Missy Janson - Without any further
hesitation, it is time for the first match of the
evening. It is scheduled for a one-fall, with no time
limit... She pauses willingly to catch her breath. Missy Janson - Coming to the ring first...
from Brooklyn, New York... Lorenzo Demarco! The lights dim as
"Shook Ones Part II" by Mobb Deep turns on. The
crowd begins to boo as Lorenzo Demarco slowly makes his
way onto the ramp and stands there with his head lower
and his hands to his side. He begins to bob his head to
the beat pumping himself up for the wrestling match
ahead. Ignoring the crowd and his surroundings he lifts
his head up focusing on nothing but the ring as he walks
toward it at times his lips moving to the lyrics of the
song. Bobby Shavonie -
Lorenzo Demarco, in his short time here in the OWF, has
been undefeated. He looks to keep that going tonight. Nick Burst - His
style is unlike anything we've really seen in the OWF, in
a long time, and he has taken people off guard. Bobby Shavonie -
There are no surprises tonight. Demarco and Jackrabbit
both knew this match was coming last week. Nick Burst - And
what a treat that it will open Addiction tonight! Should
be a hell of a battle. Bobby Shavonie -
I'm with you, Nick. Been looking forward to this match
all week. A few fans
foolishly try to reach out and touch him but he stays out
of reach of both sides, glancing at one or two people
slightly as they hurl an insult or a jeer at him. He
jumps up on the ring entrance and then goes through the
middle and top rope, he bounces up and down a few times
and cracks his knuckles ready for a fight. Eventually his
music fades out, and we quickly cut back outside to the
OWF Ring Announcer. Missy Janson - And his opponent... from
Parts Unknown... The Jackrabbit! The arena lights
dim, and hysterical laughter sounds through the arena. A
series of rabbits appear on the big screen, their eyes a
crimson red. "Out Of My Head" by Puddle Of Mudd
begins to play, as smoke fills the entrance-ramp and blue
strobe lights scan the arena. Onto the ramp steps The
Jackrabbit. He is wearing one of his trademark T-Shirts,
and his plaid, wrestling shorts. Nick Burst - Last
week The Jackrabbit really seemed like he was losing his
cool. Bobby Shavonie -
You would too if you were in his situation. Nick Burst - Yeah
but even a happy-go-lucky guy like The Jackrabbit didn't
lose it when Talon turned on him. I mean, he got pretty
grumpy, but last week he was willing to take on the whole
NFB. Bobby Shavonie -
And that makes him a very dangerous man come this week. Nick Burst - Hey I
agree with you, but Demarco hasn't been a slouch in his
run here. Maybe this is the wrong time for The Jackrabbit
to try to stand up for himself. Bobby Shavonie -
Then when would be the right time, Nick? The Jackrabbit
begins to walk down the ramp as the music picks up, and
he then runs and slides into the ring as blue strobe
lights scan the arena. He climbs the nearest turnbuckle,
and laughs outloud to himself, raising both arms and
wriggling the index fingers on each as the fans cheer
him. The Jackrabbit then jumps back down, and paces the
ring, looking entirely as though he has no idea where he
is as he heads to his corner; his music quickly fading
out. Standing in the
middle of the ring, OWF Official Dean Stern checks on
both men; then signals for the bell. (Ding, Ding,
Ding...) A man determined is The Jackrabbit as he
storms all the way across the ring, just wanting to get
his hands on his opponent. It looks like Lorenzo Demarco
is in a daze as he barely moves, until the last second as
he dips his head between the top and middle ropes; which
brings Dean Stern in to back Jackrabbit off. Wanting to
stay within the rules The Jackrabbit backs off to the
middle of the ring and tries to regroup as Demarco
straightens up his body, and exits his corner with his
hands up over his face getting into a fighting position.
With no cares, it seems, The Jackrabbit heads in again
but Demarco once again dips through the ropes; bringing a
huge chorus of boo's in his direction as the referee
again has to restrain Jackrabbit, pushing him back to the
middle of the ring forcing a clean break. Back to square
one it looks like Demarco is really prepared to get this
match started as he claps his hands together, and starts
around in a circular motion once more. Lorenzo feigns
taking a step forward, then hits the mat on his stomach;
rolling out of the ring to stand on the outside mocking
the fans. Bobby Shavonie - What is Lorenzo doing? Is
he scared of Jackrabbit? Nick Burst - Fuck no. He's playing with his
head. He saw Jackrabbit get heated last week, and he's
trying to further his rage. Bobby Shavonie - Why would he do that? With his back to the ring Lorenzo Demarco
originally doesn't see The Jackrabbit make his exit
through the ropes, and then rushes around one of the
corners of the ring; trying to stay away from his
opponent. Rounding the steel post Demarco dives
head-first back into the ring under the bottom rope, and
is immediately followed by The Jackrabbit who looks to
return to the ring in the same manner. The only problem
is that Lorenzo is already on his feet and lays out to
drive a double axe handle smash upon the back of
Jackrabbit's head, keeping him down on his stomach while
Demarco rises to his feet to unleash a wicked stomp to
the shoulder blades. Nick Burst - Because of that, right fucking
there! He got Jackrabbit too focused on anger, and he
made a mistake! There is no hesitation in Lorenzo Demarco's
actions as he repeatedly pummels the back of his opponent
with kicks with his right boot; from the base of his
spine, to the base of his skull. When Demarco doesn't
obey the warnings of the OWF Official Dean Stern, he
starts his manditory five count trying to back Lorenzo
off. 1, 2, 3, 4; Lorenzo holds his arms up in
the air, takes a solid step back and allows for a full
second to pass. Once it's over he moves back in and
continues kicking away at The Jackrabbit, not even giving
him a second to try to muster up some way to get off the
mat. Again Stern, who skips the warning this time, goes
back to his manditory five count. 1, 2, 3, 4; he
gets the same results as Lorenzo Demarco lifts his arms
above his head, claiming innocence as he takes a step
away from The Jackrabbit. The referee is prepared and
positions his body between Lorenzo Demarco and his
opponent, giving him no choice but to hang back as The
Jackrabbit executes a push-up and bounces right up to his
feet ready to come at Demarco. When he approaches Dean
Stern becomes an obstacle in his way, as the referee
becomes sandwiched between the two men. This allows
Demarco to reach forward and stick his right thumb
directly into The Jackrabbit's left eye socket, causing
him to spin around while bringing the palm of his left
hand up over his face in pain. Shoving the official aside
Demarco grabs onto The Jackrabbit, securing him in a
suplex hold that he transitions in preparation for a
fishermans suplex by hooking the inside left leg of his
opponent with his right hand. Using all of the strength
in his body Demarco hits the fishermans suplex, and
bridges his back to pin Jackrabbit's shoulders to the
mat; bringing the referee in to make the count. 1...
2... Jackrabbit kicks out, not so much damaged by
the move but slow to sit up in shock. Knowing he has
gained a slight advantage Lorenzo Demarco makes his way
to a standing position directly behind the seated
Jackrabbit, and brings the point of his right elbow down
upon the crown of his head with a downward elbow strike.
He follows it with a second downward elbow strike, this
with with his left elbow and Jackrabbit yells out in
pain. When he does so Lorenzo reaches over Jackrabbit's
head and sends his fingers into his opponent's mouth;
curling his fingers and yanking back on the upper jaw of
The Jackrabbit. The referee immediately admonishes
Demarco so he lets go of the vicious move only to grab
onto JR's nose, and pull it backwards; which sends Dean
Stern into a rage, ready to start his manditory count up
for the third time in this match. Just as he is ready to
do so Demarco lets go of the hold, briefly gives
Jackrabbit a break; then digs his fingertips into
Jackrabbit's closed eyes as hard as he can. This eye
gouge from behind is enough to get Dean Stern physically
involved as he pulls at Lorenzo Demarco's arms, trying to
get him away from Jackrabbit. It works and Stern's face
is turning red in anger, trying to get Demarco to listen
to him; but Lorenzo just smiles and looks to push him out
of the way. When the path is clear, an enraged Jackrabbit
rushes at Demarco; tackling him down to his back with a
double-leg take down that sends the fans jumping out of
their seats in excitement. Mounting Lorenzo, The
Jackrabbit goes to work peppering him with rights and
lefts to the face that all find their mark at first.
Eventually Demarco realizes what is going on and coils
his arms over his head, deflecting some of the shots to
the side; but a few slip through the cracks, doing a good
bit of damage to Lorenzo. Sensing a bit of an advantage
The Jackrabbit willingly stands up off of his opponent,
uses both hands to cradle the back of his head, and
stands him straight up onto his feet to join him. Locking
Lorenzo Demarco's head with his right arm, The Jackrabbit
reaches down and lifts his opponent straight into the air
only to fall back, executing a huge impact DDT that
spikes Demarco's forehead right into the mat; and like a
lightning bolt, JR rolls Demarco onto his back bringing
in the referee as it seems like he wants to go for a pin.
He aborts that plan, or never had it in his mind, as he
rushes to the nearest corner and grabs onto the top ring
cable. Springboarding to a perch on the top rope, looking
out into the crowd, Jackrabbit backflips off the corner
and sends his body flying towards Demarco; landing on top
of him with a beautiful top rope moonsault, which JR
calls the Laughing Matter. Again OWF Official Dean Stern
moves inward expecting that a pinfall is coming, but
Jackrabbit rolls up to the balls of his feet and leaves
Lorenzo Demarco behind once more as he goes right back to
the same corner he just vaulted off of. Dipping his body
under the top rope The Jackrabbit chooses to get to the
top turnbuckle by climbing from the outside, and when he
gets to the top rope he stands up tall; just waiting for
his opponent to stand up. Under his own power, having a
bit of a hard time catching his breath, Lorenzo finally
stands up and staggers around to square his shoulders to
the corner The Jackrabbit is atop of. It's a good thing
he did as JR comes flying off the top, his feet extended
towards Demarco's face, looking for a missle dropkick.
With the greatest of ease Lorenzo side-steps the attack,
allowing gravity to send Jackrabbit slamming down to the
mat empty handed on his assault; but he wants to make JR
pay. Stepping in he grabs Jackrabbit around the waist,
lifting him to his feet where he secures his opponent in
a reverse waist lock; only to pop his hips and toss him
over his head with a release german suplex. The
Jackrabbit lands on the back of his head and rolls over
onto his stomach, his momentum completely cut off, while
Lorenzo Demarco knows he has earned himself a few seconds
of relaxation. Bobby Shavonie - Costly error there by The
Jackrabbit! Nick Burst - No shit, Bobby. I'm not saying
he would have gotten a win after that moonsault but he
got greedy going back up to the top as soon as he got an
advantage. Bobby Shavonie - Who knows, that could have
been his last chance at holding an advantage over
Demarco... Nick Burst - I doubt that. The Jackrabbit
is a fucking phenomenal wrestler. He'll find a way to get
back into this, and hopefully use what just happened as a
learning experience. Staying down on his back Lorenzo Demarco
smiles a bit, taking in his surroundings fully capable of
moving; but choosing not to. Rolling onto his right hip
Lorenzo sets his eyes upon his opponent who has made his
way to the nearest bottom ring rope he could find,
holding onto it while trying to grab at the second ring
cable above it. Even with the way this match has played
out, and the recent damage he has taken, The Jackrabbit
is not allowing himself to stay down and this amazes
Lorenzo Demarco. Not in a way that sets him back, but in
a way that motivates him to get up to his feet as quickly
as possible. When he does so he approaches The Jackrabbit
just as he gets up to his knees, and Lorenzo Demarco
helps JR all the way back to his feet; just to bring a
rising knee strike across this throat. Grabbing him
around the head and preparing him for a bulldog with this
side headlock, Demarco steps forward ready to sit out
when he is shoved away from The Jackrabbit; crashing into
the ropes chest first, sending him in a backpedal towards
the middle of the squared circle. Expecting an attack
from behind Demarco covers up the back of his head with
both arms, restricting his peripheral vision which would
have caught The Jackrabbit charging past him, and jumping
up to the middle rope. Springboarding off of it The
Jackrabbit nails his opponent with a dropkick to the face
with enough force to drop Lorenzo down to a seated
position. As soon as Jackrabbit gets back up to his feet
he runs forward, and connects with a shining wizard knee
strike to the face of Demarco; and immediately pounces on
him, raining down repeated right hands from behind his
ear with the intent of doing damage. Demarco cannot cover
up this time as he is too dazed by the prior offense of
his opponent, and the only thing that stops The
Jackrabbit is the referee stepping in and grabbing him by
that right arm. OWF Official Dean Stern has let this
match get too out of control so he no longer resorts to
the manditory five count, as he gets physical enough that
The Jackrabbit stands up and shoves Stern down to his
rear. The uncharacteristic move from The Jackrabbit isn't
well received by the fans and when he jumps back on
Lorenzo Demarco, trying to violently pummel him again the
referee stands himself up and seems to be thinking about
disqualifying Jackrabbit. Instead, he goes back to the
five count knowing it to be the only legit way to end
this match; or to get JR back on track. 1, 2, 3, 4;
right before the five count, The Jackrabbit grabs Demarco
around the head and begins leading him up to his feet. As
soon as Lorenzo Demarco is standing The Jackrabbit hits
him with a closed fist to the left side of his face,
followed by a left to the right side of Lorenzo's face.
Twirling his fingers in the air and spinning his body
around The Jackrabbit has turned his move called Slap
Happy, into Knuckles Happy it seems, as he rears back and
throws a right haymaker straight into Demarco's mouth.
The shot is so powerful that Demarco is backed up on the
heels of his boots, instead of falling down to his back,
conscious enough to check his lips for blood; but unaware
of the fact that his opponent is darting right for him
until the last second. All Lorenzo can do is dip his chin
to his chest and thrust the crown of his head forward,
and it makes contact with the bridge of The Jackrabbit's
nose; sending a stream of blood out of his right nostril
as he covers his face in pain. Even off the offensive
move Demarco backpedals all the way into the nearest
corner, resting himself up; while watching his opponent,
who although banged up a bit, still doesn't want to give
up the control of this match. Building up a head of steam
JR rushes to the corner that Demarco is propped up in,
only to be met with a toe kick to the gut and to have his
head wrapped up in a front face lock from Demarco's left
arm. Falling backwards Lorenzo Demarco hits a DDT that
spikes The Jackrabbit's head into the middle turnbuckle
pad, called the Low End Theory, an unorthodox move that
causes a whiplash effect to his back as both men fall
down to the mat. The adrenaline that Jackrabbit had built
up is all gone now as he rolls around in pain in the
corner, being left behind by Demarco who reaches up and
uses the ropes to stand himself up. A majority of the
fans are standing on their feet without vocally reaction
aside from a gasp here, and an applause every so often;
really drawn in by what they are seeing inside of that
ring. Once back to his feet, Lorenzo Demarco
gains his second wind and starts putting the boots to his
opponent; hoping to avoid any sort of further attack from
Jackrabbit as long as this match goes on. He hits his
third, and his fourth, with every one of them growing in
strength but the referee can do nothing about it; that is
until JR grabs onto the bottom rope. Dean Stern moves in
to do his duties but by the time he does, Jackrabbit has
already pulled himself outside of the ropes to lay on the
edge of the ring apron. This doesn't stop Demarco from
sending his boots through the middle and bottom ropes,
still kicking at Jackrabbit's ribcage until the referee
starts to warn him to back off. Playing innocent, as if
he hadn't been a thorn in Dean Stern's side all match,
Demarco holds up his arms and pleads his case with the
referee; repeatedly trying to get the last word as he
backs himself towards the center of the ring. Bobby Shavonie - Lorenzo Demarco is not a
man you want to try to throw strikes with. Nick Burst - Absolutely not. The Jackrabbit
got a little carried away and was able to take control of
his opponent, but Demarco is a strong motherfucker. Bobby Shavonie - We've learned that much
about him since he has been in the OWF, and now The
Jackrabbit knows too. Nick Burst - Yeah, but is it too late for
him? Look at him, he can barely stand himself up under
his own power! Knowing that he has been brushed aside
before Dean Stern steps out of Demarco's way to save his
own hide, and Lorenzo sprints towards The Jackrabbit who
is just now getting up to a knee on the edge of the ring
apron outside of the ropes. The one thing he has going
for him is that he sees his opponent coming and manages
to dive under the top rope, but above the middle one, and
spear Demarco down to his back; abruptly cutting him off,
and giving the crowd a reason to cheer. Nick Burst - WHOA! Powered by instincts alone, The Jackrabbit
takes his time to stand back up under his own power; and
when he does he makes a throat cutting gesture as he
reaches down towards his opponent. Lorenzo Demarco is too
busy trying to catch his breath to offer up any
resistance to being assisted back to his feet, but the
moment he gets into that position he finds Jackrabbit's
head stuck between his legs. Fearing what is coming next
he brings two clubbing right forearms down upon his back
with such power that all The Jackrabbit can do is drop
down to his knees, allowing Lorenzo to charge him looking
for the Paid in Full running knee strike. Somehow,
someway, JR counters that by sticking his head between
the thighs of Demarco and absorbing the knee to his left
shoulder instead of his head; still causing him some
pain, as shown when he lifts Lorenzo up over his back and
holds him upside down with his opponent's belly to his
back. The Standing Joke, which The Jackrabbit is looking
for, is countered by Lorenzo as he frees his legs and
lets them hit the mat. It gives him the momentum to
sunset flip his opponent not into a pin attempt, but roll
him all the way over and back into a prone position.
Jackrabbit ends up on his rear and is soon accosted by
now-running Lorenzo Demarco who raises his right leg
looking for Paid in Full, again, but this time the leg is
caught by both arms of his opponent. Rising to his feet
The Jackrabbit goes back to the well and ducks his head
between the legs of his opponent, and hoists him upside
down over his back once again readying him for The
Standing Joke. The crowd is mesmerized by the back and
forth attempts to finish this match, but are shocked as
Lorenzo somehow manages to kick his legs feverishly
enough to get back onto his feet; keeping Jackrabbit's
head tucked between his legs. Going to resort to a new
move is easy for him as he flips The Jackrabbit to a
seated position on his shoulders, and just as Demarco is
about to bring him down for a powerbomb the move is
countered into a hurricanrana by JR. He sits down on
Demarco's chest as if going for a pin, and it brings the
referee in prepared to make his count. To his amazement,
along with the crowd, The Jackrabbit stands himself up
still holding onto Lorenzo Demarco's legs as he hangs
upside down behind him. Nick Burst - Oh my god... Bobby Shavonie - No way... Dropping right now to his knees, The
Jackrabbit hits the belly to back piledriver on Demarco;
spiking his head right into the canvas. Nick Burst - The Standing Joke! They went
back and forth, but Jackrabbit finally fucking hit it! Sitting down on Demarco's chest once again,
holding one of his legs for good measure, the referee
comes in and makes the count. 1... 2... 3! Bobby Shavonie - And it's over!
Unbelievable! Missy Janson - The
winner of this match... The Jackrabbit! Bobby Shavonie -
What a show put on by these two. Nick Burst - Even
in those last few minutes. I could have shit my pants on
three different occasions! Pushing himself up
off of Lorenzo Demarco, The Jackrabbit looks enraged. His
arm is raised by the referee, but he never breaks his
line of sight off his fallen opponent; watching as
Demarco rolls out of the ring in defeat. Bobby Shavonie -
Just a taste of what they're going to do in the Christmas
Tree Match at OWF Holiday Bash! Nick Burst - You
damn right. Bobby Shavonie -
For me, there are no losers here even if Jackrabbit will
earn the contendership point with the victory. Nick Burst - I get
where you're coming from. It was a great match to start
off the show. Lorenzo Demarco is incredibly impressive,
but if The Jackrabbit approaches all of his matches like
he did this one he's going to be a major force as a
singles competitor. Bobby Shavonie -
We saw a new fire from The Jackrabbit, it was a little
more violent than we are used to. Nick Burst - And
Demarco wasn't ready for it. Hell, none of us were. Bobby Shavonie - I
just hope The Jackrabbit isn't having a mental breakdown.
He was loopy enough as he was, but adding a violent
streak like this could cause a ton of problems for not
only the roster; but himself as well. With Lorenzo
heading up the ramp, The Jackrabbit finally makes his
exit from the ring with the fans cheering him on; but he
ignores them all as he prepares to head to the stage. Nick Burst - I'll
say this... The Jackrabbit is morphing at the exact right
time. He's been in the Pool of Blood, the Altitude O
Match, Brawltopia and now the Christmas Tree match on
December 29th; so he's no stranger to these types of
matches here in the OWF. Bobby Shavonie -
That's a very good point; but another one to consider,
with this loss how will Lorenzo Demarco and the rest of
his crew in the NFB respond? Nick Burst - We'll
see at Holiday Bash, I assume.
