Lifting the
microphone up to her mouth, Missy speaks loudly into the
head of it. Missy Janson - Up
next, the match we have is scheduled for a one-fall, with
no time limit... And it is a Steel Chain Match! Jumping up to
their feet the crowd yells out, showing their
anticipation of this bout; forcing the Ring Announcer to
stop herself from proceeding on. When they don't calm
down quick enough, Missy speaks over them. Missy Janson -
Both superstars will be attached at their left wrists by
a ten foot steel chain. There are no disqualifications,
or count-outs. Finally the crowd
here in Austin, Texas calms down to a simmer; allowing
Missy Janson to move on with proper introductions. Missy Janson -
Entering first... from Parts Unknown... EJ Slayer! "Shout at the
Devil" by Motley Crue begins to play as the lights
dim in the area. As the music starts to pick up letters
begin to appear on the Jumbotron until finally
"Slayer" is spelled out at the same time the
lyrics of the song kick in. EJ Slayer steps out onto the
entrance ramp at this point, making his way to the ring
while ignoring the boos of the fans. Nick Burst - I'll
start it off. EJ Slayer had a terrible show the last time
we saw him. He lost to El Tocino Azul and then was toyed
with by The Jackrabbit. Bobby Shavonie -
Ugh, Nick. We don't need to hear this rhetoric over, and
over and o-- Nick Burst - No
wait, hear me out. All of that shit happened, and he was
eliminated from the Quest For The Best tournament. He has
nothing else to lose tonight, and I think that makes him
a major fucking threat. Bobby Shavonie - I
see... But what if he isn't healthy? What if he never
really healed up after that concussion he suffered at the
hands of Eva De La Cruz? Being in a Steel Chain match
where he and The Jackrabbit will be attached at the wrist
by a steel chain doesn't seem to help him in that
department. Nick Burst - I've
said it once, I've said it twice and I'll keep on saying
it; EJ Slayer has been cleared by the OWF Medical Staff.
There's no fucking way they'd allow him to come out here
with any signs of a concussion. We'd be out of a job if
he died in our ring. Bobby Shavonie -
Nick... STEEL CHAIN! I once got my finger stuck in one
and I cried for two hours. It could easily kill a man! Nick Burst -
Possibly, but hopefully neither man has to go THAT far
tonight. By the way, I told you that you'd start bitching
about this match before it got started. Bobby Shavonie -
I'm not bit- complaining about this match, I'm
complaining about the stipulations that you and your
thirty-three percent shareholders voted on! Slayer dives into
the ring and gets up to his feet, moving to his corner as
his music fades out. The cameras cut back to Missy
Janson, who has remained on her feet next to the time
keepers table. Missy Janson - And
his opponent... from Parts Unknown... The Jackrabbit! The arena lights
dim and the sound of metal chains scraping a concrete
floor can be heard across the sound system. They are
broken up by a shrill laughter around the arena and the
crowd explodes into cheers. As smoke fills the
entrance-ramp area, "Out Of My Head" by Puddle
of Mudd kicks in and the Jackrabbit appears at the top of
the ramp. "What
is wrong with all my friends Steel chains drape
across his shoulders and behind him on the ground as the
Jackrabbit slowly makes his way to the ring. Nick Burst - Well,
The Jackrabbit sure has changed a lot lately. Can't say I
blame him either, he's had a dark path here in the OWF. Bobby Shavonie -
Nothing darker than what he did to EJ Slayer on
Addiction, which I'm sure swayed the vote for this to be
a Steel Chain Match. Nick Burst - Wait,
wait. You do realize the three choices all involved Steel
Chains, right? So no matter what, chains were going to be
involved? Bobby Shavonie -
That fact was lost upon me until now. I apologize. Nick Burst -
Apology accepted. As far as what happened with The
Jackrabbit and EJ Slayer on the last show, you're right;
we haven't seen that side of The Jackrabbit here in the
OWF. But this is a guy who has been fucked with on every
level since he started here. Even his only allie, Doc
Holloway, was forced to be one when they won the Pool of
Blood Match back in August of 2013. Bobby Shavonie -
Wow. It's been that long since Jackrabbit has been
around? That's so crazy. Nick Burst - Yeah,
so that being said I can't blame the guy for taking
another path to get things done. Tonight is his one
chance to get back at Slayer for everything he has done
to him, and he's going to live it up. Bobby Shavonie - I
miss the days when The Jackrabbit was a happy guy... Nick Burst - I'm
sure he does, too. Climbing under the
bottom rope, he suddenly sprints to the turnbuckle and
climbs it, staring out over the audience with a stony
look on his face and his chains clutched to his chest. "No
one's ever listening The Jackrabbit
suddenly breaks into a manic smile before stamping back
to the middle of the ring. The referee tries to coerce
the chains from him, but he pulls back on them, giving
the referee a wild-eyed look before finally relinquishing
them with a shrill laugh. The lights come back up as the
Jackrabbit takes his place in the corner, as his music
fades and the OWF Official discards of the chains to the
outside. OWF Referee Calvin
Mills walks over to the side of the ring where the time
keepers table is situated, and grabs a steel chain of his
own; which on both ends has a handcuff locked up onto the
final link in the chain. Moving to The Jackrabbit first,
Mills locks the handcuff over his left wrist and ensures
he is ready to go. As soon as the referee turns around he
is passed by a charging EJ Slayer, who hits a high boot
to The Jackrabbit's face; catching him completely off
guard and laying him out flat to his back. Bobby Shavonie -
What the..? Nick Burst - That
bastard! EJ Slayer pounces
on The Jackrabbit, delivering closed fists to his face as
his opponent lays on his back; with the match officially
not even starting since EJ Slayer isn't attached to the
ten foot steel chain. Taking possession of the chain
Slayer gives some slack to it, then uses it to choke The
Jackrabbit across his throat as the referee tries to pull
him away. It doesn't work and The Jackrabbit is in a bad
spot as the fans boo as loud as they can, when finally
Slayer lets go and backs away; being admonished by Mills,
who orders him to put the handcuff upon his wrist. He
piefaces the referee and moves forward, taking hold of
the steel chain once more just as The Jackrabbit rolls
over onto his stomach; and EJ whips him across the back
with it, leaving an immediate welt in the shape of the
chain links in a line across Jackrabbit's back. Nick Burst - So
this is just going to go on? Calvin Mills is going to let
this happen? Bobby Shavonie -
Maybe you should bring it up at one of your shareholder
meetings... Nick Burst - I
sensed sarcasm there. This is not the time for it. Grabbing onto the
steel chain Calvin Mills tugs it out of Slayer's hands
and grabs the handcuff; trying to forcibly get him
attached to his opponent, but EJ reacts poorly to this
and decks the referee with a short right forearm to the
face. Bobby Shavonie -
Oh no... Nick Burst - What
the fuck was that for?! Defend The Movement now, Bobby.
Defend President Chase Johnson doing NOTHING to stop
them! ....... Yeah, that's exactly what I fucking
thought! The crowd is all
on their feet as EJ Slayer stands over the fallen
referee, then turns his attention back to The Jackrabbit
who has gotten up to all fours. Reaching down Slayer
takes hold of the steel chain at about its midway point,
and tugs it hard so that his opponent is laid back down
upon his stomach. Coming in EJ locks Jackrabbit in a
crippler crossface submission hold; and wraps the steel
chain across Jackrabbit's face to assist in the
submission; which doesn't matter in any fashion as the
match hasn't officially started, and the OWF Official
Calvin Mills is out cold on his back. This move is just
meant to cause pain to The Jackrabbit and it works as he
reaches out with both hands, trying to pull the chain off
from across his face as he starts to leak blood from both
nostrils due to the pressure of the steel upon the bridge
of his nose. Having kept the hold applied for maybe ten,
or fifteen seconds, EJ Slayer stands up and removes the
chain from around his opponent's head; lowering it down
to Jackrabbit's neck instead. The eleven-thousand six
hundred and forty fans who are on their feet are mostly
silent in disbelief at what they are seeing, and even the
commentary team doesn't know how to react to what has
transpired. They all watch, like the viewers at home do,
as EJ tugs The Jackrabbit all the way back up to a
standing position with an assist from the chain. A few
feet away Calvin Mills rolls over onto his stomach trying
to get a grasp of his surroundings just as Slayer grabs
Jackrabbit in a sleeper hold; with the steel chain still
wrapped around his throat. The move alone is enough to
bring The Jackrabbit down to his rear, but the chain just
makes it much faster as he starts to lose consciousness.
Fighting as hard as he can The Jackrabbit flails his arms
looking for any way out of this hold, and his only option
is to reach up with both arms; and interlock his hands
behind EJ's head. Pushing himself upwards as best as he
can, JR then drops to his knees and flips Slayer over
with a snapmare takedown then immediately removes the
chain from around his neck as he gets up to his knees.
Suffering very little from that move EJ Slayer bounds up
to his feet and rushes in at The Jackrabbit, hoping to
take him off guard. Instead Jackrabbit uses his position
to his advantage and flattens EJ down to his stomach with
a drop toe hold; which he follows up by standing to his
feet with no regard for the chain as he takes off to the
ropes. Careful as to not trip himself up The Jackrabbit
comes in and lays out for a low dropkick to the face of
Slayer; and as he hits the mat, JR searches for the
handcuff that is meant to be attached to his opponent's
left wrist. For a second Jackrabbit looks at the referee
who has made his way to the corner, and is using the
ropes to get himself upright, then quickly turns his
attention back down to finding the end of the steel
chain. By the time he does he is grabbed from behind by a
kneeling EJ Slayer into a reverse waist lock; tugging
Jackrabbit up to his feet, as he holds the handcuff in
his possession. Isolating EJ's left arm he tries to lock
it on his wrist but Slayer abandons the reverse waist
lock in favor of a sharp elbow to the base of
Jackrabbit's skull, just as OWF Referee Calvin Mills
stands up to his feet. He moves in
quickly to get a hold of EJ Slayer and pushes him,
drawing a pop from the crowd as he yells in EJ's face;
warning him about throwing this match out. Slayer turns
his attention away from his opponent which is a huge
mistake as Jackrabbit gets a second wind and without even
glancing over his shoulder jumps up to the middle rope;
springing off of it with a perfect moonsault attempt.
Only problem is that it wipes out not only EJ Slayer, but
Calvin Mills as well; by complete accident. Bobby Shavonie -
Mills is down again! Nick Burst - Oh
christ... I know Jackrabbit didn't mean to, but, I think
we're going to see some fines for this... whatever it
is... Bobby Shavonie -
The match hasn't even started. Is it going to ever start? Nick Burst - It
will when EJ Slayer gets hooked up to that handcuff, but
he's avoiding it at all costs. I think Calvin Mills just
allowed these guys too much freedom, and he has paid for
it. Bobby Shavonie -
He is scheduled to call this match, and one more tonight.
Do you think he'll be able to? Nick Burst - If
not get Dean Stern out here. And then pray to god he
doesn't get hurt, or else you're going to have Sparky
Smith and "Interviewer One" making the calls
for the rest of the night. The crowd gets
hyped up upon the high stakes move that leaves
Jackrabbit, Slayer and the referee Mills down in the
middle of the ring. The first to stir is The Jackrabbit
who grabs onto his left wrist as he sits up, and begins
to pull upon the steel chain hoping to find the end of
it. By the time he does he looks over his shoulder to see
EJ Slayer crawling to the ropes on his hands and knees,
obviously a bit worse for wear than he is. Clutching the
handcuff tight The Jackrabbit passes by the fallen
referee, who is making attempts to get to his feet with
little success, staggering upon his feet behind EJ who
grabs onto the top rope with both hands. The two stand
upright at about the same time and Jackrabbit comes in
harshly, trying to latch the handcuff onto Slayer's left
hand; but EJ, being as cunning as he is, pulls the
handcuff over the top rope. Holding onto JR's end of the
chain he latches the handcuff through one of the
chainlinks nearest to Jackrabbit's left wrist, while
locking it around the top ring cable. So now, at this
point, there is ten feet of slack in the chain while The
Jackrabbit is handcuffed to the top rope by his left
hand; allowed access to one side of the ring, with only
his right arm free. Wasting no time EJ Slayer comes in
and tosses his opponent over the top rope, causing The
Jackrabbit to dangle above the concrete floor held up by
his left arm alone. The pain caused by this is obvious as
Jackrabbit yells out with his arm put at a terrible
angle. He desperately climbs up to get his knees on the
edge of the ring apron but the damage done to his left
arm, as The Jackrabbit remains there only to be joined by
EJ Slayer a second later. Securing his stance on the
apron's edge EJ Slayer comes in and stands JR up, then
nails him with a right haymaker to the face that nearly
causes him to fall backwards. Thankfully, with his left
wrist handcuffed to the top rope, he can keep his balance
with his left hand and stay on his feet. Out of nowhere
OWF Referee Calvin Mills comes back into the picture, and
pulls a key from his pocket that unlocks The Jackrabbit
from the top rope. It's imposible for him to latch it
onto Slayer who keeps himself moving, kicking Jackrabbit
high upon his chest sending him back a few steps.
Reaching down EJ takes the slack of the chain and uses it
to tug his opponent towards him but The Jackrabbit gets
his left elbow up; catching Slayer right in his face as
the two meet. There's hesitation by both men until The
Jackrabbit gets back into the ring, grabbing onto Slayer
over the top rope and setting him into a suplex hold. As
soon as he tries to lift him JR realizes Slayer is just
one step ahead of him and uses his strength to pick
Jackrabbit right back over the top rope, laying him back
on his feet on the edge of the ring apron. A second later
EJ Slayer performs a snap suplex that flips his opponent
over and flush onto the unproctected edge of the apron;
keeping both men laying there as the crowd continues to
watch this go on and on with no start to the match in
sight as Slayer rolls his body under the bottom ropes.
Now back inside of the ring Slayer and Calvin Mills share
some words but there's not much that can be done
officially by Mills, so he lets EJ go on as he walks to
check on The Jackrabbit. Pulling himself
back into the ring as well it's not long before The
Jackrabbit has his head grabbed onto by EJ Slayer, who
looks to continue the assault by latching onto him with a
front face lock. The steel chain dangles on the mat and
it doesn't stop Slayer from proceeding with another
suplex hold, which he uses to lift his opponent up off
his feet. Only a moment later EJ Slayer drops Jackrabbit
stomach-first over the top ring cable; keeping him
balanced there half inside of the ring, and half outside
of it. Backing off to the adjacent side of the ring
Slayer builds up some speed and uses it to send a right
boot towards the side of Jackrabbit's face. Somehow he's
able to pull the leverage of his body to his legs and
gets off the top rope just in time, causing Slayer to
miss his kick while The Jackrabbit lands on both feet on
the edge of the ring apron. Off the miss a very
frustrated EJ Slayer comes in with his hands high above
his head ready for an attack, but JR knees him in the
stomach through the ropes; and snaps the handcuff vacant
upon EJ's left wrist, and the referee finally calls for
the bell. STEEL
CHAIN MATCH (Ding, Ding,
Ding...) Nick Burst - He's
finally locked in! The match has started! Get him
Jackrabbit! The fans cheer out
very loudly now that EJ Slayer has finally been attached
to the steel chain, and they get even louder when The
Jackrabbit springboards to the top rope and takes flight.
Crashing down upon EJ Slayer with a cross body splash
that wipes both men out gets the crowd on fire as JR
stands up to his feet, pumping his fists awaiting the
return of Slayer to his feet. As soon as he does The
Jackrabbit hits a running knee lift to the stomach of his
opponent, sending EJ stumbling backwards to a seat in one
of the neutral corners on the canvas. Without skipping a
beat an energized Jackrabbit runs in and hits a facewash
boot to the face of EJ, then bends down to grab onto the
middle of the steel chain; wrapping it around his right
foot. Taking only a step backwards JR rushes back in and
hits a second facewash boot; this one opening a wide cut
over Slayer's right eyebrow. The fans here in Austin,
Texas cannot get enough of it as Jackrabbit untangles his
right foot from the chain in favor of latching both of
his hands around either side of Slayer's head. Leading
him up to a doubled-over position The Jackrabbit tucks
EJ's head between his thighs, butterflies his arms behind
his back, and in the blink of an eye flips Slayer up onto
his shoulders and then straight down to his back with a
double underhook seated powerbomb. Rolling out of the
seated position, not going for the pinfall, The
Jackrabbit rises to his feet with a look upon his face we
have only gotten used to lately; with the fans fully
behind him. Bobby Shavonie -
The Jackrabbit has had enough! He's been poked and
prodded, beat down all night; and now it's his turn! Nick Burst - And
he's doing a fucking great job of it so far! Don't give
him anything 'Rabbit! Make that fucker pay! He walks a circle
around EJ Slayer as he struggles to get himself up,
trying to stay out of sight as Jackrabbit watches his
opponent get up to his knees. As soon as that is
accomplished The Jackrabbit comes in from behind to wrap
the steel chain around the throat of EJ Slayer two full
times, and uses it to stand him back to his feet. He only
remains their for a second before JR leaps into the air
and yanks backwards on the chain; hitting a double knee
backbreaker on Slayer which he can do nothing to counter.
Feeling a great deal of pain Slayer frantically tries to
unwrap the chain from his neck to get some air back into
his lungs and The Jackrabbit seems happy to let him do so
as he casually rises to his feet; walking away to pull
the steel chain completely tight. Very aware of what is
happening to him, and completely unable to stop it, EJ
Slayer gets up to his knees and turns himself towards The
Jackrabbit expecting an attack but none comes. Instead JR
allows EJ to stand up under his own power and even grants
him the right to make the next move. His idea of a bright
step into the future is to charge at The Jackrabbit with
his right arm extended away from his body, which turns
out to be a poor decision as JR wraps the steel chain
around Slayer's arm; then uses it to spin him into an
armtrapped swinging neckbreaker. With every member of the
sold-out crowd on their feet cheering every action of The
Jackrabbit you'd think he'd take a second to acknowledge
them, but he remains on task; shrugging off the pain he
feels in his body to get himself right back to his feet,
while EJ Slayer is suddenly finding his body giving up on
him. Biding his time The Jackrabbit adjusts the handcuff
around his wrist and watches every movement of his
opponent, but doesn't dare act out. Instead he remains
content in watching Slayer squirm having suffered a load
of damage in a short period of time; obviously not being
as tough as he made himself out to be, while The
Jackrabbit went through hell and is the one on his feet
right now. Again he backs off, extending the steel chain
a full ten feet, as Slayer moves up to his hands and
knees staring down at the canvas. Lifting his head up he
takes a look at where his opponent is and refuses to give
up, even though his body wants to so badly. JR continues
hanging back as EJ Slayer gets up to his feet at a very
labored pace, almost toying with EJ who just grows more
and more furious the worse this beating gets. Letting his
emotions get the best of him EJ Slayer gets up to his
wobbily legs and motions for The Jackrabbit to come to
him, actually tugging on the chain that connects the two
men to entice him. It doesn't take much to nudge JR in
that direction as he cracks the first smile he has had
all night. As The Jackrabbit comes in he gets booted
between the legs by a desperate EJ Slayer, who resorts to
a low blow to keep his chances alive. In one fluid motion
Slayer reaches forward to grab JR into a suplex hold and
plants his feet into the mat. Using the last bits of his
strength he lifts Jackrabbit up for a vertical suplex,
stalling there as he prepares for his sheer drop
brainbuster that he calls The Violent End. Kicking his
legs The Jackrabbit reverses the momentum and lands back
on his feet, able to pick Slayer up for a vertical
suplex; but dumps him off onto his right shoulder in a
front powerslam position. Right then he drops to his
knees and drives the skull of EJ Slayer upon the pile of
coiled up steel chain with a variation of The Lunatic
Fringe. Blood is leaking heavily from his head now as EJ
Slayer lays motionless on the mat, but Jackrabbit isn't
done. Bobby Shavonie -
He should have gone for the pinfall there. He had him
beat off that counter of The Violent Ending! Nick Burst - This
is about more than just a win or a loss here, Bobby.
Jackrabbit wants revenge, and he'll end it when he feels
it's time. Bobby Shavonie -
Doesn't that make him just as bad as EJ Slayer and The
Movement then, if those are his actions? Nick Burst -
Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. Now instead of
hanging back and allowing EJ time to get himself
together, The Jackrabbit reaches down and hooks his hands
under Slayer's armpits; dragging his dead weight back to
his feet, where he sets him up for a Rock Bottom. Instead
of hitting that move he spins around, lifts Slayer in the
air, and slams him down with a spinning uranage slam onto
the slack of the steel chain; causing EJ to fall
motionless right after The Jackrabbit hits The Fatemaker. Nick Burst - That
had to suck balls if you were EJ Slayer! Bobby Shavonie -
Just pin him already, Jackrabbit! This match is so over. Rising up to his
knees The Jackrabbit looks down into the face of his
opponent and then grabs the steel chain, proceeding to
wrap it around the head and face of EJ Slayer in anyway
he possibly can; while still giving himself enough chain
to move around. With about five full rotations EJ Slayer
looks like a bad comic book character with the chains
making parts of his face beet red, with blood coming out
of his wound. Grabbing onto the chains around EJ's head
The Jackrabbit puts his last bit of effort into making
sure he stands EJ Slayer up on his feet, then bends down
to stick his own head between his opponent's thighs.
Lifting Slayer up, and holding him upside down over his
back, The Jackrabbit immediately drops to his knees for
the over the back, belly-to-back, piledriver he calls The
Last Laugh. The crowd is jumping up and down on their
feet as The Jackrabbit casually lays his back over the
stomach of the fallen EJ Slayer, looking up to the
rafters as the OWF Official Calvin Mills slides in to
make the count. 1... 2... 3! Missy Janson - The
winner of this match... THE JACKRABBIT! Pulling himself
off of EJ Slayer, The Jackrabbit calls for the referee to
come in and free him from the handcuffs as the fans cheer
out in support. Nick Burst - Good
for The Jackrabbit. He deserved to bash Slayer's head in,
and I think he did just that by hitting his three
signature moves in a row on that dastardly fuck! Bobby Shavonie -
Bash his head in? What if he is seriously injured? Would
you still be happy? Nick Burst - I
meant it metaphorically; Slayer and The Movement nearly
retired Jackrabbit. He deserved a chance to get his
revenge, and he did. With that last move it looks like
the only one nearing retirement is EJ Slayer. Bobby Shavonie - I
hope Slayer isn't seriously hurt, but it looks like EMT's
will be taking him out. Calvin Mills moves
in to unwrap the chain from EJ Slayer's head, as he lays
unconscious on his back. The medical staff rushes down to
ringside with a flat board and a neckbrace, ready to tend
to him as The Jackrabbit stands up to his feet staring
down over his fallen opponent. Bobby Shavonie -
Regardless, now Jackrabbit can focus on the Second Round
of the Quest For The Best Tournament; hopefully leaving
EJ Slayer and The Movement behind him. Nick Burst - Would
you want to fuck with this guy after tonight? I sure
wouldn't. Bobby Shavonie -
What I find very telling is that nobody from The Movement
came out here to help EJ Slayer. Nick Burst - Maybe
he told them he was going to settle this on his own, or
maybe they never liked him that much. OR maybe the way
this night started rubbed them the wrong way. In the end,
they stayed out of it and because of that The Jackrabbit
got his revenge. Bobby Shavonie -
Or Talon was too beat up from the Mardi Brawls Match,
while Adam Wilson and Redemption are up next in the
Second Round of the 2014 Quest For The Best Tournament;
and wanted to protect themselves. Nick Burst -
Whatever way you slice it, they didn't come to his aid
and now he's in the process of being strapped to a gurney
at ringside. And like you said, now The Jackrabbit can
focus on his next match; which is against Plague on April
18th. Bobby Shavonie -
Do you think we'll see this dark side of The Jackrabbit
sticking around, or was this a one time deal for EJ
Slayer; and we can expect him to braid up his hair, grow
a beard and start having fun again? The Jackrabbit
makes his exit as the handcuff is removed from EJ
Slayer's left wrist, and he is moved out of the ring;
with the neck brace stabilizing the motions of his head.
Watching them wheel Slayer away along the side of the
ramp The Jackrabbit starts to feel pain again as he walks
up towards the stage; still being cheered on by the fans.
Nick Burst - I
don't know. The old Jackrabbit seemed like a bit of a
wimp, but this guy we saw tonight took a fucking beating;
and then once that bell rang he got down to business. Not
to mention just a couple of weeks ago we were speculating
if he would even have a wrestling career after behind
hung by his neck. Bobby Shavonie -
He's an incredibly talented individual. I just hope when
these crazy stipulations go away, we will get to really
cherish the talent he has. But, for now we have to leave
it at that... as it's time for a quick break to take a
look at our upcoming schedule through the end of April.
