May 22 flown to UK by Lancaster bombers about 10 ex POW per a/c

Transported back to Canada sometime in June (date escapes me) on Queen Mary - arrived in Halifax.

Note: 
I later learned that we were held at the camp because the Russians needed assurance that Russian labour personnel would be returned to them.  Apparently the (West) allied forces had given the message to the forced labour Russians that they could have sanctuary in the west.  The Russians (gov't) apparently said OK you can keep them and we will keep your People!
