Missy Janson -
PHILADELPHIA... It is time for your Main Event of the
Evening! Standing up to
their feet the fans know what match is coming and show
their excitement by raising their voices. Missy Janson - The
match scheduled for one-fall with no time limit... and it
is an Enclosed Steel Cage Match! Missy is cut off
due to the volume of the crowd, but she is happy to stop
herself and let them show their passion. The moment
passes and Missy is right there to pick back up with
introductions. Missy Janson -
Introducing first... from Tombstone, Arizona... Doc
Holloway! The modern, crisp
image flickers and stutters out, replaced by an aged
sepia filter. The opening clap-STOMP of "God's Gonna
Cut You Down" by Johnny Cash begins to sound, and
Doc Holloway saunters out onto the stage, his boots
falling loosely in time to the music. He pauses at the
ramp, glancing around the arena, long brown hair framing
his stoic face. Bobby Shavonie -
This man is teaming with his opponent in just nine days
from now, and he requested this barbaric match. Nick Burst - I'm
not going to question it because I only heard the guy
speak last week, and he's still new to the scene. Bobby Shavonie -
Don't you find it odd? Nick Burst - Of
course I find it fucking odd, but I'm not going to make
enemies with a guy who is willing to put his future tag
team partner through hell in an enclosed cage match. Bobby Shavonie -
Valid point. He resumes his
slow walk to the ring, muttering too low for the camera
to hear. He mounts the apron without a flourish and steps
through the ropes. "Go
and tell that long-tongued liar, Doc delicately
removes a crucifix from round his neck, heads for the
nearest turnbuckle, and dangles the cross on its chain
around the post. "Tell
'em that God's gonna cut 'em down..." He takes up that
corner and lays in wait as his music fades out. The
cameras cut back outside of the ring to Missy. Missy Janson - And
his opponent... The Jackrabbit! The arena lights
dim, and hysterical laughter sounds through the arena. A
series of rabbits appear on the big screen, their eyes a
crimson red. "Out Of My Head" by Puddle Of Mudd
begins to play, as smoke fills the entrance-ramp and blue
strobe lights scan the arena. Onto the ramp steps The
Jackrabbit. He is wearing one of his trademark T-Shirts,
and his plaid, wrestling shorts. The Jackrabbit
begins to walk down the ramp as the music picks up, and
he then runs and slides into the ring as blue strobe
lights scan the arena. He climbs the nearest turnbuckle,
and laughs outloud to himself, raising both arms and
wriggling the index fingers on each as the fans cheer
him. Nick Burst - Well
we are about to get a good idea of both men, with this
being their first match since signing with the OWF;
they'll be looking to impress. Bobby Shavonie -
And with the OWF in full swing, they won't be graded on a
curve. Tonight is make or break. Nick Burst -
Neither has to win, they both simply have to put on a
good effort. But winning is an added bonus, guaranteed to
get more eyes on them. The Jackrabbit
then jumps back down, and paces the ring, looking
entirely as though he has no idea where he is. His music
fades out, leaving the referee for this match in the
middle of the ring ready to direct traffic. Just then the
enclosed steel cage that has been hanging above the ring
all night begins to lower from the rafters. As this
happens, half-a-dozen ring technicians make their way
down to ringside; encircling the entire ring. The crowd
only gets louder as the cage comes to a stop and is
secured into place by the technicians, who give Referee
Calvin Mills the all-clear before departing. A second
later the OWF Official calls for the bell to ring, and
the match to start. VS (Ding, Ding,
Ding...) The Jackrabbit
turns around in a circle looking at the structure
encasing him and Doc Holloway, while his opponent briskly
moves into the center of the ring; demanding Jackrabbit's
attention. Doc visibily calls for The Jackrabbit to
strike him first which takes him back a bit, causing a
bit of hesitation on Jackrabbit's part. This results in
an open handed slap across the face from Doc Holloway,
who calls for his opponent and future tag team partner to
hit him. Still The Jackrabbit seems unsure, even though
his face throbs in pain, and he pauses when he gets back
into his opponent's face. Another slap is cracked against
the right side of The Jackrabbit's face and it nearly
knocks him down to his knees due to the impact. Holloway
doesn't improve on his advantage, still remaining upright
in the center of the squared circle waiting for his
opponent to straighten himself up. A second or two later
The Jackrabbit does so and steps forward, still no
intention of striking Doc and he is about to pay for it
when suddenly The Jackrabbit ducks under the right handed
slap of his opponent, and pulls himself around behind Doc
Holloway; snatching him up in an abdominal stretch. The
fans don't know what to make of this weak submission move
that The Jackrabbit applies but eventually get wind of
his intentions when he uses the move to tuck Doc's own
right arm between his legs in a pumphandle position. The
Jackrabbit lifts Doc Holloway up onto his shoulder in a
front powerslam position, then falls to his knees;
dropping Doc head-first into the mat which gets the crowd
on their feet. Bobby Shavonie -
Holloway was calling for The Jackrabbit to bring it on,
and he did so with The Standing Joke! Nick Burst - He's
going for a cover, Bobby! He wants to end this one right
now! The Jackrabbit
quickly lays his body across Doc Holloway's in a lateral
press, making sure to hook his outside leg which brings
the referee in to make the count. 1... 2... Doc
thrusts his right shoulder off of the mat, and The
Jackrabbit immediately backs away on all fours following
his failed pin attempt. Nick Burst - Close
fucking call there. Bobby Shavonie -
Yeah, but The Jackrabbit has just opened up a can of
worms with the guy he's teaming with in just nine days
from tonight. Nick Burst -
Bobby, this isn't a fucking teambuilding exercise. This
is an enclosed steel cage match, and there will be a
winner. Shaking his head
Doc Holloway gets up to his knees and makes eye contact
with The Jackrabbit and a smirk comes upon his face. He
simply stands himself up, checking his forehead for
blood, and allows his smirk to grow even wider. This time
he doesn't head for the center of the ring, instead he
moves right at his opponent and The Jackrabbit cannot
evade Doc's grasp. The two engage in a forced collar and
elbow tie up that Doc uses to push Jackrabbit backwards
against the ropes, and slams his head backwards into the
cage. A second crushing thrust of Jackrabbit's head into
the cage weakens him enough that Doc Holloway changes up
his plan, and tries irish whipping his opponent off the
ropes. Unfortunately for Holloway, The Jackrabbit has his
left arm hooked over the top rope preventing his body
from being torn away from the ropes no matter how hard
Doc tugs. To resolve this Doc drives his left shoulder
forward into the chest of The Jackrabbit and effectively
knocks the air out of his lungs, and a second later it
allows Holloway to irish whip The Jackrabbit off the
ropes. It takes every fiber in his being to remain on his
feet as he traverses across the ring, and The Jackrabbit
cannot muster up enough energy to turn himself around;
running chest-first into the ropes. His balance is
instantly thrown off as he staggers backwards right into
a reverse waist lock from his opponent, which snaps him
back to reality. Firing an elbow back into the face of
Doc is the first course of action for The Jackrabbit, the
second is bringing his hands down to the wrists of his
opponent's; which are situated right in front of his
waist. For a second Jackrabbit actually manages to pry
apart Holloway's hands but is unable to sustain it. Doc
Holloway locks his hands together again, setting The
Jackrabbit back in the reverse waist lock. Before he can
pull any offensive move off The Jackrabbit worms his left
arm down along his body and under Doc's left arm, which
still is used to keep the waist lock applied. Jackrabbit
is able to break away out of the reverse waist lock and
doubles-back to wrap his arms around Holloway's
midsection; securing his own reverse waist lock. Just
when it seems like The Jackrabbit is on the right track
Doc Holloway performs a standing switch and easily dips
around behind his opponent's back to engage him in what
else but another reverse waist lock. No longer content
with playing around Holloway pops his hips and dumps The
Jackrabbit onto the back of his head and neck with a
release german suplex, folding The Jackrabbit up like a
book. Clutching both of his forearms up around his head
Jackrabbit rolls onto his left side while his opponent
simply sits himself up and wipes his sweat drenched hair
from his face. Holloway moves off his rear and gets up on
his feet, and is quick to move towards the head of his
fallen opponent; securing his hands on either side of The
Jackrabbit's head. Just as fast as he grabbed The
Jackrabbit, Doc pulls him up to his feet and flings his
opponent face-first into one of the cage walls. Greatly
stunned Jackrabbit somehow manages to stay on his feet
and is cupped around the back of his head by Doc
Holloway, only to be once again sent into the same cage
panel. His body and face bounce off the steel and it
propels Jackrabbit into a staggering backpedal that
results in him being wrapped around the waist from both
arms of his opponent. Before he even knows it The
Jackrabbit is lifted into the air and dropped flush upon
his head and neck with a high angle back drop. Snapping
upright Doc Holloway never breaks his line of sight on
The Jackrabbit as he takes a step back, giving his
opponent time and space to return to his feet under his
own power. By his own efforts alone The Jackrabbit shows
no signs of giving up and pushes himself up to his hands
and knees as he starts the process of crawling towards
the ropes. He is stopped short when Doc sits down upon
Jackrabbit's back and interlocks his hands together
across the mouth of his opponent; pulling back in a camel
clutch position, trying to do more damage to the
afflicted parts of The Jackrabbit's anatomy. The camera
zooms in on The Jackrabbit's partially obstructed face,
his eyes seen being wide open looking for the nearest
escape route from this hold. Using the strength in his
arms and hands The Jackrabbit pushes his upper body off
the canvas and starts crawling towards the ropes. Doc
seems content to put all of his efforts into the camel
clutch and doesn't bother fighting off the attempts by
his opponent to make it to the ropes; and when The
Jackrabbit snatches a hold of the bottom rope Holloway
actually releases the submission without the prodding of
the referee. Backing off into the middle of the squared
circle Doc stands, waits and watches his opponent use the
ropes to pull himself back into a standing position. A
few seconds later Jackrabbit achieves this and
straightens his spine, still holding onto the ropes with
his back to his opponent. On wobbling legs he turns
himself around and narrowly avoids a right haymaker from
Doc Holloway, ducking under Doc's right arm and pulling
himself behind his opponent waiting for him to turn
around. The moment
Holloway does The Jackrabbit goes on the offensive,
snapping a combination of alternating left jabs and right
hands to the face of Doc. The crowd starts to get behind
the new found fight that The Jackrabbit is bringing to
his opponent and when he tries to cap it off with an
exclamation point of a swinging right elbow the fans
cheer outloud when he makes contact. Energized by the
slow turning of the tides The Jackrabbit gently heads off
the ropes as to not make contact with the cage, and
builds up speed as he heads straight back to Holloway.
Upon his return The Jackrabbit is decimated by a discus
clothesline from Doc Holloway that sends his opponent
over onto his stomach following a backflip due to the
impact on his chest. The air is sucked out of the Consol
Energy Center with that devastating move that leaves Doc
and Jackrabbit on the mat, side-by-side for a few
seconds. Nick Burst - I
know The Jackrabbit just got back from injury, but
suffering a move like that will send him right back to
the bench. Bobby Shavonie -
And just when it looked like The Jackrabbit was finally
taking control over Doc Holloway, too. Nick Burst -
Momentum is the name of the game, and Jackrabbit has been
fighting his ass off. Doc's just a step ahead of him,
though. Bobby Shavonie - I
find it so hard to believe that they'll be able to put
these differences aside in just nine days. Nick Burst - Maybe
they will, maybe they won't. One thing I know for certain
is that they won't be walking into Altitude O physically
unscathed. It's also promising that neither man has
really used the cage to their advantage. Again it is Doc
Holloway who stirs to his feet first, briefly putting his
hands on his knees to catch his breath; all while
watching every movement his future tag team partner makes
in his attempts to get off his stomach. Just as it looks
like The Jackrabbit is about to return to his feet he
ends up being the recipient of a right knee drop to the
small of his back; where it remains as Doc Holloway uses
both hands to pull his opponent's head to the sky. The
modified bow and arrow submission does what Holloway
intends it to, which is not only further damaging the
neck area of The Jackrabbit; but also keeps him down on
the mat, which seems to be a reoccurring theme. OWF
Official Calvin Mills again returns to his knees to kneel
in front of Jackrabbit, asking him if he wants to submit.
There is no quit in The Jackrabbit and waves his hands in
protest, keeping his eyes open to look for any way out of
the move. As soon as he makes his first movements along
his stomach Doc gives up the submission and stands up,
laying a stiff boot right between the shoulder blades of
Jackrabbit briefly flattening him on his stomach once
again. Getting a jump start on The Jackrabbit's return to
his feet Holloway scoops his opponent around his head and
neck, trapping him in a front face lock. Leading
Jackrabbit up to his feet Doc sets him up for a vertical
suplex and manages to lift him up into the air, with
Jackrabbit's legs just a few feet away from making
contact with the top of the cage. Rather quickly The
Jackrabbit gracefully wiggles free from the suplex and
lands back on his feet right in front of Doc. He strikes
with an open handed slap, followed by a second and then
The Jackrabbit pauses to lift his arms up and wiggle his
fingers in the air as he prepares for the third strike of
the series. Interrupted by a standing clothesline attempt
from Holloway, The Jackrabbit has to dip down and pull
himself up behind Doc; and when his opponent turns
around, Jackrabbit levels Holloway with a third open
handed slap. Having gained his second wind The Jackrabbit
stands right up to his feet, plays to the crowd a bit,
then turns his full attention down to Doc Holloway.
Grabbing him with both hands Jackrabbit applies a front
face lock and seems to be preparing for a DDT. In
actuality he is looking to hit an impact DDT as he tries
to lift the feet of Holloway off the mat. It doesn't work
and Doc frees himself pretty easily and kicks Jackrabbit
in the stomach for his efforts. Stepping to the side Doc
hoists his opponent up into a sidewalk slam position, but
falls to his left knee; bending his right, and dropping
Jackrabbit back-first across his thigh. Just as he is
about to secure a submission stretch from this position,
the adrenaline of The Jackrabbit allows him to backflip
off Doc's knee and plant his feet on the mat. He takes a
step back as Doc Holloway moves up from his knee, trying
to cut his opponent off at the pass; but ends up getting
speared to his back by Jackrabbit, bringing the crowd to
their feet. Both Doc and Jackrabbit are laid out on the
mat, neither ready to make the next move. The fans remain
on their feet, sensing the end is near for one of these
two men. First to show signs of life is The Jackrabbit as
he uses his hands and knees to get up to all fours, and
starts slowly crawling towards one side of the ring. His
opponent, Doc Holloway, takes the time to sit himself up
on his behind; keeping his head on a swivel to locate
Jackrabbit. When Holloway sees that The Jackrabbit is
already up on his knees, using the ropes for balance, he
pushes himself onward. The two men get back on there feet
within seconds of one another, and Doc rushes at The
Jackrabbit; trying to squash him against the side of the
cage. Jackrabbit moves to his left and Holloway hits the
ropes, but puts his hands up in time before his face hits
the cage. After the close call Doc Holloway slowly turns
himself around, which ends up being a big mistake as now
it is The Jackrabbit running in towards him. Connecting
with the big splash Jackrabbit is successful in smashing
the back of his opponent's head into the cage, dazing him
into a stumbling motion forward towards the center of the
ring. Following a lifting knee to Doc's gut The
Jackrabbit bends his opponent over and butterflies
Holloway's arms behind his back. With a quick pop of his
hips The Jackrabbit executes a double underhook suplex
slamming Doc's back into the middle of the squared
circle, and staying on the roll he has built up for
himself. Pushing up to his
feet once again The Jackrabbit moves out of sight of Doc
Holloway, probably marking the first time during this
bout that Holloway doesn't know where his opponent is.
Hanging back Jackrabbit watches Doc Holloway struggle to
get to his feet, and gets an idea to move in at this
point. He ducks Doc's head between his legs and
butterflies his arms behind his back, but this time
instead of going for a double underhook suplex The
Jackrabbit is setting up for a double underhook
powerbomb. He actually manages to get one of Doc's feet
off the mat but that is clearly not enough as Holloway
spins out of the move and manages to stand himself
upright; thrusting a big boot into Jackrabbit's face.
Wasting absolutely no time Doc spins around on the spot,
looking for a big discus clothesline, but The Jackrabbit
ducks away and hops onto the side of the cage, clambering
up the steel structure. Doc makes to cut off his escape,
but The Jackrabbit puts a boot in his face, and another,
forcing him back to the center of the ring. Shakily, he
looks down at his groggy opponent, then back up at the
roof of the cage. Rung by rung, he ascends. Nick Burst - Is
that maniac climbing to the roof...? Bobby Shavonie -
The Jackrabbit's putting his fear of heights aside for
the sake of this match, Nick! The Jackrabbit
climbs hand over hand across the roof of the enclosed
cage, his feet dangling down now, 10 feet above Doc's
head. Doc has regained his senses, just in time to look
up and see The Jackrabbit come crashing down on top of
him in a picture perfect Frog Splash from the top! Bobby Shavonie -
Jackrabbit laying it all on the line! Nick Burst -
That's gotta have been a 15 foot drop! Bobby Shavonie -
Go for the cover Jackrabbit, this one's over! Both men are
suffering the effects of the big move, prone on the mat,
when suddenly the lights in the arena flicker out. Bobby Shavonie -
Oh no, not this.. The lights come
back up, and "The Enigma" Talon is stood in the
centre of the ring, his arms stretched out to either
side, lead piping clenched in each first. Nick Burst - And
they thought this cage would keep this guy out. Bobby Shavonie -
Looks like they thought wrong. Nick Burst - No
shit, Sherlock. The Jackrabbit
scurries to his knees, and shuffles towards his former
ally. Talon rears back with the lead piping, preparing to
strike, but Jackrabbit suddenly lunges forward, hugging
at Talon's ankles, begging the man he called friend. The Jackrabbit -
Please Tal, please, all of the pleases! We can still be
friends, we can still be champeenos... Tal, Tal.. Talon approaches,
dropping a piece of the lead piping and grabbing The
Jackrabbit by the hair as Doc Holloway pulls himself to
his feet. The Jackrabbit -
Tal, don't do these mean things.. you're my bestest
friend, I'm your bestest friend.. we can still.. we can
still be FUSION! Talon looks like
he's considering the option for only a moment, before
swinging the lead piping for The Jackrabbit's skull! But
The Jackrabbit scuttles forward on hands and knees,
dodging the blow and making a sudden dash for safety. He
is cut off by the steel still surrounding the ring, and
instead begins to climb, ascending desperately to escape
from Talon. The Enigma grabs him by the ankle, forcing
him down to the mat, and swings his remaining piece of
lead piping. The Jackrabbit rolls again, but Talon
catches him with a solid kick in the ribs. The Jackrabbit
doubles up in pain, and drags himself into the corner
again. With no strength left, The Jackrabbit sags in the
corner, bringing his hands up to feebly ward off the
assault. The Jackrabbit -
Tal....please... you're my bestest.... Talon winds up for
a swing, lead piping rising high with the promise of
shattering The Jackrabbit's skull- When a second piece of
lead piping suddenly bars Talon's way. Doc Holloway holds
the piece of piping to Talon's chest, having approached
from behind. Now they stand side by side, their eyes
boring into each other. The OWF Official was allowing all
of this to happen, but is fed up and calls for the bell. Missy Janson -
This match has been ruled a no contest! Bobby Shavonie -
Mills is calling for the bell! Damnit! A great match
ruined by Talon! Nick Burst - Hey,
on the brightside, things are about to get even more
messy than if this match was allowed to continue. Bobby Shavonie -
How is that the brightside of Doc Holloway and The
Jackrabbit's match being thrown out? Nick Burst -
Well... I think... Oh shut up Bobby and just watch the
ring. Eyes still locked,
Talon begins to back away, as Doc angles himself between
Talon and The Jackrabbit, the lead piping still held
loose in his hand. For a long moment the two big men
stare each other down. Out of nowhere the lights flicker
once more. When they come
back on, Talon is gone. Bobby Shavonie -
How does he keep showing up and disappearing so fast? Nick Burst - Maybe
you just blackout like I do when I go back to my hotel
room after every show. Bobby Shavonie -
I'm serious. It freaks me out. After a few
seconds, Holloway turns toward The Jackrabbit, who begins
to haul himself out of the corner. For a moment The
Jackrabbit is dumbfounded, but he soon recovers, and
throws himself at Holloway, his arms open wide. Bobby Shavonie -
Is he... is he going for a hug? Holloway, his
expression unchanged, points the lead piping at The
Jackrabbit, warning him off. The Jackrabbit slowly gets
the message, and backs off. Holloway turns and walks
away, dropping the lead piping clattering to the mat. He
gestures for the cage door to be opened, and exits the
ring. Nick Burst -
Probably a little too soon for that. Bobby Shavonie -
At least they're on the same page now heading into the
their match for the OWF Tag Team Championship at Rise or
Fall, right? Nick Burst - Same
page, yes. But Eva De La Cruz and Moxie Roxie are same
page, same sentence. There are still paragraphs between
The Jackrabbit and Doc Holloway. Bobby Shavonie -
But maybe Moxie and Eva won't be that close after their
World Title Match earlier on in the Pay Per View. It's
almost certain that they'll be walking into the Altitude
O Match at a disadvantage just because they are double
booked. Doc Holloway walks
up the ramp and takes one last look back at the ring as
The Jackrabbit peeks his head through the open cage door,
about to make his exit. Holloway decides against whatever
he was thinking and continues towards the stage,
eventually disappearing backstage as The Jackrabbit
stands at ringside a little flustered. Nick Burst -
There's no telling what will happen, and that's why these
fuckers at home have to buy the Pay Per View to see what
happens. Bobby Shavonie -
Nice up-sell there, Nick. Nick Burst -
Thanks. I was a used car salesman in a past life. I was
also Benjamin Franklin, in case you didn't know. SO
YOU'RE WELCOME, YA KNOW, FOR THE ELECTRICITY HERE
TONIGHT! Bobby Shavonie -
And with Nick's absurd drunkeness, it is time to call it
a night. Thank you all for joining us, and we will see
you in just nine days for OWF Rise or Fall; LIVE on Pay
Per View from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! Say goodnight,
Nick. Nick Burst - Oh
no, Philly. That means... Uncle Bo may be there. Bobby Shavonie -
Uncle Bo? Nick Burst -
You'll see. You'll aaaaaaaall see. Bobby Shavonie -
You're drunk. Nick Burst - Yep. Bobby Shavonie -
And need a ride back to the hotel. Nick Burst - Sure
do. Bobby Shavonie -
So say goodnight, Nick. Nick Burst -
Goodnight dick! Bobby Shavonie -
Ugh. The camera fixated
on The Jackrabbit as he heads up the ramp ends up being
worthy enough to be the last shot of the evening as the
OWF logo comes onto the screen; preceding a stark and
harsh fade to black to end the transmission. |
