| Sunday, May 6 (two separate entries with this date) Up at 06:30. Breakfast cockup. Just ready at 08:00 then told to fall in. Left 09:30; 15:30 arrived Sulingen; Grub about 17:30. Good night in tent. First class sleep. 08:00; Got into breakfast queue before everything was gone. 12:00; Lunch to be ready to move off. Trucks left 17:50 after rest arrived from Lunaberg. 23:30; arrived Emsdetten. Many blasted bridges. Roads rough. Good meal after much waiting. To bed 02:00 on floor in textile plant. Monday, May 7 Roll call. Went to see Stage Door PP. PBd around the rest of the day. Had drink in officer's club but too frosty. To bed 23:30. Grub good. Tuesday, May 9 Issued embarkation forms in a.m. Everyone pretty niggly. Beautiful day. have talked to PWX reaeased by all three allies. Some duff show in afternoon. Meals good. Fireworks in evening. Lovely day and evening. Wednesday, May 10 Things moving. Down to station to see refugees leaving; back to write letter. |
