SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES
"My earliest memory is pretending to be dead.  My mum used to step over me while I was laying on the kitchen floor."- Siouxsie Sioux
Siouxsie Sioux is definitely one of the most badass women ever to rock the music world. From her days as a Sex Pistols-fan-cum-go-go-dancer to being a relaxed and matured 90s rocker, Siouxsie Sioux has characterized The Banshees.  While others have come in and out of the band (including Adam Ant and Robert Smith), Siouxsie has always been the focal point of the group.

Siouxsie Sioux was born Susan Dallion in 1957.  She was one of the bored teenagers known as the Bromley Contingent, a group who personified the degenerate end of  British punk. The earliest form of the Banshees debuted at the Punk Festival held at London's 100 Club in 1976. With Sid Vicious on drums, The Banshees performerd a 20 minute version of the Lord's Prayer that solidified a place for them in punk history.  A few weeks later, Siouxsie would be apart of the group of fans that helped destroy Bill Grundy's TV career when the Sex Pistols appeared on his show, completely ignoring television standards and censors by spouting out one bad word after another.
