Officers and N. C. O.'s of "A" and "D" Companies went to Divisional Headquarters, Econivres, to see relief map of enemy trenches in the morning.  Those of "C" and "D" Companies went in the afternoon.  Remainder of Battalion carried out Company training.

Practise over flagged practise ground in morning ~ came off well.  Conference of G. O. C., Bd Major and Commanding Officer in HQ's Mess afterwards.

A rehearsal on the flagged area was planned with mounted men to represent the barrages ~ owing to bad weather it was cancelled.

We vacated billets in Camblignuel.  C. O. with Major Campbell and Lieutenant Ansell went to trenches.  "A" and "B" Companies holding the line.  Battalion H. Q. at A.22.a.9.2, which is to be our battle headquarters for attack.  Remainder of the Battalion occupied billets in Ecoivres. "A" and "B" Companies reconnoitred their assembly positions in front of Bonnal Trench during the night.
25 O. R.'s Reinforcements arrived.

Trenches very muddy.  It was expected that "C" and "D" companies would relieve "A" and "B" in the line, but as Zero Day was postponed 24 hours, the order for relief was cancelled.  Lieutenant Murray evacuated with shrapnel wound in the thigh.
