The Jackrabbit
VS. Joshua Wakes
In A: Singles Match
For The: N/A
On: 19 July 2013, OWF Addiction

Bobby Shavonie - I hope you're okay to call the next match... It's a pretty big one, featuring two superstars who are trying to impress in their first singles matches in the OWF.

Nick Burst - I know that. And don't forget that The Jackrabbit competed at the OWF and NLW joint-PPV Collision Course in a tag match, but as for an official show this is the first time many will be seeing of him.

Straying to the left the camera picks up OWF Ring Announcer Missy Janson, capturing the ascent to her feet.

Bobby Shavonie - Without wasting anymore time, lets pass it over to Missy so she can get her introductions underway!

Barely a second passes before Missy makes it known that she intends to speak, taking control of the crowd with her words.

Missy Janson - The next bout is scheduled for a one-fall, with no time limit...

She pauses, allowing the translation of her words to hit the ears of the fans.

Missy Janson - Out first... from Tampa Bay, Florida... Making his debut in the OWF... Joshua Wakes!

The lights in the arena black out and a green-tinted hologram of a rotating clown's head appears hovering over the middle of the ring. After about ten seconds, the hologram shatters into pieces and "Streets of Fire" by Place Vendome hits the speakers. Joshua Wakes charges to the top of the ramp from behind the curtain.

Nick Burst - These fans in Russia never expected they'd get to see a match between these two men when they bought tickets over a month ago.

Bobby Shavonie - But that's what makes the OWF great. New talent coming in, more and more by the day, and they get a chance to prove themselves. Like Joshua Wakes here, and his opponent The Jackrabbit will.

After raising his fists to the crowd in the form of devil's horns, he sprints to the ring and slides in from under the bottom rope. The lights then come back on as he runs across the ring a couple of times, tagging the ropes in the process before the music fades out.

Missy Janson - Now introducing his opponent... also making his debut in the OWF... The Jackrabbit!

The arena lights dim, and hysterical laughter sounds through the arena. A series of rabbits appear on the big screen, their eyes a crimson red. "Out Of My Head" by Puddle Of Mudd begins to play, as smoke fills the entrance-ramp and blue strobe lights scan the arena. Onto the ramp steps The Jackrabbit. He is wearing one of his trademark T-Shirts, and his plaid, wrestling shorts.

The Jackrabbit begins to walk down the ramp as the music picks up, and he then runs and slides into the ring as blue strobe lights scan the arena. He climbs the nearest turnbuckle, and laughs outloud to himself, raising both arms and wriggling the index fingers on each as the fans cheer him.

Bobby Shavonie - I know some people know The Jackrabbit from his time in NLW, but absolutely no one seems to be aware of Joshua Wakes around these parts.

Nick Burst - Well we are about to get a good idea of both men, with this being their first match since signing with the OWF; they'll be looking to impress.

Bobby Shavonie - And with the OWF in full swing, they won't be graded on a curve. Tonight is make or break.

Nick Burst - Neither has to win, they both simply have to put on a good effort. But winning is an added bonus, guaranteed to get more eyes on them.

The Jackrabbit then jumps back down, and paces the ring, looking entirely as though he has no idea where he is. His music fades out, leaving the referee for this match in the middle of the ring ready to direct traffic.

Bobby Shavonie - And here we go!

The OWF Official calls for the bell.

VS

THE JACKRABBIT
JOSHUA WAKES

(Ding, Ding, Ding...)

A silented crowd watches Joshua Wakes run across the ring, throwing his one-hundred and sixty two pound frame into the air at his opponent. He lands a cross body block that staggers The Jackrabbit back into his corner, where Wakes takes firm control with rapid strikes with his balled up hands. Rights and lefts find their mark upon The Jackrabbit's abdomen keeping him pinned in the corner, just about to bring the referee in to break it up. Before he can The Jackrabbit shoves Joshua Wakes backwards on his keeps and when he approaches, Jackrabbit executes an overhead belly to belly suplex; delivering the back of his opponent into the turnbuckle pads, and allowing him to crumble down on top of his head. The move gets the crowd into the match, some of them even standing up to show their appreciation.

Nick Burst - I like this Jackrabbit guy!

Bobby Shavonie - All it took was one move, and the fans bought into both Jackrabbit and Wakes!

The Jackrabbit gets up to his feet and quick approaches his fallen opponent, anticipating no resistance as he closes the distance between the two men. He is wrong as he is grabbed around his waistline and yanked forward by Joshua Wakes thus dumping Jackrabbit through the ropes and to the concrete floor. Thrown off his game a bit Jackrabbit has to compose himself and bring himself to his feet in a quick motion, sliding head-first back into the ring but receiving a stomp across the back for his efforts from a now-standing Wakes. Trying to push his body upright proves to be a difficult task with Joshua Wakes stands over him, kicking him every time The Jackrabbit makes any progress. Flattened out on his chest Jackrabbit uses the palms of his hands to starkly roll to his left, garnering a bit of room to avoid the feet of his opponent as he returns to his feet. Stepping forward towards the middle of the ring results in a sharp toe kick to the abdomen from Joshua Wakes, who follows it up with a tight side headlock. Countering the move almost immediately The Jackrabbit sends Wakes backflipping over his shoulder, but somehow his opponent manages to land on his feet although a little unstable on his feet; giving The Jackrabbit plenty of time to turn himself around. By the time he does so he sees Joshua kick his right leg up, and won't be played for a fool again; catching it with both hands, forcing Wakes to balance on his left foot alone. Pulling his opponent into his chest The Jackrabbit sets Joshua Wakes up for a leg capture suplex, but before he can execute it he is stifiled with a downward striking elbow to the crux of his neck and right shoulder. Taken off balance he is forced to abandon the suplex hold he had applied, turning his back to Wakes in the process. A beautiful dropkick from Joshua sends The Jackrabbit chest-first against the ring ropes, remaining on his feet stuck in a backwards stagger on his heels. He wanders into the clutches of a now risen Joshua Wakes, setting in a reverse waistlock that he turns into an O'Connor roll trying to pin The Jackrabbit's shoulders to the mat. Before the OWF Official Dean Stern can even drop to the mat to get into place to make the count The Jackrabbit has rolled his body out of the hold and has set his mind on the task of getting off the mat as quick as possible. The two competitors meet face to face and head right back at it, with Wakes ducking under a forearm strike thrown forward by his opponent. Going back to the well he tries for another reverse waist lock, but has his arms grabbed at the wrist so that The Jackrabbit can pull Wakes' hands apart to free himself. Stepping forward a full foot The Jackrabbit thrusts his body into a backflip, nailing a Pele kick to the crown of his opponent's head knocking him down to a seat upon his rear. Collapsing onto his stomach The Jackrabbit shakes off the impact and keeps himself ahead of his opponent, pushing himself back to his feet within seconds. Taking advantage of the positioning between the two men The Jackrabbit bounds forward, turning his body so that his back hits the ropes to build up momentum as he propels himself forward in a charge towards a prone Joshua Wakes. Kicking his right shin towards Joshua's face results in a miss as Wakes drops to his back and reaches up between his opponent's legs, rolling The Jackrabbit up with a school boy pin. Aware of Wakes' gameplan The Jackrabbit somersaults out of it and onto his feet, ending up in front of his kneeling adversary where he delivers his shin across his chest.

From there he grabs Wakes by his hair and lifts him up, tucking his head between his legs; then butterflies both of his arms behind his back. In the blink of an eye The Jackrabbit swings his opponent to a seat on his shoulders, only to drive him straight down onto his back with a sitout tiger driver that he converts into a pin. Dean Stern, the referee for this match, is quick to check Joshua Wakes' shoulders before starting his count. 1... 2... Wakes is able kick out, but The Jackrabbit is hardly deterred from what he has planned next.

Nick Burst - This Jackrabbit guy is someone I could get behind. Anyone who brings that kind of intensity to their first match, are usually worth keeping an eye on.

Bobby Shavonie - And on the other hand, Joshua Wakes hasn't shown much here for us to get a good gauge of what he's all about.

Nick Burst - Credit his opponent, who is set on keeping the advantage in this match.

Moving up to his knees The Jackrabbit is sure to grab Joshua Wakes by both sides of his head, beginning the process of leading him up to his feet. He encounters some resistance in the form of short weak fists to his stomach, but it doesn't prevent him from bringing Wakes back to his feet; in fact, it serves to enrage him enough to lay a slap across Joshua's face. It staggers him back allowing The Jackrabbit to hit a second slap, then he breaks off into a little jig; raising his arms and waiving his index fingers, before leveling Joshua with a third slap that sends him down to his rear. Eating up everything The Jackrabbit is putting out there it is obvious that the crowd is favoring him in this contest, and it seems to be adding to his demeanor. Confidently he turns around and heads to the ropes, exiting through them to get onto the edge of the ring apron. Once there he heads to the nearest corner and begins climbing the ropes from the outside, eventually perching himself on the top rope by the time Joshua Wakes returns to his feet. Taking flight The Jackrabbit leads with both feet and drives both of his feet straight into the chest of his opponent, sending him flipping over onto his stomach with the pinpoint missle dropkick. A little shaken off the impact he absorbs from flying off the top rope The Jackrabbit takes a second while laying on his side to acknowledge the laid out position of Joshua Wakes before focusing on his own plight to return to an upright stance.

By the time he does The Jackrabbit realizes that Joshua Wakes is in way worse shape than even he imagined, and he approaches his opponent's head. Scooping him up around the base of his skull it takes a lot of effort for The Jackrabbit to return his opponent to his feet, but about ten seconds later it happens. The crowd cheers loudly with The Jackrabbit finally picking Wakes up to meet him face-to-face. Oddly enough his first offensive move is to tuck his own head between Joshua's legs; hoisting him upside down on his back, keeping the legs of his opponent over his shoulders, as if setting up for an Alabama slam. Instead The Jackrabbit drops to his knees, piledriving the head of Joshua Wakes straight into the mat.

Nick Burst - I've never seen a move like that!

Bobby Shavonie - On the call sheet, it says he calls it The Last Laugh!

Nick Burst - Rightfully so.

Knowing his opponent is down for the count doesn't prevent The Jackrabbit from taking this pin attempt seriously, hooking both of Joshua Wakes' legs as he lays his back across his chest. The referee slides in upon his stomach to make the count. 1... 2... 3!

Missy Janson - The winner of this match... THE JACKRABBIT!

Bobby Shavonie - WOW!

Nick Burst - What an outing by The Jackrabbit!

Jumping up to his feet The Jackrabbit actually approaches the referee, asking to have his hand raised with a wide smile on his face. The fans applaud his victory very loudly.

Bobby Shavonie - That was as close to domination as you're going to get. The Jackrabbit had to work out some kinks, but he wins his first match in the OWF with relative ease.

Nick Burst - Agreed.

Bobby Shavonie - A big night for newcomers so far. Doc Holloway defeated Big J, and The Jackrabbit wins in his match against Joshua Wakes.

Leaving Wakes behind The Jackrabbit exits the ring, looking to head up the ramp towards the back.
