague find themselves
standing, facing one another, but for only a split
second. There's no staredown or moment of pause between
them as the two begin trading blows, back and forth, with
neither competitor giving an inch. It breaks down to
Plague and Jackrabbit pummeling one another with repeated
forearms to each other's faces, and the fans are
absolutely loving it. Finally it's Plague who manages to get an
advantage and immediately latches onto The Jackrabbit,
looking for a belly to belly suplex; but he's wasted all
of his energy throwing strikes that he cannot budge him.
To break himself free from the clutches of his opponent
The Jackrabbit dips his head backwards then thrusts it
forward upon the bridge of Plague's nose, causing him to
lose his clutches around his opponent. As fast as he can
The Jackrabbit takes hold of Plague's left arm and tucks
it between his opponent's own legs, cinching in a
pumphandle hold; from which The Jackrabbit swings his
opponent up onto his right shoulder, ready to drive him
head-first down into the mat. The attempt at The Lunatic
Fringe is thwarted when Plague squirms his way down off
of JR's shoulder, landing on his feet directly behind
him. Out of pure instinct Plague applies a full-nelson
hold on his opponent and squats down a bit, as if he is
preparing for a suplex. When he dips down almost into a
crouch he unwillingly allows The Jackrabbit plenty of
time and ability to yank his arms free; taking a step
forward and mule kicking Plague upon his bread basket.
Now doubled over in the center of the ring Plague is at
his opponent's mercy as without hesitation The Jackrabbit
moves in to butterfly Plague's arms behind his back. Just
as it looks like he's going to hit a double underhook
suplex, Plague spins away up to an upright position with
a hold of The Jackrabbit's right arm and tugs him forward
into a double knee facebuster; which he calls Infected.
The Jackrabbit is completely motionless as he flops over
onto his back and Plague wishes he had just a bit more
left in him to speed up the process of crawling over his
opponent's body in a lateral press; and only then
reaching down to hook a leg. The referee slides in,
feet-first, and begins the count once he's in position. 1...
2... When The Jackrabbit kicks out the fans go
insane, while Plague sits himself up staring at Calvin
Mills in disbelief. There's no time for arguing over
something that already happened and Plague is well aware
of this, so he begins standing himself up; making sure to
bring The Jackrabbit upwards with him. It's a bit of a
process and wastes precious energy for Plague to do this,
but he senses an advantage and looks to capitalize on it.
Finally getting his opponent back on his feet Plague
takes a second to compose himself, and in those one
thousand milliseconds The Jackrabbit bursts forward;
taking hold of Plague around his neck with JR's right
arm, dipping his head under his opponent's left. Lifting
him up and swinging him around Jackrabbit hits the
spinning uranage slam he calls The Fatemaker; and right
after impact he's already trying to hook onto Plague's
legs for a pinfall. As he achieves that goal, forcing his
opponent's shoulders down into the mat, Calvin Mills
dives in to make his count. 1... 2... Plague
kicks out! Nick Burst - It's getting hot and heavy in
there! Now it's The Jackrabbit who furiously does
his best to get up to his feet without the use of his
arms, as his hands are placed around either side of
Plague's head as he wants his opponent to join him in a
standing position. It takes a good deal of effort for him
to accomplish this, then suddenly he irish whips Plague
towards the nearest side of the ring; assisting in the
turn of his opponent, so that he hits with his back and
returns to the middle of the ring to JR. Bending over The
Jackrabbit is ready to back body drop Plague, but
completely telegraphs it; allowing Plague to stop himself
short, and tuck JR's head between his legs. Slightly
bending himself over Plague wraps both of his arms around
The Jackrabbit's waist; but just as he is about to lift
him up, The Jackrabbit pulls himself to a standing
position. He holds Plague upside down over his back and
sits out, driving his opponent's head flat into the mat
with the over the back belly to back piledriver. As
Plague crumples to the mat The Jackrabbit can only muster
up a pinfall by laying his back on his opponent's chest,
and weakly hooking one of his legs; with the referee
right there to make the count. 1... 2... 3! Nick Burst - HE GOT HIM! Bobby Shavonie - What a beautiful counter,
and it earned him the win! Missy Janson - The winner of this match...
and moving on to the Quarterfinal Round of the 2014 Quest
For The Best Tournament... The Jackrabbit! Bobby Shavonie - A great match between
these two, but The Jackrabbit was just a bit better
tonight! Only able to get up to his knees after the
pinfall The Jackrabbit has his hand raised by the
referee, while Plague rolls away towards the side of the
ring. Nick Burst - They both brought everything
they had to the table, and it could have gone either way.
Bobby Shavonie - It's a shame that someone
has to lose matches like this. Nick Burst - Yeah but that's the name of
the game. Plague is eliminated but able to hold his head
up high in defeat, and The Jackrabbit moves on to the
Quarterfinals of the Quest For The Best Tournament; where
he will be facing the winner of there match between Eva
De La Cruz and Talon later tonight. Bobby Shavonie - The level of match quality
in the Second Round is absolutely incredible. Nick Burst - We've spoken about this
before, Bobby. In the First Round people could get by on
a weak effort. Now you have to be at your best, and also
have a bit of luck in order to move on. There's no doubt
in my mind that Plague could have taken The Jackrabbit;
just not tonight, as Jackrabbit was as perfect as he
could have been. Remaining inside of the ring The Jackrabbit
starts to stand himself upright, just as Plague uses the
ropes to get up to his knees. He seems reluctant to leave
the squared circle, staring at the man who was just his
opponent in disbelief. Bobby Shavonie - And now we only have two
more Second Round Matches before our Quarterfinals are
set! Nick Burst - I can't believe that. Things
have been moving so fast, by the time the Pay Per View is
done with we will be in May already. Bobby Shavonie - And we will have crowned a
2014 Quest For The Best Tournament winn-- Suddenly "Shout At The Devil"
hits the PA System, and the fans boo as they watch the
three members of The Movement emerge from backstage. Nick Burst - Oh fuck... Bobby Shavonie - The Movement is here! The camera view alternates between the
ring, where Plague and Jackrabbit try to collect
themselves after the grueling match, and the trio of
Talon, Redemption, and Adam Wilson approaching ringside
like lions stalking wounded prey. Talon clearly has a
lead pipe in his right hand as the stable confidently
approaches the ring while Plague and Jackrabbit try to
catch their breath in anticipation for the Movement's
intentions. Bobby Shavonie - This isn't looking good
for the guys in the ring. Nick Burst - No shit, Bobby! These two just
put each other through Hell to get the sixth spot in the
Quest for the Best show and now this? The Movement reach ringside and begin to
surround the ring. Plague and Jackrabbit look visibly
exhausted as they watch the Movement all climb up to
different sides of the ring apron. Bobby Shavonie - This does not loo- "GOOODDDDD MOOOOODE!" "Comfortable Liar" begins to play
without the usual flashing of the house lights. By the
time the guitar riffs hit the speaker, Dynamo is halfway
across the entrance ramp, jogging down to ringside. Nick Burst - What the Hell is HE doing
here? Bobby Shavonie - Maybe he's here to save
his teammate. Nick Burst - Yeah except he spent last week
telling us how they didn't need to save each other. Bobby Shavonie - That was before Plague was
facing a 3-on-1. Taking advantage of the attention
momentarily shifting towards Dynamo, Talon nimbly slides
in under the ropes, lead pipe in hand, behind Jackrabbit
and Plague while Redemption and Wilson snap to and slide
in from the side. Talon delivers a hard shot of lead pipe
to the back of Jackrabbit, then another to Plague. They
both get up slowly but purposefully, but the other two
members of the Movement jump up and deliver simultaneous
dropkicks to the two men. Meanwhile, Dynamo reaches the
ring as the Movement continue to stomp on their two
enemies. Adam Wilson turns around after hearing a noise
behind him. The sound he heard was Dynamo swiftly leaping
up onto the ring apron, grabbing the top rope and jumping
onto it, then springing off towards him. Wilson goes to
catch him but doesn't realize that Dynamo is aiming off
to his right. Dynamo extends his left arm and grabs hold
of Wilson's neck, using his gravitational momentum to
slam Wilson down to the ground with a "flying
chokeslam". The crowd pops lightly, forgetting who
they're cheering for a moment in the wake of the
Movement's attack being potentially thwarted. Once Dynamo
gets up, he immediately eats leather as Talon connects
with a big boot. Sensing the second piece of the End of
Reason, Dynamo rolls away and out of the ring. Redemption
and Wilson head outside to take him out, with Redemption
catching up to him where Dynamo and he start trading
punches while Wilson seeks out a steel chair to get the
odds back in their favor. Bobby Shavonie - This Quest for the Best
matchup has turned into an all-out brawl between these
six OWF superstars! Nick Burst - Yeah, and half of them are
headed straight for the Quest for the Best pay-per-view,
if they don't kill each other tonight! Meanwhile, Meanwhile, Talon stumbled after
losing his balance when his big right leg no longer had
Dynamo's head to drop onto, letting his lead pipe clatter
to the floor as he recovers. He takes a moment to watch
his partners chase after Dynamo, then turns around...and
stands face-to-face with Jackrabbit. The crowd pops as
the two spend a moment angrily glaring at each other,
just inches from one another. Both men move at the same
time and begin trading punches to the face. Back and
forth they go, but after a few volleys it becomes clear
that Talons imposing size and Jackrabbits
fatigue are enough to put this in the PDA Champions
advantage. Talon finally gets a punch that JR is not able
to immediately return. Sensing the opportunity, Talon
quickly reaches for the lead pipe on the ground and
swings towards Jackrabbits face. However, he finds
nothing but air as Jackrabbit ducks to a crouching
position to evade the shot. Talon's momentum causes him
to stumble forward...right into Plague's right foot as he
delivers a Vaccine to Talon! The shot drops the big man
to the ground, clutching his jaw in pain. Outside the
ring, Redemption gets enough of an advantage over Dynamo
to grab him and Irish whip him into the steel stairs.
Redemption pulls him up and goes for another whip but
Dynamo reverses. By now, Wilson, chair in hand, has
reached the other two. Seeing Redemption as he gets
reverse whipped in the direction of the steel steps,
Wilson drops the chair and gets in the way, catching
Redemption before he eats the steel. They turn to go back
after Dynamo, who rolls into the ring. When Redemption and Wilson look up, they
see their three opponents standing tall, with Talon on
one knee, nursing his jaw, and Plague holding the pipe
Talon originally brought to the fight. Suddenly,
Redemption breaks off from where he's standing and begins
to head to the exit. Bobby Shavonie - What on Earth is
Redemption doing? Talon reaches his feet as all five
remaining members of the fight watch Redemption retreat.
Talon looks over at his opponents, standing unified - out
of self-defense - and waiting for the Movement to attack.
Talon looks back at the entrance ramp where Redemption
just left, then exits the ring. The crowd boos as the
stable concludes the confrontation by slowly retreating
away. Bobby Shavonie - The Movement's on the run! Nick Burst - Well, they lost their
advantage, and Talon's still got a PDA Title match
tonight. Bobby Shavonie - Oh. Right. Redemption
walking out really changed the dynamic of the fight. "Out of My Head" plays as the
Movement members exit to backstage. Jackrabbit turns to
face Team Ego, both recent opponents of his, and they
exchange a staredown. After a tense moment, Jackrabbit
suddenly smiles crazily at them, then exits the ring.
Plague and Dynamo exchange weirded-out glances, then
start to leave the ring.
