Torsional Rigidity Testing Jig.
The following Figures show the Torsional Rigidiy Jig I designed and built. It allows weights to be hung on a long bar that as a pivot on it. The pivot is located between the middle of the wheel hubs. When weights are hung from the bar a moment is applied to the wheels at the hubs. This allows the stiffness of the frame / suspension system to be determined. The last picture shows FEA in IDEAS done exactly the same way as the picture displays. The rear wheels are constrained to the table while a moment is applied to the front wheels at the hubs.
