After the release of Juju, Siouxsie and Budgie embarked on a project, forming a group called The Creatures. The Banshees were still going strong, releasing A Kiss In the Dreamhouse in 1982.  This album pushed forward experimentally, using tape loops, strings, recorders, and dance rhythms.  The Banshees old claim that they were the 'best band in the world' seemed to have some creedence to it.

In October of 1983, they had a UK Top 3 hit with another Beatle's cover, Dear Prudence, which Robert Smith played guitar on, taking over for John McGeogh.  By the mid 1980s, the Banshees music turned more towards goth.  After their 1987 album Through the Looking Glass, they took a long break.

When they returned from hiatus they brought in Martin McCarrick to play keyboards and guitarist John Klein.  They soon had a smash hit with the song Peek-A-Bo which soared up the UK and the US charts.  In 1991 they released their album Superstition which spawned the US Top 30  hit Kiss Them For Me.
