 About the lost riff:
 Basically he just alternates whole steps and half steps from what i can tell.  i'm about 90% sure on the open D being the root or whatever, because i've read a couple of interviews where he talks about leaving the bass D note and going off and doing other stuff, so i think that's it.  The 4th time around just stop around the 6 or the 4 somewhere in there.  Actually now that i think about it it might be the octave (5) and goes back and forth between the bass note and that. this is pretty much it.  As soon as i heard that riff i knew i had to figure it out.  how it got left out is beyond me.  anyways CREED ROCKS!!! but then we all knew that, didn't we? Later all
