In Chain of Memories, Larxene and Axel spend an awfully a lot of time together, planning strategies and chatting about future plans. Some things which most fans can not deny is that Larxene flirts heavily with Axel even if he does not recipocate. In the official manual which goes with the remake of Chain of Memories its states that Larxene "trusts Axel" however as many who have played the game may know, it is a trust which is misplaced. It might be a one-sided crush but one thing can not be denied, Axel and Larxene are two peas in the same pod, they have a strange likeness. Axel although in Kingdom Hearts II is depicted as a sort of anti-hero, saving Sora from the nobodies, in Chain of Memories he a very different character, brutally killing Vexen and saying he would even take Namine down to get to Marluxia, while Larxene is a sadist, speaking casually of killing co organisation members who is strangely still loyal to Marluxia and Axel.
Their relationship is one which is to me the most complex in the Kingdom Hearts World. Axel teases Larxene many times, in one such instant when he informs her, she got her butt kicked by Sora, she though is the boss and will toy with Axel just because she is bored. The two are quite evenly matched if Square had allowed Larxene to live to see Kingdom Hearts II, who knows what might have happened?
