The Dressing Station was located in Bastion Tunnel.  About 100 men were also accomodated there.  Captain Day went to hospital, Lieutenant Dawson given charge of "D" Company.  Lieutenant Moxley now reported killed.

The following trophies were captured by us:

3 Trench mortars
1 loader for Machine gun
Numerous rifles

April 10, 1917

At 4:00 a. m. the M. O. found that the air in the Bastion Tunnel had become very foul owing to lack of ventilation, and had to order everybody out.  Some of the men were quite ill.  In the afternoon we were ordered to occupy the Black Line in its whole length across the Divisional Frontage.  Battalion Headquarters remained in the same place.  Lieutenants Clowes, McAughey, Carson, Foulked and Boyd came up from Ecoivres.  Lieutenant Ansell and three scouts reconnoitred the front line as occupied by 1st C. I. Brigade.  The Band was brought up from Ecoivres for carrying duty.

Work continued on re-organising and salvaging.  Two German Machine guns and two trench mortars salvaged, also numerous rifles, etc.  Lieutenant Scanlon died of wounds.

Reconnoitering parties from each Company went forward to look over the area which we were likely to take over.  Lieutenant Clowes wounded by shrapnel, also Sgt. Lewis of "D" Company.  Orders received to relieve 4th C. I. Battalion.  Our new Battalion Headquarters in Bois Carre, B.7.e.4.4.  During relief there was considerable hostile shelling at random, as we were not under observation.  Lieutenants Crosby, Keeler and Davidson received from entrenching Battalion.

Casualties ~ 1 Officer wounded and 1 Other Ranks wounded.
