August 5 now i look for Arkansas Crystal Farms, i have found out that Crystal Farms is a handy name for anyone in the area who farms, so then i switched to crystal mines, and then i switched to maps.google who will show me some of the geology, and yes, it looks like little rock is sitting on some kind of geological feature, i want to know what the "Little Rock" is cause it might be a pegmatite, but it does take a long time to do anything at 44.0 kilobytes that is one thing, that on a satellite map there isn't much else that looks like an old river except an old riverbed, yes indeedy and we are getting closer and closer all the time to little rock, and it looks just like any other city built over a geological feature from the air, Little Rock looks a lot like Brisbane, with its wide meandering river system, wide brown water and wide bridges, in fact it could be a place where there could be a tower 200 metres in the air yes indeed i wonder where a larysa like me gets a job? if it could be with google maps? gods! and now the refresh button has refreshed the map of the whole of the us, which is not what i wanted, maybe there is a place for the full satellite altlas of the world, there is a local search feature, how nifty, oh i see ah, there are balloon bubbles for all of the places that the search turned up, oh, and one of the map pictures is not turning up. i guess if there is going to be a pegmatite sitting on the ground it is going to be in a park cause otherwise it would have been quarried by now now i am zeroing in on Granite Mountain quarries, to see what i can see, which is grey blobs which look like where the machines quarry freak me out and all, hmm now it looks like national park land, i hope that suse can ring me up today, like a vast cover of trees and all, i wonder how the satellites can take photos for us of Australia, that's weird i feel like i am falling uphill Appalachia is ONLINE! i really actually can't wait to move but i think i want it to be over already, herm having the little balloons on the map is really nifty cause it does help one navigate but i don't know what is going on now, but i would like to make a bandwidth meter ok so now i know that Little Rock was named after an actual rock that was a navigational aid on the river so now i look at maps of geology of arkansas, and i found a list of all documented minerals in Arkansas according to this guy, and there were minerals that i had never heard of. and that is some wicked deformation now i am at USGS emailing them that's right i got up this morning cause i wanted to look up maps.google at mt.isa, to see if i could see pegmatites. but they are only going to show up on satellite maps where there is no vegetation, and the usgs site is stupid and not working and not giving me pages that i ask for, what is going on here? but i do need a breakfast? there is kangaroo in the fridge! www.flickr.com and tag:billycorgan pictures of Billy Corgan Saturday 6th, now i looks for Port Moresby, at maps.google to show Michael maps fascinate me, i wonder how one gets into cartography these days i can see a road and somekind of very distictively squareish structure right on the edge of the water which could be a marina, there seem to be about four roads that come out of Port Moresby, i wonder if i could detect the transamazonian highway square thing just looks more and more like a construction as i get closer, but now starting to lose resolution, and in the northeast now i can see more like squares like crystals in tuff http://kh.google.com/kh?v=3&t=tsrrqrttqstqrq url from what looks like Port Moresby it would appear to have grown from the time of the atlas, and i can see another built looking thing dark like water, like some kind of canalage, or it could be the runways of the airport, that is more likely i've started to move south slightly from the "mariner" ah yes and that indeed looks like a city to me, probably Port Moresby, but it not very much fun, it is taking so long to download, i guess this is the dumbest time to be downloading, poor michael he was so tired it is like someone really just doesn't want me to see the airport //kh.google.com/kh?v=3&t=tsrrqrttqsqssts so of course now we want the svg world, hm wouldn't svg be better? it is really fast, and scalable, and you could do the whole world in SVG or what about the annotated Google world, where can then write themselves in, i live here, sort of thing well actually i left NG and started to look for Mt.Kosiusko and now my feet are cold and my nose is running and i am hungry but michael is napping and i would rather be quiet and let him nap, so then i got out the penguin road atlas and i've found lakes jindabyne and eucumbene and things like roads that look like ski runs so possibly smiggen holes and perisher, but once i get into the snow it is very hard to see anything on the ground so i am going to try following the road to the snowline and take it from there. tsrrtsqtsstrrq i would love to figure out how i could play hide and seek on a virtual globe, that would fun, give me a hint, what can you see, ah yes, now this is a nice resolution of lake jindabyne i think i have found thredbo only cause i have see the ski map of it well, there is something i have never seen before, the Australian Alpine Walking Trail, i want to go on it. i can see Mildura now, and constructed things, and things that look like roads and bridges. Michael didn't recognise anything about Port Moresby. which is hardly that surprising but my five hours ran out. And I have to wait before I log on again. i am trying to figure out whether i really want to go out tonight, or continue to bury myself in the internet. cause the thing that is on is free, 7pm ar, well, i reckon that is mildura cause it looks like a city with a grid in the middle of nowhere 6th I have made a collage of my desktop. I try to navigate across Australia in maps.google.com, and all these places I have been to, and lived in, are difficult to find. It is very pretty. I like the zooming in and out, it is very much fun. And it is very easy to get lost a thousand miles in the air. I try to imagine flying but I would just get lost. But sometimes I think this is what Nirvana would be like. 30th The car has gone now. I took the plates off it, and rang the wreckers and they came to get it. My hands smell like the dust of the car. And my clothes 31st It is like being addicted to survival.
