i am at tafe and the Inet has dropped out, i have seen Sue today, she left with a headache
like one of those frustration episodes when the internet drops out, but there is always something else to do
Like Photoshop, like 3DStudio, if i could get in there, still there are things that need to be done in Photoshop but then where to put the images because they have so many layers in and are big and fat
i still don't know what i want to have as the main design for my wwwsite
and to review all the clips on my CDs of animated clips
well, well, i have just been looking at my clips from Mildura, and i still think they are pretty special, the ones in the video directory, and i can watch them on a computer in Phil's room, but there was a time last semester when i was watching them in the library, and i could watch heaps more of them, codecs problems, i am having
i think i might have a breathe fest when i get home tonight, a breathe exhibition
i am due for a monthly review then
it would be great to find a place that could be a real server, especially a free one, and i could put up a bunch of real audio and video streamed clips, hmmm..
well, i've made another video collage cover, and it is made of snippets of the tif stak tifs, only some of each of the tifs is worth printing and most of the tif area is homogenous or just boring
and i've just found out that tifs are bigger than photoshop files, when they are flattened, so they are still flattened. so i want to see how many layers i can save to a disk
layered photoshop files i could save to a CD because yes, that would be useful
here is my story about yesterday, Monday, the 6th of September
yesterday i went to CoDA. just before i left, John, the neighbour, came over to tell me that he had been in hospital with *pneumonia*(!) and i was surprised and horrified that someone can get pneumonia and not know. remembering that when i thought i had pneumonia, i wanted to have it, so then someone would look after me, but i didn't have it anyway. then i was more horrified when he said he was going back to work next week, and he was going to look for a girlfriend because she would look after him better than he can.
so then i went to CoDA, shaking my head at John, and thanking the gods i've learned some detachment, and i didn't have to give him any advice, cause that's not my job
After CoDA i went to centrelink, and shopped for a Job Network Provider. I have to be joined to a JBN to be assigned a case manager. The normal course of events is to sign a "Work Agreement", a contract, with the JBN. The JBN scratches my back and I scratch theirs. Part of that "Work Agreement" would be to do a Work for the Dole programme, amongst other lesser pleasant activities, like "jobseeking activities". Actually looking for work.
Nerg, this sounds ridiculous, but i'll try to explain it. Then i might understand it too.
I want to do WFD but it is only for people who are actively job seeking. I am not "actively jobseeking" as my medical certification says I can do no work. Meaning legally, no hours of work a week. If i want to be a volunteer, I have to have "Work Clearance" on my medical certificate. This is the same for WFD.
I am supposed to have "work clearance" which means my doctor has ticked a particular box, which says i can work for so many hours a week. With that box ticked, and i have "work clearance", Centrelink considers that I can also "actively jobseek". This is usually an abitrary and casual amount of hours per week, but it can be specified on the work agreement. The whole point of my disgruntlement is, there is no easing back into the workplace without the depressive cycle of jobseeking. There is no way that i can legally do any hours of "work" a week and be covered by someone's insurance, without "actively jobseeking".
There are other organisations like the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service, who are supposed to fill this perceived gap, so i am not the only person to notice. But CRS do there own work programmes and training and do not refer to Centrelink.
Then when i got home, Michael pointed out to me that i had left his windows open again when i left the flat.
and i got really cross, cause there is nothing that i can do about that, and i felt completely powerless over my own mind. i have left the windows open before, but not for about six months, the last time i did it, Michael told me he wanted his key back, and i had an anxiety attack, but i've probably told you about that, that was in April i think.
so that is where i am at, yesterday, someone told me Mark Latham had used an expression "climbing the ladder of opportunity, well, i'll have to tell him what i think of the ladder of "opportunity".
